Sad to say we visit Sycamore more than we should! The bubbas are our usual go to for a frozen treat, check out the daily flavor specials!The drive thru line may be intimidating but it moves quickly, or park and walk up, there are several tables to sit at under the trees.

Stop on our way back from semi-state softball game. Monticello Sycamore Drive In. Food is great. Ice cream was wonderful. Everyone had a smile and were friendly. And it was a half hour from closing. Great people.

Way overpriced, extremely long wait, the prices on the board don't match what the charge, they don't provide a receipt unless you ask and it isn't itemized. A "steamed cheeseburger" is $5 and is literally chopped ground beef with cheese. The Italian Beef was $9 and had one layer or roast beef. A small chocolate malt was advertised as $3 but was charged $5 each any only had about 8 oz. Definitely do not understand the 5 star reviews and would not return again or recommend.

They have really great stuff, I love their milkshakes. However it gets a 1 star because of a really rude individual. It’s ok to be frustrated but you can’t talk to people rudely especially when you are at work. And this is not the 1st time people have experienced this. They lost a few customers. To bad because the place is really great

Happened to be in town to try another restaurant and decided to pop in here. Was very surprised at how cheap it was for the quality of ice cream. We had a couple sundaes and a banana split, all were excellent and prices were far below what we expected. Also had lots of options (added menu pics). Will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

The best ice cream(custard) place around. They have custard, soft serve, and dole whip. Also they have really good coney dogs. The menu is big, especially for dessert choices and it is fresh.

Excellent ice cream and strawberry/lemon shake-up. They said they make their custard fresh every morning. They also use fresh fruit, and it really shows in the tastiness of the final products. I recommend parking and walking up for the quickest service.

I’ve been coming here for 5 years. Today my 2 year old and I came to get nachos. My son gets a supreme without jalapeños. They put jalapeños on it, no problem I just turn around because I tried to pick them off but the juice was all over and too spicy for him. The owner got very rude with me saying I should have said no jalapeños when I did and the worker at the window repeated herself. He also rolled his eyes when he was like your 2 year old eats tomato, onion, and sour cream on his nachos. I will not be returning and neither will any of my family.

This is my favorite custard place in the entire world. There are a few places I like to go. Whenever I am in Monticello and it is summer I love to stop in here.I don't know why, but their ice cream is just better than most custard stands.

Delicious! We loved the shake a sundae (I think it is called!) Where you choose what kind of sundae you put on top of your shake! What a concept! And what a variety our group came up with! Lol! Delicious and fast, regardless of how long the line is!

We had never been here before and were hoping to make it our new favorite ice cream spot close to home.. I was less than impressed. The girl who took our order was nice and was able to answer my questions about menu items. The girl on the other end where we picked up our choices was rude and seemed like she could care less because it was close to closing time. We ended up getting a strawberry shake and a hot turtle. The shake seemed small for the price and my turtle sundae was alright, not horrible but not spectacular. We may go back and try again on another day but it may be awhile.

Good product but service was less than satisfactory on 2 of the 4 occasions I was there. Pulled in at 930 pm bc Google said they were open until 10 and the Open sign was facing out. A middle aged man answered the window "Yeah?"."Oh, are you closed?""Well yeah we close at 9" in a tone that implied that it was an idiotic question.The next day we drove up as we were leaving town. I asked for a small cup with "just a little vanilla and a little chocolate for my 3 yr old". Something they had made on 2 other occasions just days before for the small serving price. I was told the manager said they "no longer do that". I was left with the option of purchasing a medium just to fulfill a 1/2 and 1/2 request. I was delivered a small cup with exactly what I ordered. I didn't mind paying a little extra but on prinicple it made for a bad experience. The custard is good and at least half the staff was very pleasant but it seams management can use a lesson in pleasantry and manners.

I've been a life-long fan of Sycamore's. It all started when I was a kid - we would go to the one on Logansport. As an adult living in Delphi, the one in Monticello is a better location for me. I absolutely love their chocolate banana shakes, chipwiches, and turtle sundaes. Sometimes even just a plain chocolate shake is enough. If you're in the mood for a pint, and are a fan of maple, you NEED to try the maple bun - OMG that stuff is amazing. I seriously can't say enough - I will love this place forever. ❤️

Haven't had anything I didnt like. I really like the frozen mocha latte they make. They also have good homemade sugar free vanilla ice cream, which they dont advertise. You will just have to ask for it.

This place is super busy, with cars waiting on the street to pull in. It is worth the wait. Don't be discouraged about a long line. Visit with people while you're waiting and it will always be an amazing experience. You simply need to slow down sometimes.

First time visiting Monticello and my girlfriend said I had to come here and I was not disappointed at all! Friendly hard working staff and awesome food! Peanut butter shake and an Italian beef sandwich! Wow! No wonder it's a staple stop!-The Nashville Pianoman
