We are in the process of adopting a dog and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They really seem to care about the animals there. They let us come see the dog we are hoping to adopt as much as we like.

Terrible service. We put an application in to adopt a pup and were told all week long we were the first to put an application in and he is ours if his owner doesn’t come. We bought all the stuff for him the day before and all the sudden on the day we were supposed to get him we were told all the sudden had a application in before us and someone is coming to get him. My heart goes out to the pups there but we will not be wasting time with that place again!!

They take the best care of these animals with hardly anything. It would be wonderful if the community could help this place out. They already have half the battle won with such caring and compassionate volunteers but to have some resources to help this place would benefit all the citizens of Pike Co.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with my questions. After the adoption they even followed up with a phone call to see how we all were adjusting. Our beautiful Luna is a perfect addition to our family and we couldn't be more pleased. You can definitely tell the staff truly cares for the animals and their well-being even after adoption. I would definitely adopt from them again in the future if we would decide to.

Adopted 2 cats here back in November male and female. I was told they both were sterilized and could not get pregnant or get any cat pregnant. Turns out female was not spayed and I am now going to have a litter of kittens in a few weeks. This is very frustrating as I have spent $105 on a vet visit to be told she is pregnant and will have to spend over $200 to get her spayed 2 weeks after kittens are weened.

I got my first pup here in 2013 and second in 2014, they’re still alive and thriving. 4 stars because I remember in 2015 I wanted a third member and was continuously bothered by the owner for not neutering my second dog. I did not end up getting a third member but I appreciate their place for giving me healthy pups.

I found a pet I was interested in adopting on petfinder.com. I reached out through the site to inquire about her after waiting for a few days with no feedback from the shelter. I ended up talking to a guy who works there on Saturday March 21 and I said that I was interested in doing a home visit with my family to see if she would be a good fit. On Sunday March 22 we drove 2 and 1/2 hours to get Zoey. I get there and tell Nola that I was here to get Zoey for a home visit. To be informed by Nola that someone had come in 15 minutes ago and adopted her. I feel like this was very unprofessional to not have a dog available that was supposed to be on hold. She said that we could go look at the other dogs so after driving all that way decided we should. I see a dog we were interested in to be told that she was non adoptable for 5 months due to heart worm treatments and needing to be spayed. I asked then if there were other dogs. Nola took us to the puppy room where there 4 dogs 2 puppies and 2 adult dogs. When I tried asking questions about the puppies the questions were ignored. There was a beagle named Gracie and Nola said do you want to take her for a walk? I said I guess.I feel that Nola was very passive aggressive about us taking Gracie home.We took her for a walk so when I went to inquire some more info about Gracie Nola didn't seem to know much about anything. I tried asking how she was with cats and kids. Her answers were I don't know to most of my questions that she wasn't ignoring. My boyfriend and I decided to take her home for a home visit for a few weeks to see if she would be a good fit.Its been 3 weeks since Gracie has been in our home and although we liked her a lot she seemed to be scared of our toddler and her fear caused her to snap at him a few times. if it weren't for that she would have a forever home.Jon drove Gracie back today. Nola was once again there and when he asked if he could go back to see the other dogs. She said I'm not allowing to look at any dogs here and walked out of the room.Jon had brought a toy that Gracie liked that we bought for her while she was with us and Nola refused to take it as well.

This is a wonderful organization who has a passion for the care of animals! They have a lot of amazing volunteers and I have personally adopted 4 pets from PAWS! Highly recommend visiting to see if you find a new best friend to take home! I especially like the fact that you can take pets on trial home visits to see it it is a good fit at your home. If it doesn't work out, you can take it back and try another one!

We adopted our 2 large dogs here 4 years ago. We are forever grateful to Nola and the Paws organization for taking such good care of our Roman and Flynn and all the animals! We continue to donate! Thank you!

This place is absolutely terrible, and Nola should have to answer for the terrible things she does along with the board that supports her! Please rescue from a shelter that has the best interest of the animals at heart!! Boycott this place, they fired the last employee they had this morning that truly had the animals best interest at heart! There are so many other shelters It Takes a Village in Evansville is a great one! Stay Away from PAWS FORCE THEM TO MAKE THE CHANGES NEEDED! Only gave 1 star becasue they wouldnt let me post with no stars and negative stars wasn't an option!!

The owner is not helpful she is very rude I wanted to get a white cat because I liked it alot but she would mot let me have it because it wasnt a lap cat not everyone wants a cat all over them 24/7 that wants attention all the time. An then she wouldnt let me get another cat just because I didnt have my boyfriend with me because I told her I wanted to surprise him with a cat and the white one remined me of his old cat. An she wouldnt let me get a different cat because my boyfriend was not with me. That is rude and awful she is very rude to people. This wasnt the first time I had problems with her either. I honestly feel like thr place would be better off if she wasnt the owner anymore and you people who say she is nice are liars. She has been rude to alot of people I know. I wanted a new member of my family but she wouldnt let me adopt a family member. Its awful.

We wanted to adopt a young lab mix but they would not allow it because she was skiddish around people- She's in a shelter of course she is. This is not a home with small children either. My teenage daughter came out in tears because of the condition of the place. She wanted to take all of the animals out if there. Very sad.

We got a Lab Mix in the summer. She is 9 months old now and is such a sweet girl. Her name was Jinx and the kids renamed her Isabel which we call her Bella. Thank you for taking such good care of the animals there.
