Great establishment & place to shop for what I need, however the employee “Jessica” is by far one of the rudest I’ve ever met while shopping. Constantly on her phone, I am never able to get checked out when she is working. I enjoy going here when she isn’t working as everybody else working seems to do their jobs incredibly well.

Probably one of the most unkept dollar general's I've been in. And that is saying something. Upon entering the staff didn't even glance up but kept up in their loud gossip and conversation that made me glad I didn't have my kids with me. Upon getting to the check out, not one employee came to check me out. I ended up heading over to self check out. Once there was another person waiting, an employee begrudgingly checked him out. Leaving the store was hectic as it was so cluttered and dirty. We won't be returning.

They have really cleaned up their act! The store was clean. The isles were clear. The workers were busy and nice. The cashier knew what to do and how to use the $5.00 off coupon. The shelves were not full, but what store has full shelves since Covid? Good job Dollar General!

horrible store, messy, and not to mention the workers are all non friendly and don’t talk to customers. Why go here when there is a 100x better DG down the road!

Went in on a Sunday afternoon after I got off of work, the young lady working was obviously not happy about being there. She said in a snide way that she was at checkout #1, like I knew were that was. She pretty much dropped my change in my hand like she was afraid to touch me. Now obviously I don't expect human contact, but you don't have to treat me like I've got something. Yea probably the worst one I've ever been in, and we all know that there are a lot of D.Gs aroundIf I were her supervisor, I would definitely have a talk with her on her P.R. a bit of advice for her,,,, make sure you finish school.

Moved here from kentucky- my youngest girl scanned a battery (in kentucky they let the kids scan a battery)- no big deal right? It teaches kids the registers and the appreciation of buying things and not stealing and making shopping - a fun experience. Ok so before this happen, I was shopping there and the lady wasn't nice from the get go and she says tonight - it isn't our job to "control someone's kids".... I wasn't asking anyone to control my kids and I said in a nicely way, I was sorry but possibly my kids were taught wrong. The problem is - the lady has no respect with people in general - a Hispanic neighbor went in thinking it was her race when the same manager said after her son took a water bottle in "so you are paying for two?"... The lady looked at her saying "no" puzzled I am paying for one water bottle as in it was her sons last one and she was going in to buy him another one... The Hispanic lady was told she is a nice lady but she doesn't deal good with the public.... Well after that being said and she gets upset with several people, whom would hire someone as a manager if she doesn't have the appropriate skills to run a business or let alone, be a manager. Someone needs to get someone in there with better communication skills; someone that appreciates the value of their job and for the people. I can't even shop there without worrying of her yelling at me. I get yelled at by enough people in my life, why go inside a business and every time be yelled at for putting a card in wrong or this or that done wrong in her eyes of not being perfect and a manager getting upset over the little things in life, instead of her appreciating the life she does have and taking that at value. She needs a different job and the dollar general needs a better manager hired that can deal with people in a timely manner without frustration and impatience. I don't know if the lady has some emotional problems not related to her job going on, but she shouldn't take out our frustrations on other people within some business atmosphere. Someone needs to figure out what is wrong with this lady but how can you strike up a conversation with someone belittling every action you do? I guess that isn't my responsibility as a customer but I might ask, what is wrong ma'-am with your life for you to treat people with such disrespect? Hopefully some Christians can go in there and make a change in this older lady's life because I don't know what is going on, but she needs God in her life. I don't know why she is treating people like she is, but something has to be seriously wrong for her to do the actions she is doing. It doesn't make it right, but she needs some kind of help that I can't give her! God bless her, hopefully she will try not to show frustration in her life and have God in her life because that's what she needs when things get difficult.

When i ealked into the store i was met by an older woman that works there. I don't know if it what I had on or the way I appear. But, she had a instant dislike for me. I am in the medical field and know that how we treat people matters.None the less I passed it off as my imagination. As I was shopping she met me in the Isle a time or two, again with snide remarks. I was looking for a wooden dish drainer for my summer home. But as I continued to shop in the store I found a few other items that I needed, and had the sudden call to use the rest room. I placed my articles in the hamper I was planning to purchase at the end of the counter out of others way and asked for a key to the restroom. The response was a huff, and handing me the key to the men's room saying.."the public uses the men's room ". I said ok. And proceeded to the most filthy restroom I had ever encountered. Obviously no one cleans it...when I went back to the counter to retrieve my things she had put them all back saying I left them in the way of the carts. It took all I had not to stoop to her level, I exited the store and spent my 150.00 at walmart. I will NEVER shop at that store again. And I spend my entire summers here in beautiful Monticello at our summer home.Very sad...

Dollar General N Main St Monticello INJust visited this store. Face masks are required your sign says on the front doors. But why didn’t the male cashier have one on???
