This store has always been disappointing, staff have always been cold and feel like customers are inconveniencing them by being in the store. I’ve gave up on shopping here, only been useful the last few times because they are local and have access to giving your pup a bath. Today was the final straw after being told the bath closes in 20 minutes then not being allowed to use the bath? If it’s open for 20 more minutes then it’s still open. Staff have never been on the same page and have been very rude on multiple occasions. Save your time and shop elsewhere, not a friendly person environment for you or your furry family.

Took my Pittie for a Dog Wash and there was no Warm water and when I told the employee he responded that there body Temps were lower than ours and it should be safe to wash her. Not an acceptable response. So I took her home and washed her. I've always used Specks for Baths and Hope that this issue is Resolved ASAP. Thank you.

Friendly staff. Good place for dog supplies, but cat section has gotten smaller and smaller. I have to go elsewhere for most of what my cats need.

I love Specks. They have all my pet food and treats. I also love the cheap and nail clipping. I was paying a Vet to clip my dogs nails every month. I found out they were not clipping all the nails. I am really pleased with Specks.

I enjoy going in with my dogs. The staff are friendly, they have a little of everything inside the store. My only complaint is they are a little pricey but it is a pet specialization store. Any specialization store is a little pricey.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. There is always someone to greet you when you walk in the door. For the heavier items, they will always offer to carry it to your car.I like the fact that I'm supporting a local business, not a chain. Their prices are reasonable, I appreciate that they are a local business, that they have what I need when I need it and their hours are fantastic.They also have a loyalty program. It adds up quickly and when you reach a certain goal, a receipt is printed out right at the register. No need to log in to any account or wait for an e-mail to arrive. I am thankful that Speck's came to Plainfield.

very happy with our experiences. they always have our food in stock and the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Loved the 25th year celebration. got tons of samples to try too. Best part was the doggy icream. Thanks!

Love that the staff is actually knowledgeable in pet's and what's best for their health. I wasn't sure about a 'grain free' cost food but was given options that were within budget and had previously been tried by staff. So far my cat's love it.

The folks at Speck's always greet my pup with praise and affection. They really know their stuff about the products. I buy my food there for my dog and my cat. I like that it feels more neighborly than PetSmart and I don't have to go looking for someone to help me. At Speck's they are right there when I have questions. They also have a self-service dog baths and have scheduled dates for affordable vaccinations.

Well, for one this store has about half the stock selection as other specks, no fish to go enjoy looking at, no frozen feed mice, no live feed mice, and the heat lamp section blows. I purchased a halogen lamp set from the Avon Specks, but can't get replacement bulbs for it at this one... Staff, well, I didn't enjoy the overbearing male that was there. I wanted to look at several items, and this guy asks what it is I'm looking for. Cool, what wasn't, was the way he barked at me when I continued perusing the store as something outside of what I was looking for caught my eye. Big and Little John really failed at this location.
