Hillside boarding and kennel is by far the best boarding/daycare facility for pets I have ever seen. The staff take extremely well care of the dogs and take time to get to know each one and go the extra mile to make sure they are comfortable and the best quality of care. They also have very great pricing. They took the time to explain to me the different types of foods that may be beneficial to my pup after I expressed my concerns about him losing weight and his dry skin. They then also provided me with sample to give to my pup to try. My boy would not eat his previous food at all. But he really enjoys fromm. They also gave great instructions on how to integrate the new food into is diet to avoid any gastrointestinal issues. The owners and staff really truly care about every dog and cat that comes into their facility. It is not just a job but they are truly passionate about the work that they do. I'd recommend this facility to anyone seeking boarding, daycare, and even training for their dog!

Edit To Review: I purchased two sweet Scotties from Hillside in 2014 and 2015. I originally was very happy with Hillside, but I no longer can support them. My first pup died at age 3 due to cancer. When I contacted Hillside to let them know, their response was to offer condolences and then send me a link to an article suggesting that using RoundUp is linked to cancer. We had never used anything to treat our lawn, and the message suggesting we did something to cause this really hurt. Our second pup has developed Cushing's Disease at age 4 which our vet has informed us is very rare for a pup his age. Both Scottish Terriers I purchased from Hillside had major health issues at a young age. When I adopted a third Scottie, I went with another breeder, because I did not trust Hillside's breeding and worried I may get another pup that would pass away too soon. I do know that they haven't been breeding Scotties for as long as they have Schnauzers and I cannot speak to their other breeds, but I would not recommend purchasing a Scottie from Hillside.Original Review: We purchased two Scottish Terriers from Hillside and absolutely adore them. They have sweet dispositions! When we have them groomed, the groomer always lets us know they have a beautiful coat and the correct hair pattern which indicates good breeding. I highly recommend checking out pups from Hillside. You may have to email them, since it seems that their website it usually a bit out of date.

We haven't taken our pups here for boarding services, but we have taken them here for grooming.They do a fantastic job! Our boys both love it here.. they always come back looking good and they're so happy! I would recommend them to anyone!

Hillside Boarding and Kennel was an amazing experience for both my wife and I and our two golden retrievers. We felt extremely safe leaving our two our pets in their care. We also really appreciated the fair pricing. Because of the convenience and fair pricing, my wife and I actually have chosen to drive all of the way from VA to Hillside Boarding Kennel with our two golden retrievers to board them at Hillside instead of leaving them in VA. Our dogs always enjoyed ample play time and really liked spending time with the other dogs on their visits. We would strongly recommend this dog boarding facility to anyone looking for a great dog boarding option in southern Indiana.

Very professional and attentive to detail. Looks great in the reception area where you drop the dogs off. I was reassured that I would be called if anything came up with my dogs while I was away, and that was comforting. Will definitely use them again when we travel in the future! My dogs were happy and clean when I picked them up.

I bought a standard schnauzer from Sherry during COVID. Winston has been such a joy here in Dallas. The perfect dog. They are champion line schnauzers! If i could give 10 stars , i would !

Boarding was Ok, but don’t arrive at 12:10pm (doesn’t actually close til 2) otherwise you’ll get the late fee per dog 😒. Pretty significant when boarding 3 dogs. Not very flexible for a new client…Thank you but Won’t return.

We can not say enough about how happy we are with our puppy! Justin was so helpful, knowledgable and patient with us as (expectant parents). Our Mini Schnauzer is not only sweet but super smart! Highly recommended breeder! We will be using them again in the future!

I strongly recommend not using these boarders. I called them on a Thursday to get prices & details. I liked what I heard and told the man I was talking to that I would check with my wife when she got home in about 3 hours to verify, but I was pretty sure we wanted to board our dog there for our vacation. He stressed that I needed to let him know within a couple of days since they were expecting to have a large number of dogs incoming. At that point, I told him to book it but he insisted I check with my wife. Three hours later I call to confirm, but no one answers phone. I leave a voice mail with my name & phone number repeated twice and clearly confirm that yes, we wanted to board our dog for 12 days beginning the 11th Oct. No return call. I then call again, leave the same message the next day and again, no return call. I just called again 20 minutes ago and got the owner on the phone. She said they have no records of my calls, the original or the two follow ups. I am now stuck with no boarder for the 12 days of our vacation. Thanks, Hillside!! Wonderful way to run a business...NOT!!

The only place we trust with our German Shepherds, who are very dear and very, very expensive dogs and parts of our family. Excellent results from a training class we did with them as well. I am taking my two new GSD pups there as soon as they reopen post-bat flu. It is also the only kennel that I trust to safely handle my large intact male GSD who is very dangerous to any strange person or animal. He gets his own personal indoor and outdoor suite, connected by a little door, where he can stay and even share his enclosure with our female to keep him company. Nobody gets bit and he is safe and sound and can even get some fresh air outside. Happy times. They have a very clean an nice facility as well. Modern, fresh, clean, has a nice doggy gift shop out front.

We love Hillside. The staff spent time ensuring my little girl was matched with her perfect puppy, which resulted in a perfect fit for my daughter's service dog. No doubt in my mind this bloodline saved my daughter's life as our sweet Esme caught seizures throughout the day and night and alerted us when they were not typical. My daughter was being misdiagnosed secondary to the way they presented, thanks to Esme we were able to track and argue with medical professionals until they performed testing. Sure enough her epilepsy and symptoms had completely changed. We are forever grateful for Hillside and our sweet Esme Hope.

I've brought my dogs here for baths and grooming as well as bording them on a few occasions. MY DOGS LOVE IT. They are happy to stay there and slow to leave. The owners and staff are friendly animal people and clearly care for our animals as if they were their own. I'm always afraid when I go on vacation but knowing how well my dogs are cared for puts my mind at ease.

I can not recommend this business. We have boarded our dog here 4 times. 3 out of those 4 we have had a bad experience. Shame on us for giving them chances to redeem themselves. Last 2 times we asked that our dog be bathed and groomed. both times when we came to pick up our dog it had not been done. No apology either time, just excuses. When we picked him up he smelled terrible. He doesn't act right and he is sneezing. Hope he is not sick. When asked why he was not groomed i was treated rudely. Why doesn't anyone do what they say they are going to do. When you take your pet to a boarder you should not have to worry he is being taken care of .. Never again..........

They have a very knowledgeable staff, who are friendly and helpful. I trust them with my Kody. All the dogs are required to have their shots up-to-date. They have training classes with knowledgeable trainers. Kody goes to doggie daycare and I board him there. He has a blast there with other dogs and he loves the staff

I always worry on the rare occasions I travel without my dog but he had a great time at Hillside and they seem to genuinely care about animals of all sorts. The place is clean and there is always someone on site. After one visit I'd recommend it to anyone.

Knowledgeable, helpful, friendly! It's not often I can leave a groomer with my dog, then turn right around and get her to happily go back in (I forgot something!). For me this speaks volumes about the handling and care she got.

We only went inside to ask a question. Staff was very friendly. Just from what I saw while I was there, they have a huge selection of pet food, toys & supplies. Will definitely have to return and do some shopping.
