This hotel has some very unique features. I loved all the old wood furniture and had kind of a medieval feel to it. The hotel was all brick and appeared to be a church at one time. There's a very unique piece of wall art in the main lobby, which had old items kind of glued on a board, I'm pretty sure I saw an actual human skull on there. Very cool. The room was a bit smaller, but they had all the immennites of a hilton. I would stay here again.

We booked a 1 night stay here and I was in an incredibly bad mood when we arrived so I was not in the mood for its quaintness. But after an incredibly amazing meal at the attached restaurant I was primed to have a great experience. Our room had a cute little fireplace. And yeah everything is old and creaks but its really just a nice place to go for a getaway. The entire staff of the hotel and restaurant were incredibly friendly and sweet. The housekeeper we encountered at our building was super helpful. I could not have had a better experience. I can genuinely say I loved it.

Took a much needed R&R with my old dog at the Inn Tuesday through Friday in October. The inn itself is okay, clean, pretty average hotel rooms. Hallways could use some shampooing, but for the most part okay. The grounds, however, are very cool. Trails, enclosed pool, bean bag court, and a lot of things to see as you meander around the lake. The area has many sites and history worth seeing. No fast food restaurants in town and the Red Geranium Restaurant I believe is owned by the inn..a bit pricey menu but I did not eat there. There are a couple of local restaurants but that's about it. Only grocery store I could find was Dollar General a few blocks away. TAKE SUPPLIES!! LOL. They were preparing for a wedding as we were leaving and events are obviously a huge part of their business. Try it out for relaxation! I'm satisfied!Rooms: Rooms are very basic. Ours had two double beds, microwave, and mini refrigerator.Nearby activities: History of the Harmonists and Harmonist Labyrinth.Walkability: Easy walking to sites and trails.Food & drinks: The complimentary "grab and go" breakfast consists of coffee and a nutrigrain bar.

Came for a wedding.Priced accordingly for being a wedding venue. We left our personal pillows in our room when we checked out.Called and asked them to ship them. They sent them.Great service.Rooms: Clean.Beds were doubles / full size.Lots of pillows.Bad reviews are probably from people who never are satisfied.Walkability: Nice small town vibesWalked back from General Dollar. One half mile.Food & drinks: Free breakfast was grab and go.MuffinsHigh Temp milk served on iceApple juice in small containersGranola bars. Not very satisfying.

New Harmony in general is pure magic! It is the best place to go to in order to find some peace and respite. The inn is very affordable and the staff are just the kindest, most helpful people you’ll ever meet! The rooms are comfortable, especially the beds, and it’s pet friendly! The patios and balconies are great places to soak up the peace and quiet. Reserve your room now! It’s a great investment in your sanity!

The grounds were very nice and conducive for taking long walks. Rooms very clean and bed comfortable. Pillows were a bit to soft for me. Meals in the conference center were not Vegan friendly or nut free...huge salads with feta cheese, pecans and bacon throughout and only dressing option was some kind of hot bacon vinegarette was served and when asked no other options available. Lots of meat and dairy, even meat cooked in green beans! I ate alot of bread and potatoes. Bring your own vegan foods.

Stayed less than a week ago after reading some positive reviews.I am giving two stars mainly for the reason that the gentleman at the office made at least one attempt to solve the issue. If you want to go on vacation and listen to dogs bark loudly and children run up and down the stairs then this is the place for you. At roughly 200 dollars a night with certain amenities this is not what I wanted.Had asked for a different room which couldn’t provide due to being sold out (I get that happens) asked if they could have a chat with the room with the dogs. The gentleman at the desk had made one trip in trying to corral the dogs yet it seemed after he left the dogs got louder and the people in the room opposite of mine decided to be Increasingly loud.In the end I took care of the issue by leaving hotel and ending my stay short and refunded the remainder of the trip.Room was well kept but this place is older and walls are very thinThe restaurant attached to this place is a joke and you will find way better service and prices at the American legion just up the road .Biggest gripe is service here. So read the bad reviews and make your best decision

This hotel and resort was a great idea with their New Years Eve package. It was a very low key yet fun place to enjoy the holiday. All of the staff were very polite and professional. The hotel was very clean especially the rooms. The campus and grounds are beautiful. Nice quiet retreat type of atmosphere with lots of historical structures in the area.Rooms: Clean and comfortable

We stayed here while visiting locally for a funeral. The facilities were very clean but that staff is what deserves a quality review. We called in advance and spoke with Destiny. We were coordinating multiple family units from out of town for the funeral and she was kind, patient, and helpful for the entire process. Furthermore because we are from all out of town visiting our surviving Grandmother we wanted to try and coordinate a family photo last minute. Destiny put us in contact with an excellent photographer. They allowed us to take family photos in the main building, move furniture and even lit the fireplace just for us without asking. The entire staff was so top notch. We are planning a summer trip for next summer for our entire family and already agreed without hesitation we will be staying here again just because of the quality service and care we received. Thank you for taking such good care of us!

New Harmony is beautiful, and the Inn is well-located for walking to everything one may wish to see and do while there. The grounds are gorgeous. We reserved 3 nights. This was a special occasion, so we contacted ahead of our visit and requested a quiet room away from disturbances. We arrived late, an hour before registration closed, so weren't acquainted with the layout until the next day. We were located right above and next to the Inn's restaurant, which is a busy area. The room was very nice, though it did not have a microwave as advertised. The cleaning lady opened our door the first morning at 10 a.m. and my husband had to tell her in his underwear that we didn't require service. The following 2 mornings, a grounds keeper was right outside our window by 9 a.m. with a gas powered leaf blower, and the noise continued for quite a while. On our last night, my husband went to the restaurant to ask for a menu about 30 minutes before they were supposed to close. When he returned to place our order, they told him they were closing early because it was raining. This was approximately 7 minutes after he was given a menu. We would strongly recommend being crystal clear about your sleeping habits, and not relying on the restaurant to keep its advertised hours. Otherwise it's very nice.

