Bass Pro Shops is an absolute mecca for outdoor enthusiasts, and I say this as someone who isn't particularly drawn to fishery. The sheer size of the store is awe-inspiring, and it's like stepping into a haven for anyone who loves the great outdoors.What struck me immediately was the incredible variation in products. While fishing gear is a prominent feature, the store goes well beyond that. From camping equipment to outdoor clothing and everything in between, it's a comprehensive showcase of gear for nature lovers. Even as someone not deeply into fishing, I found myself captivated by the diversity of offerings.The immersive displays, including indoor ponds and realistic wildlife setups, add a unique touch to the shopping experience. It feels like more than just a retail space; it's a destination in itself. The staff's expertise is evident, and they're more than willing to help, whether you're a seasoned angler or just exploring the outdoor world.In essence, Bass Pro Shops is more than a store—it's an adventure. We LOVE Bass Pro Shops! We will go look around just to have something to do. It's always so fun going there with the kiddos. They think it's so magical with all of the animals and fish. We also love their Santa's Wonderland to take our pictures for Christmas, it always turns out so cute!

what can we say about Bass Pro Shops Portage that they don't say about Heaven!!! Enough said! Our first visit after many drives past and many trips to the Bolingbrook location and even the main location/hotel/aquarium in Missouri!! THIS LOCATION won our hearts!! Hands down!! Great staff and we did joke that it seems "every Bass Pro Shop" has at least one older white haired gentlemen walking around the sales grounds scanning customers lol! and we love it!!! Great snacks! Decor! and the games for kids makes a huge bonus for parents trying to kill time!! Just bring dollar bills and let the memories begin!! This store is a mecca to all based on just the amount of FUN we had!!

Great store everything you need for your next great adventure. There are lots of cool sights and some games for the kids. Anything from food, clothes, shoes, snacks, camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, to boating.

Bass Pro Shops are always fun. I LOVE that they are pet friendly. Took our dog in for the first time, he wasn't too sure about those fish at first. He ended up picking out a toy and was happy. The staff was very friendly especially the guy greeting customers and the woman at the front desk.

This place is huge for indoor & outdoor equipment shopping for hunting, shooting, camping, fishing, etc. My husband said they really set a good price for ammo here. I like their decorations. However, the Google Maps settings up the location totally wrong. If you search the shop on the Google page and click "Direction", it will lead you to an empty farm that is 20' far from the shop. Input fully address on Google map to get the right direction. Bad Google!

Stopped by here on our way home during a vacation and this place was HUGE. great selection in most departments, we didn't look at every section (four wheelers, guns, archery, fishing, hunting apparel, and so much more) but I can tell you it has two very large fish tanks, a waterfall, a penny-press machine, a target shooting gallery (laser guns) with a great scenery set to practice shooting at including lots of random items, animals, a cabin, boat and more. The greeter at the front was super friendly, even smiled bigger the second time I went through the doors because I forgot my money in the car the first time. Also the bathrooms were clean. (They are on the second floor, just ride up the glass elevator)

I haven't had a single bad encounter in this place. My favorite part of this store is that they allow dogs. My dog got to take a picture with Santa about a week ago. They give you one free photo which i think is awesome! He really loves looking at the fish, including me. They have pretty much anything you could possibly want. I go shopping here way to much. And all the staff are so nice!

Omg, 1st time at Bass pro and wow, loved it. They had everything I could possibly want or need. I may take up a bow and arrow, but with targets, no animals. Visually spectacular, nice day out.

This place is AWESOME!! I see it all the time on my way to Chicago and finally stopped and it did not disappoint. It has everything a sporting good store should have and then some. The fish tank display is out of this world. We walked around for well over an hour shopping and checking stuff out and we still didn't see everything. I was like a kid in a candy store. The lady at the checkout was very sweet and personable.

I love this place. I can lose 10 minutes standing in front of the aquarium. A fella can go broke in this shop. They have everything an Outdoorsman could want. I can always find a "deal" on something I want. And it's nice walking around looking at all the new merchandise that's out now. If you've never been to a Bass Pro Shop, get going.

So I'll try to keep it short. I came here to buy a 1911 and the salesman showed me a beretta 92x. I loved it, but I was told I had to wait up to 30 days for my background to come back. I thought he said 3 days and walked out, but paid for my gun first about $850. A week goes by and I try calling bass to get no answer, so I go into the store. They explain can be up to 30 days. I still didn't understand why but he kept saying it. I'm not in a big hurry but I want what I paid for. 2 more weeks go by. I try calling for a few days no answer. I'm thinking they should at least call after a few weeks with a status or something. I show up a couple days before 30 days. They explain that some places give you your gun after 3 days even though your background hasn't come back. If it does come back denied then ATF comes for you, but after 30 days if still Delayed then it has to be resubmitted. Also explained can take months. I asked for a refund and purchased online through a gun dealer. You know they could if explained this better from the beginning and called me with a status. That would of been nice and I would of waited. No apologies or alternatives.They have their own rules and dont really care for the customers. Thanks for making me feel stupid and wasting my time. I felt like a criminal or something. I will never step foot there again.

