Visited the Rug Gallery of Newburgh looking for a rug with little experience with them. Was greeted by Mike and his wife and quickly knew we were in the right place. We explained what we were looking for and received personalized attention. Mike explained the different grades and types of carpets and showed us dozens, explaining each of them. I purchased a living area and foyer rugs from Mike several months ago and they are still as beautiful as the day he delivered them! Mike was so kind, knowledgeable, accommodating, and just terrific with his white glove service. He came to my home to look at the spaces and my color schemes, then returned two days later with 3 different choices for each area. He was very patient with me as I was deciding, then helped rearrange my furniture after he put the pads and rugs in place. After a year of living in our newly built house, I returned to The Rug Gallery with my husband to pick out a rug for our bare floor in the living room. I had stopped by The Rug Gallery last spring to check it out, and was immediately impressed with Mike, who greeted me like family. He listened to my story and when I finally returned this month with my husband, he remembered who I was and what I had said. My husband and I got the same warm greeting. Mike worked very hard to find the perfect rug for us. His knowledge of his inventory impressed my husband. I was impressed with Mike's careful listening and understanding of my vision. Although it was a big decision for us, Mike was very patient, even when we delayed further due to illness. Finally, the decision was made and Mike honored his quoted sale price. Of the two places to get your exotic rug fix, Mike’s spot in Newburgh is the place. For the price of a machine made rug at the Rug Merchant, mike at the rug gallery offers many better hand knotted rugs for the ballpark of the same price. You can try them in your house before you pull the trigger which the rug merchant doesn’t always do or at all. There’s no car salesman vibe walking in and it’s very laid back. I’ve purchased 2 rugs here and it’s always been a true pleasure. Thanks again Mike!

We had a great experience while shopping at The Rug Gallery in July of 2020. The owner was a very nice man who was easy to shop with. He was very knowledgeable about the rugs in his inventory and explained to us how he hand selects the rugs during overseas trips throughout the year. There was never any pressure from the owner to buy and he allowed us to take some rugs home in order to try them out. We ended up purchasing the perfect rug at what we felt like was a reasonable price. We have have plans to go back to purchase more in the future.