Absolutely charming. Clean comfortable room with shaker style furniture and firm beds. Shower was low entry type with safety bars and non skid floor. Walking from parking to first floor room had no steps or hazards, interior lighting was bright. Indoor pool is located outside the main hotel building but in decent weather the short walk was fine, lovely to have the chance to swim. The Red Geranium restaurant was cozy and affordable with reliable classics. Restaurant and hotel both very family friendly and yet serene. Excellent multigenerational family choice.

We had my parents 60th wedding anniversary celebration at the Red Geranium Tillich Room, and several members of our party also stayed the night at the New Harmony Inn. The inn rooms were wonderful, the food was great, and the staff really went above and beyond what I expected. I highly recommend everything about the New Harmony experience.

Brunch was in a very nice dinning room with a operating fireplace. Service was slow; as most restaurant's today. The food is good, nice presentation and the prices are right-on. Nice staff. Makes a perfect start to a afternoon of exploring New Harmony's charm and history.

This "hotel" is absolutelyB-E-A-U-TIFUL! I put hotel in quotes because it is nothing like any hotel I've stayed in. The room was the perfect size for my husband & I. It was absolutely gorgeous! The common areas heading up to the room were stunning. The staff is amazing. It is truly a like a little slice of heaven. We went to Disney a few years back & this was the best trip I've been on.... including the Inn. We are grateful to the staff, business owners & residents for making us feel so welcome in their beautiful town! My birthday is in August & my husband's gift to me thus year is a family trip back to New Harmony & the gorgeous 1 of a kind New Harmony Inn in the Fall!

Rooms are simple but clean. This is not the kind of place you go to sit in your room all day anyway. Many have electric fireplaces, balconies, and nice views. Noise from the hallways was very loud, it startled us several times. Hot water was not very hot. Fine for a shower but not hot enough for a bath. They have bicycles and golf carts you can rent but most of the things to visit are within easy walking distance. The grounds were beautiful with many small gardens, a pond with a manufactured waterfall, and a heated indoor pool and hot tub. However, they really needed to mow and trim most places. The tall grass and weeds were very surprising when everything else was taken care of so well. When I called to reserve the room the lady at the front desk seemed rather annoyed to have to book my room. Maybe they prefer online booking? When we arrived we were greeted by a gentleman in a bow-tie who was one of the friendliest people I ever met. I was a little apprehensive about how friendly the place would be form speaking with them originally. However, the gentleman was so over the top helpful and friendly that I felt immediately welcome. Cant wait to go back but may try a bed and breakfast next time.

Quiet and quaint artsy town. We stayed in the Riverbend building. There was an odd zipper clasps on the pillows. When I googled it, it seemed to be a way of keeping bed bugs out. This made it difficult to sleep as I started to fear that their was a reason they needed this. I wish all the carpet was replaced with hardwoods. The A/C and TV worked fine. The red geranium restaurant was our favorite! The pool was nice but the hot tub was difficult to get in and out off and wasn’t very powerful. The grounds are pretty. There is a lot to see and try in such a small town. It’s worth getting a gold cart to see it all. The trails are enjoyable. It could of been a little cleaner but overall it was a pleasant stay. I would recommend this place for couples or a girls trip as there is a lot of antique shops and unique sites. I would come again and request the other building.

This is a repost of my review because they keep removing it.We chose New Harmony Inn and Conference Center for our wedding 08/20/22. Melissa, Director of Sales/Wedding Coordinator, is one of the worst people I have ever met in my life. As soon as we signed our contract the communication became terrible. I would text, call, and email over several days and even weeks and most of time never even got a response. Even though we did a taste test, our food was incorrect. When we asked for a 10% refund she said that they decided a $100 refund, which is 2.7%, was fair since the food was edible. It took nearly two weeks to get this refunded because they kept charging my account more. The food was extremely extremely disappointing. We consistently had to call multiple different people to gain access to areas of the venue that was supposed to be open for us. The house we got ready and stayed in was dirty, covered with feathers and dirt. My friend is supposed to get married here in a year and a half and now she is looking at other venues. Even with these issues I had to fight to get any response, I emailed and called and after I asked to speak with the General Manager I finally received an email back. Absolute worst service I have ever received.Edit: So basically your response is I was a horrible customer? The only staff I even had any real interaction with was Melissa, Amy, and the cook. In fact the only other interaction I had with staff is checking in and out and then the thank yous I got as the wedding was ending and I gave the kitchen and cleaning staff cupcakes. So I’m sure the unpleasant interaction with Melissa, Amy, and the cook was when I complained during dinner that the food was not what was taste tested and picked out. Maybe you should provide the service that agreed upon.

We desperately needed to stop and nap between Louisville, KY and Kansas City, the town of Santa Clause didn't want to accommodate us, but the staff in New Harmony were great. We arrived shortly after 3, checked right in and slept hard! The rooms were clean, town was adorable and we may go back to explore.Safety: Felt very safe, small neighborhood atmosphere.Walkability: Town was pedestrian friendly and there were golf carts for rent also.