This is an adventure-lovers dream! It’s the most spectacular Outdoor Sporting store I’ve ever seen. We spent an hour exploring the store and could easily have spent four. The store is clean, well organized, and has friendly, professional staff. They have an uncommonly large selection of dog supplies too, which is an added bonus. This is the kind of store you can spend hours in with your family without realizing how much time has passed. It’s definitely worth driving a few hours just to enjoy what this store has to offer.

Well let’s just say my family and our four boys could spend a whole day here. We all love the outdoors from grilling, camping, fishing, boating, kayaking, we love it. We come here for birthday shopping, Christmas shopping or just to see what’s new. Bass Pro has plenty for the whole family and we will be coming back again.

Insufficient lighting inside the store. It was an overcast day, so you would think the interior lights would be brighter. It was weird shopping in the dark. Otherwise, it's a good location. Clean and well stocked.

Vast selection of anything you might possibly need for your next outdoor adventure! Dog friendly, a giant fish tank, boots in larger sizes, and an enormous selection of outdoor gear make this a great one stop shop for outdoor needs. Do yourself a favor, and set a spending limit before you go in...trust me.

Great outdoor sporting goods store! Pretty impressed with there selection and pricing. Would recommend the stop if passing by or in the region! I will definitely stop by as passing. I love looking at new guns and they have a fairly large selection!

They were low on staff when needed, but the selection was pretty decent on multiple things we went there to buy. Their prices aren’t great but I’m willing to pay more for a store that has that much product. When we were able to find a staff member they had great product knowledge and were helpful and friendly.

I love going to Bass Pro (prices could be a bit cheaper) but I don’t like going there… but what I don’t appreciate is when we are hounded from a sales rep about a little getaway where you pay x about of dollars and you have x amount of time to take the trip… we probably told her 5-6 times not interested and she just kept it up…that alone makes me not want to make the trip back up there as I’m about 45 mins south of Portage.

Nice facility with a whole lot to look at! As usual, their feature wall with waterfalls and animals is wonderful...and tall! Look for the clearance rack while there for markdowns. This is a two story facility with hunting items upstairs.Plenty of parking out front and boat and outdoor utility items all around the front entrance and sides of the bldg. I always appreciate their patriotic decor during the holidays.

They have everything here! It's always so exciting to come. Even if you aren't buying anything, it's fun to snoop around and make a wish list for later.I am tall, so finding jeans is hard. The only place I buy them is here now. Not a bad price on jeans either. Between $30-$40. I knocked a star off because their other merch is high priced. You can get the same brands of fishing line, for example, much cheaper in another store.

We usually love this place... IF we can get past the time share people. Saying "No thank you" does not work. They try every rebuttal to every way you decline. If my kid starts walking away from me, they try to keep me there by acting like they didn't just see my 5 year old take off. We try to avoid them at all costs! Last time, as we were leaving, my son started walking past them about 5 feet from me. One of the time share people bent down with his arms open to my son, motioning for him to come over to him. ABSOLUTELY NOT! This is not ok to do to someone's kid!! These people need to lay off! My business won't make or break any significant sales for this company, but I feel like we spend a lot of money here. I love the clothes. My husband buys guns, amo, fishing, and camping supplies here. We have gotten too many of the cheap plastic toys. Don't reply if the only thing you're going to say is, "We're sorry for your experience. We'll pass this information on to management." Do something about the aggressive sale tactics for the time shares!! 90% of people who did the time shares hated the experience!!

Came in today around 915am. Had a great time looking around and dreaming of a boat and ATV. All staff I encountered was very nice and very helpful. Took lots of pictures. I only get into Bass Pro Shops once a year but I spend lots of money.

Bass pro shops is one of my favorite spots to get my fishing gear. The speed shad are a great option for bass fishing and the BPS brand is half the price and works much better . Great fishing gear selection and tons of PFG gear and other brands . Great tracker boat selection and repair shop . The closed the restaurant that was located inside so no more food . Staff is friendly and very clean store

I come in there off and on for camping gear and until today had never had an issue like this.I was coming in to look at cargo toppers for my van. As I was looking at them I saw one of the employees looking at me but he didn't come over to help which was no big deal.So after I had looked at the two available I had a couple questions and I walked over to the desk and once again he looked straight at me and turned around and looked away. There was another employee there that was waiting on a customer so I assumed maybe there was an issue and continued to wait. After the customer was helped he again looked over where I was standing and turned around and walked off.At this point I basically said fine I will go somewhere else if you're not interested in helping me. As I started to walk off he came towards me but at that point he had already ignored me twice and I was a little perturbed and decided that though I saw one that I liked I would spend my money elsewhere on it. Considering the upcoming trip I have planned in the amount of supplies I need I really am upset that I'm going to have to find another place to purchase.I don't know if it's because I was female and he thought that I certainly wouldn't need anything in that section or if he was just being a jerk. But I wanted to share this because it really upset me thank you.I am attaching photos just to clarify the items that I was looking at and as proof I was there.

I love the shooting gallery upstairs. It's fun. Like the clothes, but unfortunately too expensive. As, I noticed very few patrons , probably because of this reason. Don't see these stores holding on much longer. Really don't know what else to say . Brick and mortar businesses pooping out.
