This place has had its ups and downs; there always seems to be stock waiting to be put on the shelves, the staff has changed several times, but it is still a decent store to go to especially when you don't want to travel far from home.They sell a decent variety of household items including school supplies, medicine, makeup, hair care items, pet products, clothes, and even have a refrigerated food section.The front of the store feels clustered with how the checkout lane funnels people in an odd way. It is hard to explain, I will have to try to remember to take a picture the next time I visit to add to this review. When it gets busy there can be a bit of a lengthy wait as there is only one self checkout station and one employee manned cashier station.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT WORK or SHOP HERE. It’s extremely unorganized.. You will be the only cashier which makes things extremely stressful and on top of that you can NOT void out things yourself you need a manager, so I would be walking around every 20 minutes to find one. They keep it disgusting in there, seriously there is no cleaning supplies to even clean if you wanted too. Customers are extremely rude on top of it. I highly recommend not purchasing food especially produce because of the cleanliness of the the store.. Just do yourself a favor and take the trip to Francesville.

i work there. it's a bit messy because we're understaffed and not given enough hours to distribute amongst our own employees, but it's my store. most employees are pretty friendly (though certain customers seem surprised when we get annoyed at them calling us stupid or tell us we don't know what we're doing when we tell them how to remedy a problem), and we all do our best under the circumstances. we greatly appreciate the patience of those putting up with (and complimenting us on!) the gradual progress of our store's improvement :)

I greatly appreciate having this store but it is gradually going down hill. From the minute you walk up to the store you see piles of unorganized stuff. Aisles are always cluttered with products to be put out on shelves and displays in the aisle to the point you can barely get a cart through. I think several of the employees spend more time outside smoking than in the store. At the cash register there is a bell and sign that says ring for cashier, no bills larger than $20 and no cash back. Pretty sure they run with 1 employee alot of the time. Some of the employees are rude and never smile. They definitely seem understaffed which is leading to alot of issues. If they are experiencing theft maybe they need to look at how the store is setup, number of employees, etc. I think it is mostly the corporation cutting cost leading to this. When I can spend 45 minutes shopping and not see 1 employee and then have to ring a bell for service that is NOT right!!

Don't ever try to get a job here. They make it hard to even apply. The manager will not answer your calls or texts and then try to tell you she terminated you because you had not ever tried to get ahold of her, when she knows for a fact you did. If you have any type of disability and need to give them a note stating you can work, take it by hand because they either don't get it or throw it away thinking it's junk mail. If I didn't have to put a star to write this review I wouldn't have.

This place always has clutter isles, merchandise on floor, trash outside by entrance, a bell to ring for a cashier to appear, signs all over register for no Bill's larger than 20 no cash back, dirt and dust on top of candy selection in front of registers. It's great to have this kind of store in a small town, but needs some attention in standards.

Shelves are never stocked. Dirty messy store. Why have a self checkout when it doesn't even work? Wait in line too long. They need 2 cashiers back

Isles are ALWAYS cluttered!! Some isles you can't even take a cart down. This is the messiest and dirtiest D.G. I have ever been to. There are always Boxes of supplies that need to be put out and are blocking the isle. This has been going on for the past 3 years. Such a shame. Very trashy store.

It is what it is. Small town general store, has a little bit of everything. Good for quick fixes. This particular one is a little unorganized compared to some and under staffed, but they usually still have what you are looking for or some item close to what you wanted.

Go to the one in Buffalo instead. Came here to get some earbuds for my kids - had to hsbr them - and the only ones that I could find, the box honestly had a solid 1/8 inch of dust on top.Other than that, I've never seen cluttered isles and always had a cashier ready.I've seen worse Dollar Generals than this, but this is the worst out of Buffalo, Monon Family Dollar, and Winamac Family Dollar. Better than Winamac's Dollar General, though.

Friendly and helpful I was greeted with the smiling face and a hello. Restroom available it's a store it's a restroom Basin was clean and so was the toilet just a little rough around the edges. I will return

Staff are super nice, yes theirs a bell but its honestly no big deal, if they aren't at the counter they are stocking stuff, for a small town this place has a little bit of everything you might need

You can't get a better selection of goods at these great prices, at a more convenient location, because Dollar General is almost everywhere. The friendly staff keep you wanting to stop at them all.

Stopped there today the isles was cluttered.there was no one at the register.I rang the bell and waited 2 min.Rang the bell again.waited couple more min.Rang bell 3rd time and was told I only needed to ring bell once and wait Was also told if everyone in Medaryville didnt have a felony they could hire more help

Employees at the dollar general are never at the register when your ready to check out. Your waiting on them for at least 8 min. To come to the register.

I have been going to this Dollar General for at least 2 years the last 6 months to a year the store has gone down they cannot keep their shelves full they cannot order like they're supposed to the team is extremely rude and corporate doesn't seem to do anything about it when you can go off on a 92 year old man something is wrong with your management team
