Clean store. Good selection of items. I’ve been shopping here for 10 years and so much has changed. They have some of everything for your home. I visited today to get some Anchor Hocking food storage containers and a wood cutting board and as usual, Big Lots did not disappoint. The cashier was extremely friendly which wasn’t always the case pre-pandemic. I think this is one of the best Big Lots stores in the Midwest. 9/10 recommend.

Sherry at the Michigan City store is very rude to female customers. I've seen her treat men customers fine and soon as a woman is in line she starts having a nasty attitude. If she's trying to pick up a husband go somewhere else .Her name is Shelby or Sherry stop being rude, women are customers too.

Wish there was a closer one. We drove 23 miles to go to this store. It's clean. It's well organized, and it sells a wide variety of merchandise. We'll probably make the trek to visit this store a few more times.

Haven't been in a big lots in about 2 years and was expecting cheap finds. Nope not the case..these were all new items over priced. I did buy $50 worth of items but didn't plan on spending that much. Big Lots in CA was way cheaper and had cheap, different items that other stores didn't sell. Not the case here. Too expensive, wont be back.

One of the nicer and more organized Big Lots I've been in. The staff was super friendly and everything was well organized and fronted and faced. One of the better Big Lots I've been to honestly.

Tyler and the manager Helen were amazing. I drove from South Holland Illinois to buy a sofa and love seat. Customer service was above excellent. Store was immaculate neat orderly and welcoming. Other stores can take a lesson on how it should look from this Big Lots. Please give the manager and Tyler an accommodation for the great work.

The stock is complete garbage when it comes to outdoor furniture and you can't order it or even by the store model it is ridiculous. You lost $1500 . Checked all stores within a 90 minute drive. Will even let you purchase online hold your money for multiple days then tell you it is out of stock when you try to pick it up.

Don't do any online orders with rewards. The inventory stock is totally sporadic and innacurate due to covid. If you use your big bucks online and the store doesn't have stock they will cancel your items and you will loose your rewards. The manager wanted to argue with me for 10 minutes about $1.99. I have many items cancelled over many orders in the last month. Out about $20....in total.

What’s not to love. Toys, candy, shampoo. Name brand off brand. Furniture. They have everything and since it’s always changing there’s always a surprise. Can not beat the prices.

Purchased 2 couches from here and bought the extended warranty for them. Couch seem ripped and they won't help me and just told me go through the warranty company for a warranty they sold. Needless to say the warranty company with a review rating of 1.7 tells me yah its not covered. DON'T BUY THIER WARRANTIES!

Went to Big lots tonight and the way we were ingored and treated that manager should be ashamed of herself! I had few last minute gifts I needed to pick up and was planning on using the credit through the furniture department it's 90 days same as cash well let me tell you Nobody knows how it works! One you have to buy $150 worth of furniture and also $50 down payment! 😤 I wasn't told any of this when I signed up and asked for details and this is Christmas time people can you try to go to work with little bit of a better attitude I'm just trying to get my kids something here 🙏🙏

Unaware that the virus affected the furniture industry too, I sold my "new, but did not fit in the new house couch and chair & half on Facebook. Went in search for a power recliner for myself. Wow! I got a big surprise.Purchasing furniture prior from Big Lots, they were one of my first stops. I saw the new Broyhill set another customer was looking at tried the loveseat. It was very nice reasonably-priced. I asked the very nice lady in the Merriville store furniture dept. to check with the two other stores close to me and Michigan City store had one.Everything else I had seen was three times the price & up and.... 2 to 9 months+ out, nothing in stock. My husband and went to Michigan City store that evening. As I tried it out the recliner the lady in that dept helped us and again was very nice and very helpful. I decided to go for the Broyhill. The power was good, comfortable, the only one in stock. I've now had it for a couple of weeks. And it's Great! So far good.I apologize for not remembering your names a couple of weeks later. You were both commendable.

6 months ago I was able to find all my Easter goodies...table cloth, basket candies, specialty good items, outdoor decorations and a whole lot more! The store has been closed for remodeling all summer long and sorely missed. Please reopen soon, many others share my same sentiments!

Love the furniture section. The food section has cool variety of foods you wouldn't normally see too. Fun store to visit. My only criticism is the stacks of boxes they leave in they way. I think it is stuff they plan to put on the shelf, but it makes it hard to get around them in the already narrow aisles.

Store was neat and in order. The young lady at check out was very helpful with my purchase. The sad note is I could not find a clerk anywhere to help me. Therefore I had to go to the check out lane for help.

I picked up a few things that I have been wanting to try. Plus some Easter items. You have to know prices that you pay in other stores to know what your getting a deal on. They do have a nice selection of furniture even patio furniture!

No carts available. Where did the carts go? Aisles cramped and certain areas dimly lit. The addition of refrigerated grocery items is...weird. Some prices are very good, others are a huge rip off much like the local dollar store. You've got to know your prices well, not every thing is a bargain!

They moved next store but, are still in the same location, just one store over. I like stopping in to see what deals and specials arrived. Many, many, years ago we bought some small apple trees in the spring that they were selling . Last fall the trees were full of apples and I made apple pies, apple sauce etc... I bought canning jars too from big lots and canned the apples. They had all the canning supplies I needed. Buying these trees was a great investment, which we will enjoy for many years. The location of the store is easy to get to, ( 20 & 421) and the staff is always very helpful and nice. They have a variety of items, so if you need something, they more than likely will have it. I always buy my batteries here for the smoke detectors and remote control for the tv. Batteries are a great deal and last long.

The windows and store itself are old and in major need of an overhaul. The isles are too narrow and only one person can be in there with a cart at a time. Dispite the ancient building, they keep it fairly clean and organized. Oh, and the workers are helpful and friendly.
