My husband and I stopped in yesterday for lunch while visiting Nashville for the day. We shared the Ham and Cheese sandwich with fries. They also gave us Fried biscuits and apple butter. The food was good and very hot.We could have used refills on our drinks but our waitress disappeared for almost the rest of the time we were there. She didn't even bring out our meal someone else did.The restaurant itself could do with a bit of a freshen up. Where we were seated I could see the vacuum cleaner, and other cleaning supplies.But over all we enjoyed our meal.

First off. I hate leaving any negative reviews. I believe waiters and staff are human, so I will say the food was REALLY good! The portions were ginormous foe what we ordered.I will say the sweet potato fries were definitely overcooked and were too hard for my poor mom who has no teeth, to chew.The fried biscuits and apple butter is definitely a nice touch! My dad and I really enjoyed it!My complaint is that we were a party of 9, and on our checks (me and my kids on one, my parents and brothers on another) the 18% gratuity was already put on there, and, while it was an oversight, nowhere on the menu or anywhere does it say the gratuity will be added automatically. I have worked in restaurants before, so big parties being added gratuity is totally acceptable to me, except we were told for legal purposes we have to make it visible to customers and/or tell them about it before charging them. I would highly recommend this going forward. Our server was so sweet and honestly I hope the $70 ish dollar tip she got does well for her, and made her day. You just never know the next party you will serve and what they will say if they leave a cash tip and it's on the tab already and no one has said anything about it.

My son and I stopped here for lunch after some Nashville shopping. We were seated quickly right by the fire, which was nice on an overcast chilly day. We both ordered the BOWL of the soup of the day, which was broccoli cheddar. He ordered fried pickles, and we received a basket of their complimentary biscuits with apple butter. I know there have been many changes to the restaurant business since Covid and inflation, but we barely received a cup of soup. It was a sad, sad serving. Also, both bowls were luke warm at best. In addition, I am not sure there was much cheddar in the broccoli cheddar soup. I have eaten here probably 1/2 dozen times over the past several years, and my experience has always been good, but the last 2 times, the food has been the same; small servings and mediocre quality. It does have a great atmosphere, and if you stick with what they are known for, fried chicken, you might be OK.

We went here for my mother and father-in-law 65 wedding anniversary. They were very nice extremely accommodating, and our waitress Vicki knocked it out of the park with service. Will definitely go back the sassafras tea was to die for!!!!! We had 7 family members and were all extremely happy with our food choices!! Highly recommend. The power was so sweet and even let us on early so we did not have to wait in the cold.

Ate here once before. sat outside a few years ago in the summer and the sandwich was good. We had their chicken dinner today and it was fabulous. the chicken was tender and juicy. everything tasted good. The Fried Green Tomatoes were among some of the best I have had. Our waitress Mattie gave us great service. All the staff there was very friendly. Will definitely make a trip down here more often.

What a disappointment!!! We thought we’d give this place another try because it used to be our favorite go to eatery while visiting Nashville. However, 3 strikes you’re out! Bad service, at 4:30 p.m. and there was only one other couple in the dining room! Our food took 38 minutes to be served to us and then the Turkey Manhattan was dry, potatoes cold, my fried chicken had zero flavor, my potatoes were also cold!!! Our waitress asked us 15 minutes later how our food was and we told her okay but the Turkey was dry and potatoes cold. She did ask us, if we wanted something else and we told her no thank you! We have somewhere else to be. She acted upset. Quite frankly we didn’t have time to wait another 38 minutes for new food. She said she was going to get her manager which said manager never appeared. Another lady came by asked how our food was and we very nicely told her. We also told her we intended to pay our bill in full and tipped respectively at 18% for poor service! She copped an attitude too!!! Totally rude! This is the 3rd time in 7 months that we’ve experienced poor service, bad food, and slow delivery from the kitchen! I’d skip this place and go next door to The Ordinary! They’re always great!

Entering in, the atmosphere was extremely inviting. A musician played live from the second floor looking down into the lobby shop. Once seated, all around is wooden. Original paintings line the walls like a gallery-- nearly all for sale. Take time to look at them! As for food, we tried the fried chicken and the beef Manhattan. I was a big fan of how the beef tasted on the Manhattan! We ordered green beans as a side, which were a good country-style level of delicious. The fried chicken, though fried nicely, was lacking flavor. We weren't quite impressed by the blandness. However, this was made up for by how fantastic the ranch tasted! We smothered our bites of chicken with ranch and were satisfied in the end.

It was very cute and the server was nice, but the service was super slow (despite there being very few dining at the time). I just ordered a side salad with grilled chicken (which doubled the cost of the salad) and the chicken was completely inedible. When the server finally came back to check on the table, me and the other person who ordered the same dish told the server that the chicken tasted like lighter fluid or a cleaner. She said she would go try the chicken herself and I finished my salad and put the chicken on a separate plate. When she came back, we were told that they rarely clean the grill so it couldn’t have been a cleaner, and that maybe we just didn’t like the taste of charbroiled chicken. We told her that certainly wasn’t it but didn’t complain further. When she came back with the checks, the server told us for next time to let her know something is wrong before we eat the dish (despite us telling her when she first came back), and the chicken wasn’t taken off the bill, despite the fact I didn’t eat it. I would not eat here again and I certainly would NEVER recommend any sort of chicken from this restaurant.

