We live in a small town, so grocery items are limited.For what it is, it's a decent store, if you want better then there's walmart 20 minutes south or 20 minutes north.This store works good for some folks that are fixed budgets etc, staff is friendly and quality is decent as well.

I would much rather that we still had the Kroger store we used to have here with a Deli, fried chicken, bakery etc. But, I guess it's better than nothing. Selection isn't great but at today's prices it works. At least we have a grocery store.

Nothing like standing in line for a self checkout and only checkout lane with a human is backed 2/3 the way to the back of the store.

Went to this store today and found it average for a discount grocery store. Decent prices and a fair selection of products. However I also found that only one of the workers there was wearing a mask. The rest had them on their chins or below their nose, didn't feel safe at all since some of them were coughing. I asked the girl at the checkout who was the one that was wearing a mask correctly about this. She said it was very hard to work for 8 hours with a mask. They had only been open an hour! I reminded her that doctors and nurses wear them that long or longer, basically said they don't do heavy work. Nurses especially do a lot of strenuous activity. Is this Kroger/Ruler policy now? Does this store have a manager?

The staff at our only grocery in town is great. The store not so much. Kroger is forcing their brand on our small by pulling out the full service Jay C store and replacing it with a full generic minimal option Rule store. Our town deserves and can support a full service grocery store. We shop elsewhere as much as possible and let our money do the talking, hoping eventually a full service store will fill the void, or Kroger will bring back more options.

Most popular items are represented. Not all are in stock. Not enough lanes are generally open to service customers. The ones that are open are usually quick, friendly and efficient.

Staff to out of their way to help you with what you need. They don't have everything that a full size grocery has, but their selection has improved since they have opened. I go here quite often when we need groceries. They are usually always busy.

This is a great little store. Recently, doors were put on coolers, and I like this feature. This is a very clean store, and everyone who works there is super friendly and helpful.

Found the place clean and well stocked. It has moved from a former location, across the street, but Google maps still shows the original location.

Very limited items. Cashier was exceptionally rude. Slammed my items in the cart. Did not speak to me even though I did speak to her, kindly I might add. Gave me my receipt without saying thank you or anything.Then turned to talk to someone else.

It is basically a Kroger store without a pharmacy and if you don't want to buy bags you better take some with you

I am not a fan of being forced to pick store brand items. Unfortunately, I don't think this will change when the fabulous new Ruler across the street opens! On a positive side, maybe that store won't smell terrible.

Offset of Kroger (and JayC), cheaper prices but I'd stay away from the wise owl brand unless its your only choice.Update: January 20th 2019. Employee was cleaning the restroom without gloves, then decides to check me out without washing his hands or even using hand sanitizer. He also seemed to be baffled as to why I was rightfully mad.I really like some of the employees but this will keep me from shopping here for the foreseeable future.

Just went in the store and purchased a small bag of ice that apparently didn't exist but they sold it to me anyways and so I went back into the store to get a refund and wouldn't you know it, the BOSS didn't exist either to get me my $ back🤔 personally I believe Mitchell Indiana is way to big to just have 1 grocery store 🙃🤑

Mitchell, IN, Ruler carries very basic groceries. No Italian or French bread (fresh). No frozen peas - not even a location for them in the freezer. Ruler corporate sets staff levels so low that it's difficult for workers stocking shelves to open extra registers. Ruler corporate says the "new" store will have a larger alcoholic beverage selection. Just what we need - more alcoholic beverages. Hey corporate, give us more food selections to satisfy our meal needs. We HAD shopped JayC first but not now. We go to Ruler for basics, then Bedford Also, then Walmart and lastly Bedford JayC for sale items. BTW, Mitchell JayC served the best fried chicken - better than KFC. Bedford JayC is too far to go for chicken that isn't as good as what Mitchell used to serve. We now buy KFC.

I love Rulers in Mitchell I have trouble walking so I'm so glad to see wheel chairs that really helps my shopping and I love the cheap prices and great food and the people that work there are great. Thank you

I bought they're 80/20 ground chuck not only did it have a 80/20 fat but it had about a quarter of a cup of water in it that's Kroger me for you rip off

I can't stand having to pay for bags. Limited food choices. Definitely miss Jay C
