The Royal Cafe in New Castle, Indiana is a wonderful place to go and enjoy breakfast or lunch. I highly recommend the Ham and Swiss wrap (pictured), the blueberry muffin (pictured), and the White Knight frappe!The staff is extremely friendly and the food is well prepared and tastes GREAT!!!This is a great place to go and study, meet up with colleagues, book clubs, or visit with family and friends. The atmosphere is pleasant and they don't play extremely loud music that distracts from studying or being able to talk with people.I highly recommend this cafe to anyone that lives or visits New Castle, Indiana!!!Vegetarian options: Check the menu out online, but I know that they have options for any type of taste!!!Parking: Nice large parking lot that is wheelchair accessible.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible parking spots

My husband ordered two biscuits and gravy this morning, close to 10a.m. maybe that was the reason the biscuits were so hard and tasted old. Never had this problem before. He'll be going somewhere else from now on.

Everything was great. They also set up outside tables and chairs for viewing the eclipse at no charge. They also stayed open for extended hours to support this event. There was no charge for parking or using outside items. Others in the area were charging a premium for similar services.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options.

We had the pulled pork and the chicken ceasar wrap. The mac n cheese was delicious! The sweet tea was made to perfection. Nice, quiet atmosphere. You almost forget your in New Castle! We sat outside, and it was so relaxing!

The good:The food is pretty decent; paninis and the like.Sandwiches do not come with a side; you have to pay extra for those. The coffees are good. They are open on Sundays, which is unusual around here. They also have some vegetarian choices; again, unusual for around here. You order at the counter, and they bring you the food.The bad:The ambiance is severely, severely lacking. It feels like you are eating in a garage. Then there's the bad crafts that further make it feel like you are in the midst of a garage having a garage sale.The service today was awful. We were the only ones in there, and the girls at the counter obviously did not want to be there. Blank stare--no greetings, no thank you, no enjoy your meal, nothing. Plus they looked unkempt in their worn out tees. No aprons.There were bugs flying all over: flies and little gnats. Mmm. Makes you wonder how clean the place is.You'd never know this place has a drive through--it is hidden. And it is not quick.The outdoor seating looks miserable, with no plants or separation from the parking: "Here, sit in a dirty parking lot."I can see why there's always a seat available!

One of the best places to eat in town. Wide variety of food & drink choices. Many healthy options. Grab one of their spritzers, they are delish!!(A bit on the "pricey" side but worth the occasional treat, plus, it's supporting local business owners!)

This coffee shop seems to have had a bad rap over the last few years. It has the atmosphere of a big warehouse and the customer service seemed to be lacking.However, at the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022, there is a new owner of this coffee shop. The first time I walked in,under the new ownership, I was greeted warmly as I entered and that made all the difference already.The coffee menu and the pastry menu are very similar to what it was before. I am still dealing with celiac disease so, the gluten-free menu as what I always look to. Their pastries definitely need to be upgraded in the gluten-free category. As of today, there was none. And talking to and listening to my wife, she says they definitely need to be homemade. 😁Overall, the coffee shop is on an upswing. We will be back and we will invite others to join us.The fifth star will show up when the gluten-free menu gets better. 🙂

I agree with others that Carl is awesome but I had a bad experience today. Came in 3 mins before closing and the entire staff except for one was super agitated and complained loudly about not being able to leave on time. Only the guy in the blue shirt, younger guy, was pleasant and even chastised the rest of the staff for their poor behavior. Older lady in glasses was especially moody and rude.

Good latte, WiFi, comfortable groups of chairs and a huge room that they manage to divide into cozy, semi- private places to hang out with a few to several other people Excellent chocolate muffins.Nice people, nice vibe. Not fancy at all but just nice. Friendly, accommodating crew.

I look forward to stopping by for a good coffee or tea. They have an extensive drink menu and a large variety of food. I know they are struggling with getting enough staff and I completely understand that. The staff they do have is incredible they are so polite and helpful. There seems to be a little inconsistencies in ordering, again, completely understandable when you are training new people. I will keep coming back and referring all to go and try them out. Definitely the best Cafe in the area and it can beat out Starbucks.

I was so excited to find a small business to support! So far I have met 1 worker that was actually kind. The outrageous priced sandwiches that we ordered were well...just that..mostly bread! I will gladly pay that price for a good sandwich, but not just mostly bread. Several times that I have ordered my drink I specifically ask for oatmilk and whipped cream, I know it doesn't make sense, my stomach doesn't either! But I also know I am not the only one that orders their specialty, I keep getting my drink with no cream after having said it 4-5 times and even repeated back to me! Then I am treated with huffiness when my drink does come and I ask for the cream again! I waited over 20 minutes for 1 drink, and 10 minutes for 6 drinks!🤷‍♀️ My hearts desire is to support these businesses but not when I am continually treated like this!

Always friendly staff and good food. Most food made on premises, so you are not getting bulk generic. Everything was clean. I go by every week and they always know my usual order. Will do phone orders as well as drive through, but I think most people prefer to walk in. Large clean seating area.

Stopped in for lunch while traveling I-70. Was planning on ordering a salad, but was pleasantly surprised to find they have gluten free bread! Had a Reuben sandwich, it was awesome. Coffee is very good. Very cozy atmosphere. I would stop here again if I’m in town.

Stopped in for what I thought would be a quick lunch, ordered my food, and then I guess they forgot about me, after about 20 minutes I was asked if I'd received my food, I politely said no... Then about 5 minutes later I was asked what my order was because they had "lost" my order ticket, although they apologized I asked for my order to go since I'd been waiting for 30-40 minutes. No excuse for poor service. My BLT was good and the Italian salad delicious but I had to rush back to work and eat at my desk... That was not my original plan. I wish the service was better.

Really good. I had the turkey club wrap. Good size for the price. Employees seemed like they didn't like each other or were just having a bad day. Either way it was good for what I had.

Nice atmosphere and the food was very good. Would give 5 star but what was either the owners or shift managers were loud and rude to an employee and my wife when she asked a question. Will return but do hope the negativity by this man and woman is not seen again.