Appetizers were good. Fried mushrooms were giant (recommend putting them with the house made tangy sauce that comes with the Salt Creek Shrimp).Fried biscuits and apple butter are so delicious but if you want a second round you won’t get them, even if you acknowledge you will pay for them. They won’t bring them.Nashville House Fried Chicken is half a fried chicken and delicious. Recommended for sure. The fresh green beans are not cooked, very crunchy, straight from the garden. We prefer our veggies cooked, even if they are “fresh.”The Beef Manhattan was the disappointment of the day. Dry, not near enough gravy, super fatty beef, two pieces of giant sized bread (one would have been plenty) and the whole thing tasted scorched. This dish also came with the raw fresh green beans which were not even eatable. Do not recommend this dish at all.Servers were friendly. The staff over all was very pleasant. Kudos for that!

Excellent and clean place to try and enjoy the traditional American food- biscuits wiht their famous apple butter, hands down Fried Chicken, beef brisket. The time we went is the off-peak season, it is not too busy and the waitress Sabrina was so nice and severed us decently. Great decoration in the restaurant, including the lovely seasonal Halloween painted pumpkins.

The meal was great once it arrived. Everyone else had burgers, Fried chicken dinners, meatloaf. I have a desire to try Cobb Salads when I se them on the menu. The concern was everyone else was about halfway through the meal when it arrived. The Cobb salad was prepared well. No one had any problems with what was served. Just a timing issue that created awkwardness and uncomfortable concerns for all. This was my second time there. The first time was the Fried Chicken dinner well prepared good service. Shame about second visit🤔.

I wanted to like this place and the food was okay or maybe it was the mood that was set.. the bartender (maybe manager as she was spatting with one of the girls about not putting her on the schedule because she missed a meeting). Her attitude was just crap as if she hated working with the public but wanted everyone to know she was in charge.. It took 10 minutes to just get our drinks. Then we had to hear the girl with the nose ring talk about how her new tattoo itched so bad while I’m trying to eat.. they were hovering all right there talking about stuff I didn’t want to hear about at all. The only nice girl was the red headed one, unfortunately she wasn’t our server. My Wife and I were honestly ready to leave half way through our lunch. The place seems neat but those ladies ruined lunch for us.

We were shopping in Nashville before Christmas and decided to eat here. The dining room looked festive with garland on the fireplace. It was quite busy so the bartender, Izzy, a true team player pitched in and served tables. We both had grilled ham and cheese with fries. We appreciated the delicious fried biscuits with apple butter while we waited. Our sandwiches and fries were hot and fresh. Great service! We got a huge cookie on our way out! It was awesome!

I gave it 3 stars because of the wait time, 45min for the quality of food was not worth the wait. Was told could not have fried chicken for another 45min due to kitchen issues. This was my 1st visit. Not sure what the standard is. Traveled from Hancock Co. to eat here. Was told it was amazing but, it was mediocre.

Have eaten here many times over the last few years. A friend and I come to shop about twice a year and usually do lunch exclusively at Nashville House. Over the years we've only had one sub par experience which was related to wait staff. The food was still excellent with that visit. Overall the food is very good, I particularly like the fried green tomatoes, generous portion and tasty but not overwhelming batter. Fried chicken, plenty to eat and yummy. I also love the grilled ham and cheese, this is my go to. Simple but always hits the spot and I love their French fries. Service is typically very good and our food is out promptly, hot and not a long wait. Highly recommend when you are in town!Update for 5/2024- Again great food and fabulous service, our server was Vicki. Super sweet and friendly, attentive without being pushy. Would recommend and will request her on future visits. Thank you Vicki, you made our trip fun!

Food was good, service was terrible. 230pm waited about 20 mins to get seated which is not bad for this place. We were seated outside. View was nice. I like to people watch. Took our server 10 mins to take our drink orders, we got the drinks 10 mins after that. Took 20 mins to get our fried mushrooms. We ordered everything at one time. Took another 50 mins to get our food. Ugh...i would have gave 5 star if service was faster. Check out the pictures.

This is a must visit resturant to eat in Nashville Indiana. The blackened salmon salad was to good - I just had to dive in before taking a picture. My husband enjoyed the build-your-burger, which he enjoyed very much. The staff was attentive and responded quickly to any request, eventhough they were very busy. (Mayo, extra tea) Did not try any cocktails, however they use liquors at all levels to fit anyone's taste buds. We will be going there again!

First it was not extremely busy. I live near Nashville so I see how busy places can get here. They told us it was a fifteen minute wait. We waited 45 and didn't get sat till I said something. The food was fine but expensive for what it was. And our waitress never came back to refill our drinks. Overall I will say these issues have everything to do with management and the way they train.
