This place is absolutely fantastic!! I wish my sister didn't find this place, because I want a funnel cake almost everyday. My daughter likes the churros. I like the mini funnel cake with cinnamon and sugar, fresh strawberry, and ice cream. The picture shows the funnel cake with apples and ice cream, which is tasty too.

I only have it one star because the funnel cakes taste good. However the service here is horrible. The 2 employees that I have encountered never smile. They seem as though they hate their job. I spoke and the tall gentlemen didn’t even speak back. So we waited at the counter waiting to be serviced as the gentlemen was cleaning and spraying a ton of Fabuluso, still no acknowledgement. He eventually said I will be with y’all in a moment. Okay he continued to spray and clean. Then came around and took our order. Not sure why the morale is so low here, but it is very unwelcoming to say the least. I go to the one in Orland Park they are happy and smiling. The young lady that works here took our ordering and was on her phone the whole time. She put toppings on that we did not ask for. This location has to do better. It’s not a good look at all to be so unprofessional. I will continue to go to the one in Orland just for the good service. You have to treat your customers nice, they are the ones that keep you in business.

This was my 1st visit, I'm glad I read the whole menu to see there are speciality funnel cakes. I had the red velvet with cream cheese frosting and a scoop of ice cream! Perfect way to end the week!

Customer service everywhere is declining . I don’t understand why workers think it makes sense to cook food while using their phone , it’s unsanitary. No gloves , no hair nets ….nothing . I walked up worker still on the phone , I order the product still on the phone , she is making the product while phone is in other hand and as it’s cooking still the phone .

Finally made it to the funnel man location in Merrillville after being told that the food was delicious. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing. After waiting just a few minutes, a young man came into the shop from the store next door and took our order. No acknowledgment, hellos, thank you, or even a goodbye. I will not be coming back or referring. I did find out the owner passed, hopefully the attitude changes to keep his memory alive, and make him proud by continuing his legacy with good service.

LOVE the funnel cakes but the guy with the glasses obviously dislikes his job. He never smiles and just isn’t friendly. Maybe the Orland location is better.Thank you for your reply, however he was that way before he passed away.

This place makes the best funnel cakes around. The owner come up with a banana pudding funnel cake where he put in fresh bananas and it was amazing. My wife and I loved their funnel cakes so much that we had them cater our wedding on September 5 and still all our friends and family members are talking about how good these are. We had quite a few people that had never had a funnel cake try these and loved them so they had more. These are highly recommended and the owner’s are the nicest people ever, it is worth a drive to have these funnel cakes. Thanks again for everything.

So I have never had a funnel cake before and this may have been both a great and bad experience. Good because not only was the funnel cake PHENOMENAL the customer service was top notch! Everyone is so friendly and nice as well as patient. It's a bad experience because I'm gonna compare every funnel cake to this place. They also have a bunch of different flavors and toppings to put on your funnel cake. It just feels premium for such a great price!

There's a reason this place has 4.9 stars. The friendliest staff, the funnel cakes are all made to order - fried to perfection. We had the banana pudding funnel cake & a corn dog. They were both perfect!It's not the fair food you're used to, you don't get a greasy anything here. We'll be going back for sure!

When i came across this place in the mall i had to stop, the line was long. I figured it has to be fantastic in order for the people to wait; they didn’t disappoint. The funnel cake was so great, I hired them to an event for my team. My team also shared my same sentiment, they asked if we can do this every Friday..and have funnel cake. The service here is top notch! With a year like we have had and all of the festivals cancelled it’s so great to be able to grab a funnel cake with all of the toppings that tastes amazing! They have a variety of sizes for every desire, it’s the place to go for a treat.

Absolutely love this place! I’ve been looking everywhere for a place that has funnel cakes and elephant ears and I was sooo happy when I found the Funnel Cake Man! Totally worth the trip to the mall from Munster! Staff is friendly and everything is made fresh. You can add all kinds of toppings and ice cream- delicious! They have a pretty big menu so if you’re not looking for sweets, they have corn dogs, potatoes, fried PB&J- there’s something for everyone. We will definitely be back, this is my new favorite place

The customer service is just as good as the desserts. I loved the fact that when you walk in you are immediately acknowledged, and not just sitting there being ignored. The staff were very attentive and the desserts hit the spot (I mean every bite was good). please do yourself a favor when you're in South lake mall swing by their shop located across from H&M (close to the entrance). You will definitely be pleased!!!

