Being the closest store, I sometimes, unfortunately, have to shop here. I have bought, good dated, Merkley sausage, bacon and chicken only to find it was BAD! Potatoes are refrigerated which you should not do, the workers are semi friendly so don't count on them helping you or being friendly, especially at the checkout. Everything is horribly over priced. God help you if one elderly woman checks you out. Rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. I do not advise the deli food either! Watch the dates on everything you buy and when checking out, they sometimes don't give the sales prices! I will gladly drive the extra miles just avoid this place.

The deli is good. We enjoy the fried chicken. It is convenient, but unless something is on sale, the prices are very high.

I've grown up with this store in the small town I live in, it's always held the same appeal, same smells, etc. I love it for the selection it offers and how it seemingly keeps high schoolers employed, offering jobs to teach kids responsibility. It's a great asset to our community and for that, deserves my business.

Had the most rude cashier. It took her around 30 minutes to ring us up and bag our groceries. And while putting our food, that we eat, in bags she slammed and dropped everything into the bags. This woman talks to other employees and people she knows while, rolling her eyes like she can't stand to do her job, looking at you the customer with complete hatred, and trashing the completely over priced groceries. Thank god this dump is convenient. We did run into a few men back in the meat department that were very kind and helpful. And one of the other cashiers Brenda always goes out of her way to give you good service.

Prices are competitive on alot of things but some are overpriced. Staff is friendly and helpful. The bakery always has nice displays and fresh desserts available. The deli also has a ton of delicious meats and cheeses to try out!

Meh, it's an IGA. They always let them get ran into the ground and then close them right before opening a new one. I guess maintaining what you have is just too difficult.

It's an okay store. Has the basics you need but it is expensive. I just don't feel that the atmosphere in this store is very relaxing. If you're just looking for something quick to grab, and you're not particular, it's okay for that. But if you're looking to shop and you want to be relaxed, I wouldn't recommend it.

My son is a new student at the local college, Oakland City University. The prices were great with different sales available, great selection, fresh produce, meat along with friendly service. My son's health is important to him so it gives us peace of mind that he has this convenient location to make his purchases.

I try to shop local if I can but the prices are so much higher than other big chains around the area and there have been a handful of times within the past couple years where I come home with a food item and it’s already past it’s expiration date. I don’t shop there very often and that’s the main reason why.. They need to be checking/rotating their product more often.

Not what it once was. Honestly only go there for 2 reasons. 1 it's quicker than Walmart. 2 the night manager Mark, treats all customers like family. He greats you with robust charm and makes you feel appreciated. If the manager was half of what Mark is, they could probably reverse their downward spiral.

Over priced and terrible management. The older man, I believe to be the store manager, looks like he is high on drugs. He always stares at my husband with a perverse grin, making us both uncomfortable. My husband won't even go in there at this point.

With one product in hand while in the express lane, Cassidy shut down the line just as I put item down so that she could step into ‘the office’ and check her phone. This has happened multiple by multiple people which makes it EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to support our local economy. Alittle respect, intelligence, and competence would go a long way.

Worst IGA ever manager didn't seem to care that on several different occurrences found product that was expired and not just a little some was 4 years past expiration date that is a little much and very dangerous if you ask me you would at least think he would apologized but nope I'm getting tired of saying stuff to him it has happened to me at least 4 different times with 4 completely different things just off the top of my head pumpkin, biskets, chicken gravy in the can, and Velveeta mac n cheese 3 pack. The chicken gravy was 4 years old. I would not go back if i had another grocery store close to me but i really don't so just be careful watch your expectation dates. I just hope this helps people be aware.

Over priced on most items and not that big of a selection. However it beats running 15 mins in either direction. When they have a sale it's really priced great. I urge you to avoid the frozen section of the store.

Of the people that work there are customer-oriented to a point and IGA has higher prices on their foods here in Oakland City because there is no competition for them over here
