From the doctors to the nurses and the staff, everyone at MCAH has always been so kind, patient and very loving to my animals. You can tell from the first appt here that everyone cares about the animals and “pet parents” that they encounter. I’ve never felt rushed or not listened to and they’ve always taken every concern I’ve had and answered all of my questions and been so kind. You all are appreciated more than you know! I'm extremely impressed with this hospital. An amazing facility. It's the latest in diagnostic technology. The staff are friendly and there to make both us comfortable and at ease. They tend to every need.We were checked in quickly and within five minutes, we were in an exam room speaking with the doctor.He did a physical exam and went over my concerns. He explained the procedure from start to finish. I dropped him off for the day to get CT. I receive texts periodically throughout the day updating me on his status.This is the only animal hospital that has CT scan imaging within reasonable driving distance.I was given a tour of the facilities. It's top of the line in veterinary hospitals.I feel assured leaving my boy here. I know he'll be in good hands.

Dr Bailey and his staff love animals an it shows in the way they care for our animals. We have been amazed at how advanced they are in their treatments. And, there is always a vet available when needed. We Love Dr Bailey; there is no better vet around to care for our kids!!

Dr.Bailey is the best! He's super knowledgeable with a great bedside manner. You can tell he is very passionate about his practice and what he does. We currently have 2 Rotts and 3 Exotics that we take to him and have seen him with other animals for the past 30 years! The other staff are always very friendly and helpful too! We trust them fully and can't recommend them enough!

Staff is kind and compassionate. They treat our pets like their own. They work exceptionally with the outgoing friendly pets as well as with the more shy and scared pets. They meet your pet where they are at. They have been with us through some highs and lows in the years. We trust them with our pets lives. They have the technology needed to diagnose and treat your pet. Not to mention the knowledge.

I truly cannot say enough about this facility! Not only did they get our girl all fixed up in a somewhat emergency situation, but the compassion and care the doctors and nurses have here is absolutely unmatched! Dr. Patillo was SO kind & professional and she was loving on our June girl just as much as we do within seconds of walking into the room! Highly recommend.

Michigan City Animal Hospital sets a very high bar in customer and pet care. We were greeted with a warm welcome by the receptionist team and promptly taken to a room, where a thorough understanding of my concerns was documented by the nursing staff. I was seeking follow-up care and advice after an ER visit, and Dr. Patillo patiently answered all of my questions to ensure I left with an understanding of my pet’s diagnosis and how to best manage it. This practice combines professionalism, expertise, caring and compassion in the best possible way.

Love the staff. Sylo loves them, too. Dr. Dehnart took wonderful care of my old boy, Sylo has arthritis and is 20 years old. The difference the shot made him is huge!!! He purrrrs all the time now. He is moving around so much better, and being I am such a holistic treatment kind of person. There are no side effects from the meds. The fact that yall care so much makes me trust what you do. When my cat is sick, that is one less thing I gotta worry about. I love that Sylo gets a report card as well.

I can’t say enough nice things about Michigan city Animal Hospital and the great care that my dog Red Christmas(RC) receives from them. I have a very mischievous but lovable golden retriever that gets into so many things. Every time I have some kind of issue the doctors always figure out a way to squeeze me in their schedule and see RC as soon as possible. RC also has A medical condition that is not typical. Dr. Standiford was able to diagnose it by seeing a video of what happens to him during these episodes that he gets. She went above and beyond and contacted Purdue University to get me in there so they can do a thorough exam with an MRI to confirm his illness. My dog has also eaten a Brillo pad that Dr. Bailey had to surgically remove from his stomach. All in all my dog is very healthy and always happy to go to the clinic to see the doctors. I can’t say enough great things about the staff and the doctors at Michigan city animal Hospital. They put my mind to rest that my baby is in such great hands.

I was so very pleased with the way my kitty and I were treated. Dr. Bailey and his nurse were so thorough and gentle and although the news they had to give me was not what I had hoped for, I knew a very thorough exam had been done.

I recently moved to michigan city and hadn’t established a primary vet for my dogs when I needed to get them in pretty quickly.I was able to call in on a Friday afternoon and get in later that evening. I felt so bad when I got there, I could tell they were doing closing duties. Everyone was so kind and friendly despite our short-notice, late evening appointment.Dr. Dehnart and his tech (I missed her hame) were very friendly and playful with my dogs. It was sweet to see they wanted my dogs to feel safe. Everything ended up being okay with my dogs. I felt so silly for bringing them in for what ended up being nothing, but the staff reassured me it was not a problem. Very thankful for their kind help!

Michigan City Animal Hospital is the place you want to take your pets for their health care. The staff and doctors are the best around. The facility is clean and organized and they always stay current and modern with their practices. They have incorporated texting into their ways of communication and that makes it so easy to communicate with their staff. Especially when I have busy days but still need to talk to them. They also have Dr. Bailey and he is the best around!