My wife and I were walking through the mall and spotted this place. I told her I wanted to go there after she got done shopping. So 45 painful moments through White Barn/Bath Body Works later we were here. We were looking at the menu on the outside and an employee said “Come on in I will explain everything”. So we did. He certainly made us feel welcome and he detailed explained the whole process.We got the big funnel cake with apple cinnamon and ice cream. The whole process took less than 5 minutes. Before we knew it we were out in the car with it.The funnel cake was the best one we have ever had. It was gone within a few minutes and very well with the price paid.We will definitely be returning here soon!

From the moment we walked in, we were given a warm welcome and the ordering process and options were explained to us. The owner was very personable and you can tell he sincerely cares about your experience and the quality of his products. The funnel cake and churro we enjoyed were delicious! You don’t get funnel cake like this anywhere else and especially not with such high quality service! We will be back and will let our friends and family know to check you guys out!

I never ever write reviews, but this place is too fantastic. I never go to the mall so finding out this shop was there was the best discovery ever. Not only is the food extremely delicious but the customer service was just as incredible. I was a little slow with ordering as it was my first time there, and the man was very patient and helpful and appreciative of all customers. Makes the concept of funnel cakes soo much more fun and tasty with all of the different specialties and options.

Fantastic Food and Customer ServiceEveryone could take a cue from this place. I visited about a month ago and when I walked in although there was a short line and the staff was busy, I was greeted with a smile and told that I'd be helped shortly. The staff was courteous, professional, friendly and fast with service all at the same time. They were all more than willing to answer any questions that I had, prepared the food in a timely fashion and really made my first experience one of the best I have ever had. This is a great place with a variety of treats for children and adults, and I can't wait to go back!

I'm not a big on funnel cake, I can take it or leave it. However after trying the funnel cake from "The Funnel Cake Man" I think I'm hooked. The funnel cake was hot and fresh! Very light light fluffy! Absolutely delicious. This will definitely be a stop everytime I'm in Orland!

This man had an extraordinary idea, vision, and dream and for him it’s now a reality with his customers reaping the benefits. I do not go to the mall a lot since it’s a good drive for me. My brother is getting married soon, so we were looking at tux options right next door to this awesome eatery. To make a long story short the owner was kind enough to bless me with a funnel cake for free with an act of kindness he witnessed. This was a moment in darkness of our world where no race mattered and no politics in sight. Just a kind man recognizing something that had no motives and repaying it with an amazing gesture. I wish his business the utmost prosperity in a time where many things are uncertain. I can only hope the day I start my business that I will replicate the great customer service, compassion, and generosity he showed me. The funnel cakes are Amazing. Cooked to perfection. Thanks for a unique and amazing experience.

Our group tried an elephant ear, churros, and a funnel cake. It was all tasty and the selection of toppings was delightful. I will definitely be back! Oh! And we had a chocolate milkshake... Made with actual ice cream, so good!

This place makes the best funnel cakes, you can choose from different toppings. We had peaches and whipped cream on ours and it was delicious. I just hope this place was closer to my home I would buy funnel cakes everyday. They also have popcorn and a variety of snacks.

OMG...I love this place!!! It's the carnival taste that puts a smile on your face without even getting on a ride. Me and my son went here for the first time and the owner or manager was very kind. He gave us a little back story of how they got started and walked us through some of their new items while we waited for our treats. A very pleasant experience and this may be my new spot for treats this summer.

My daughter and I had a cinnamon apple funnel cake and it was delicious so then we had to try the deep fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich and it was amazing. We live in Illinois about an hour away and will definitely drive back again for more. The owner was super nice and was telling us all about why he started the business. It was great!!!!

Came to the south lake mall to shop a little bit and ran into The Funnel Cake Man Location, right across from H&M! The funnel cake was superb and the customer service was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was inviting! Definitely will be back! (Black Owned Business)

I was leaving the mall today, and on the way out stopped for a sample of elote at the Funnel Cake Man !! Soo good, I was very impressed. I have been to the store before for funnel cakes with ice cream. Both experiences were great. also found out they do parties!!! Will be back

I hired the Funnel Man Company to come and be a part if our Field Day @ Pathways Child Care. It was a fun day for our afterschoolers to give them a relief from all of the E-learning. It was a good day. The Funnel Cakes were a hit and I especially appreciated how they not only manned their station but they fit right in and helped out however they could to make sure the day was good all around. Very courteous staff. Made sure that all our needs were met. Will be using their services again for sure. Thank you Funnel Man Company for being a part of our special day.

Just had one of the BEST funnel cakes of my life! It was fresh, right from the fluffy Warm tender cake, 2 the fresh strawberries and ice cream topping! So many toppings all fresh!! I cannot wait 2 come back and bring my family and friends! If ur close you have 2 treat yourself!!! 10/10
