This is a really, REALLY nice grocery store! I'm impressed, and the young man the bagged our groceries is going places! Super professional, very polite and made sure every customer knew he cared about them. I love seeing this!

These stores have no competition and it shows. Narrow product selection in many categories but aisles of junk food, soda, and sweets. Prices are not that great. Layout is odd. People are nice, though.

Stracks is my second favorite place to shop in town. They are all very friendly except for one random lady in the deli. The food is always fresh and if you use the app, you can use a lot of coupons on there and save a decent amount of money.

Deli chicken was disappointment. Stopped at little after 6pm on Saturday and was hoping to get decent meal. Had only couple sides to choose. Chicken was dried out. Corn was worse than field corn in taste. Have gotten green beans for side in past and were terrible. This isn't first and only time its been this bad. Seems its more often than not anymore.

Was really surprised what a nice grocery store it is. I went there because their mild Italian sausage is good. My daughter always picks it up for me. But being such a nice day we drove out to Lowell. When you go into store you go through deli, with the most delicious looking chicken at eye level, then you go into the produce dept.. I ask a gentleman where the Italian sausage was, he took the time to take me to it. He was all over the store. The meat dept. was so clean and nicely laid out. Meat was displayed nicely. Meat department is well managed. When I went to checkout only one cashier and the line was growing. The same man who I now realized was the manager had 2 cashiers open lanes in a flash. He was all over that store. I also bought 2 thick pork chops. The meat department is much nicer than some other grocery stores. I made the thick pork chops on the grill Saturday. The side you don't see in the packaging was just as nice as the top. I just used salt, pepper and garlic and grilled medium. They were delicious.

This is my favorite store but the last 3 times I have bought watermelon prepackaged they have been bad. I always buy 2 at a time so I was out $30. I wish they would bring back the 3 for $12 fruit! Other than that I love it!

I was visiting family from out of town in the area and stopped in to purchase some items. First we were greeted with the strong scent of putrid fish upon entering the store. It was absolutely awful. Being from NY it was surprising to find that the cost of items here was almost double what we pay in upstate NY area. I was very shocked to be honest. You'd expect in NY we would be the ones paying more but we aren't. Their definition of a jumbo blueberry muffin was also laughable at best, as it was the size of a normal cupcake, not even a muffin. There was, however, quite a decent selection of items. But if you're looking for any sort of health food items this isn't going to be the place for you at all. Their section of frozen health items was dismal. However, they did have some healthy options overall, but you just have to know what you're looking for already since it's not organized in such a way as to highlight those items as much. All in all, it seemed like an even lower version of the NY Store Tops, or a wannabe Publix that just doesn't meet the mark.The staff was friendly enough, though.

I like Strack's. They have a very large selection of produce and other foods. Their sale prices are very good although their regular prices are a bit on the high side. It is understandable though, since they do run a very tight ship when it comes to keeping their store exceptionally clean and well stocked. The service is usually top notch

Stracks is a great place to shop. The only wish I had that they had canyon shop bakery gf bread. It's literally the only reason I go to target or costco.

Decent grocery store, on more than one occasion sealed meat has been rotten once it was opened at home. Health Dept should monitor the butcher meat handling practices.... I'd rather go to St John, or Walt's in Illinois. (example purchased Jan 30th today is the 31st, expires after Feb 2nd, already smells bad.)

This is such a great store to have in our town. The store is always faced nice and most of the employees go the extra mile. Of course there is always an exception. They have a nice variety of items. The people at the deli counter are so eager to please and serve lunch meats and cheeses exactly the way you want it. The produce is always fresh and looks great. Bakery products are always in full supply and well decorated.

As you enter, there is a cart attendant cleaning the handles of all the carts which is wonderful. Masks are being mandated as well which is great. The cashiers are always pleasant. I wish they had more lanes open though. On a crowded Sunday afternoon only 3 lanes were open making the lines go back into the aisles. This location always has a great selection of fresh produce. I wish they had a true bakery and butcher though for a better shopping experience. The prices are a bit high so I usually just grab my odds and ends from here to save money. The digital coupons help with saving money too!

Beware if you are a canning person, the vinegar they have stocked with the canning supplies is 4% acidity. You need 5% to can and preserve foods . Hopefully people pay attention.

Always has the products we need. Gets products upon special request. Clean store and very friendly staff. Meat department is fantastic. We bought cooked prepared prime rib individual meals for Easter and they were delicious, the prime rib tender and perfectly seasoned and done to perfection. The double baked potato was excellent, my guests were asking for more. Kudos on the wonderful food and Easter dinners cooked for us. Always great service and selection. Produce department is always stocked and the products are fresh. We bought flowers for Easter and they are the most beautiful flowers we’ve ever seen. Every staff member is very knowledge and helpful about the store services and products. Always smiling ready to help. They help you out to vehicle with the groceries and help you load. Always fresh, clean and courteous.

Strack & Van Til Foods located in Lowell, Indiana on Commercial Ave is a local food chain. The store hosts a casual atmosphere & inviting layout. I found the shelves well stocked with assortment of name brands throughout. The prices are comparable to similiar food chains. The deli serves an assortment of meats, I did try their (ready to eat) fried chicken. I found the chicken breasts moist, golden brown & substantial in size. An important aspect in stores which I always comment on is cleanliness of which I rate this store very well. The liquor section well stocked once again with an assortment of name brands beers & wine. The only drawback on the day I was in was the few registers open & most customers waiting in long lines. I cannot say this is the case most days or times as it was my 2nd visit. Overall Strack & Van Til seems quite comparable to Jewel Foods. I do recommend shopping at this food chain.

Everyone who I've interacted with here is friendly. The baggers are great; very rarely do I end up with squished bread. The folks working in the deli are helpful. There's a good variety of foods. And if you can't find something, you can leave a card for the management and they do their best to get those items. The prices seem to be a bit high for a few things unless the items are on sale. But they are constantly adjusting and have low price locks. Reception for cell and data service is horrible no matter the provider, so make your double checking calls while you're outside.They reorganized the store, so finding stuff is a little harder, but like the last time they did we'll all get used to it.

Clean store. Seemed cramped and not as open as other locations. Also, wish stracks would make all the locations keep the same store layout to avoid bouncing around when going to another location.

Strack's in Lowell is awesome! They were able to accommodate our special request. Jeff, the manager and Emily made the process very easy during this difficult time for us. They went above and beyond and I am so very grateful. Never have I had a grocery store willing to help a community member like this before. We thank them from the bottom of our heart for their caring and thoughtful help.
