This is a great store. Someone is usually offering to help you right away. Several areas of this store are worth noting because I think they excel. One is their paint department, which was recently expanded into the neighboring building. Another is the grilling/smoking section, which has a great variety and selection. Third is the hardware area. If you need something specific or unusual, their Hillman line is pretty extensive.I try to shop local as much as possible and I definitely recommend this Ace store.

I like the service always someone available to help. I get discount offers each month an occasionally a appreciation gift which offsets the slightly higher prices they need to pay for the helpful employees. It’s my “go to” place.

The majority, if not all, of the staff at this Ace are friendly, helpful, and fast at finding what you need. The store is always kept very clean and is never under-staffed. It shows great volume that the owners respond to reviews, even negative ones, in positive, friendly manners and try to correct any mis-doings in a professional manner. The owners have always been very active with the Monticello community and it's great to have family-owned businesses/franchises around our town.

I would just like to say that Ace Hardware Monticello went above and beyond to get my product. When I placed the order, because it wasn’t at the store, never could I have imagined the level of customer service that received. Brad was a huge help. Always keeping me informed On the progress of my order. And actually going to pick it up when it came in. Ace truly is the place. And Monticello Ace Hardware is where I have always gone and will continue to go for all my hardware needs. Thank you Brad as well as the entire staff for your kind and courteous service.

Decent little hometown store. A little on the pricey side. Like 5.99 for a 20 fl oz. Bottle of 10w30 lol (ace brand) when I got a 1 qt bottle of john Deere turf defense 10w30 at the greenmark for the same price. No brainer. Tools are expensive as all get out here as well. I am curious to see what they do with the expansion though. Maybe it will help with the selection and in turn help to bring down the prices. They are however always attentive to my needs when I walk in. They ask what I am looking for and will even give advice if asked. Not a bad store, just really easy to find better prices on better brands else where.

Great staff. I didn't have to look for a thing. They asked what I needed and escorted me to the items. The store owner even took the shopping cart back when I finished loading my car.

Disappointed after walking into the store to find about half the staff of employees not wearing masks. Asked one young man who was an employee there where his mask was and he said in his pocket and turned around and walk away. Some employees were wearing their masks properly several were not wearing it properly and several did not even have a mask on. In this day and age this is unacceptable, I’m 68 years old if I can’t walk in to Ace and feel comfortable I’ll take my business elsewhere. Just dropped $275. Let’s hope I don’t get infected!

Shopping at Monticello Ace hardware is usually a pleasant experience. The staff are knowledgeable about what they sell and always try to help you. Prices are normally on the higher end of normal, but not out of line for small town convenience. They seem to have the staff trained to try to help everyone to find what they want and move you through the store, so be ready to be asked by everyone you encounter if you need help.

Nice little place and they always have what I need.... I looked all over the place and even went to a plumbing supply 4 and older drain for a double stainless steel sink everyone's like you have to change the sink out then I went to Ace they had the parts

Ace Hardware has a large variety of items to choose from. If you are working on a home project they are likely to have what you need. They carry a variety craftsman tools also. Where Ace Hardware falls short is on price. They are usually higher than anyone else. The downside of being located in a small town.