All staff at this hospital are phenomenal. They are incredibly helpful and consistently understanding. They have always been patient, kind, and willing to help my pets, especially my aggressive dog. I would recommend them 1000x over. You cannot find a better hospital to treat your animals. They care not only about your pet, but also about you. The best vet I have ever encountered.

Been w/ MCAH for over 20 years and four Rottweilers. Dr. Bailey and team are professional, awesome and caring. We live in Michigan but don't mind the travel to their Indiana practice. Always provide sound advice and treatment and are accommodating. I suspect would be very hard to find another practice like this - luckily we don't need to look. It will be a sad day for pets and owners when Dr. Bailey retires- hopefully not for a long time. Drs. Standiford, Fairchild and Dehnart round out the team and the staff are equally good complimenting this longstanding business. They've treated every single one of our Rotts w/ compassion from puppyhood to end of life. We couldn't thank them enough for being there.

My experience with Michigan City Animal Hospital has been truly amazing. I have not felt like this in years about my veterinarian experience with my pet. They immediately reviewed the material I sent regarding the issues my pet was having. After laboratory and radiology tests a date was set for surgery to do a biopsy and fix a torn CCL in her rear paw. Now 2 1/2 weeks later she is well on her way to recovery and I have answers about her high liver enzymes. Thank you Dr. Bailey and all of the staff at Michiana City Anmal Hospital. The care given to my pet, the response time regarding questions or issues and the apps available to expedite contact for customers are all top notch.

A receptionist accused me of stealing flea and tick medication. She said she had handed it to me but she hadn’t. I emptied my pockets, showed the inside of my purse, and offered to let her search me because I would never do that. She was pretty upset but said she would count the medication at the end of the day.I never heard the result of her count of the flea and tick medication, but now every time I go in, when I receive medication, they have a second person present seemingly so two people can attest that it was given to me.Another time, the woman at the front wouldn’t let me make an appointment for a kitten I had gotten because my bill was past due. I told her I hadn’t received a bill and she said that’s because they hadn’t mailed it yet. (I suppose they waited to mail it because my older cat had recently passed away and they wanted to give it some time which is understandable but don’t yell at me for not paying it.)A third time, they said they could accept my mom’s card if I brought in her cat, so I did. Her cat ended up needing medication. I went to check out with my mom’s card as previously discussed on the phone and she wouldn’t let me and treated me absolutely awfully. I ended up not being able to pay and so she withheld the medication. The veterinarian felt awful about the whole thing and brought the medication to our house which was so incredibly kind.It’s embarrassing working with the front, I don’t know what the issue is there, they seem to have it in their head that I’m some hardened criminal. I gather they must have a lot of theft, but it’s still hurtful.The veterinarians are really good so I don’t make a fuss but I hate knowing they think poorly of me for some reason. Please keep in mind that these experiences are over the course of 15 years of going there and there have been good experiences too. Our dogs love them. Our cats hate them, but this is really just a reflection of how cats feel about going on a car ride and being handled by strangers and not a reflection of any veterinarian or staff.

We’ve taken all of ours cats here for a few years now- Moo Moo and Boots (now our cat Confetti). The vet techs and veterinarians know our cat Moo Moo VERY well due to severe allergies. 😂They whole facility has always been kind and patient with us. They’re understanding with finances and have helped when they can.Currently, our cat Moo Moo is hospitalized with them due to her not eating and her liver and pancreas becoming severely inflamed from it. We had to take her to an emergency vet, since it was after hours, and it was the WORST experience ever. During our ER trip, Dr. Standiford called to check up on us (after hours) and sent our last lab results over via email to us, in case the emergency vet wanted to look at them. They didn’t and we had a terrible experience, so we transferred care to Michigan City ASAP and they were so accommodating. They saw her right away, examined her gently, and spoke with us about the game plan. Dr. Denhart helped us today, running tests and placing a feeding tube, since she hadn’t eaten for almost 48 hours at that point. We received a call a little while ago with an update on the results, our cat is improving and just “hanging out”. We just have to wait and see what happens next. The amount of money they charged us for up to 4 days for hospitalization was a better deal versus the other vet we first saw (one night of hospitalization). The other vet didn’t even bother placing a feeding tube last night, instead they tried to just get our cat to eat on her own, which led to her not eating longer than we would have liked!My husband and I are so glad and grateful that we have found such a great vet! We trust their judgement and they clearly all love their jobs. The vets we have seen there when Dr. Standiford isn’t available have all been AMAZING too. We will always go to them first and recommend them to everyone!Here’s a picture of our cat Moo Moo in her hospital set up currently. ❤️
