This was my first time at Shell. The staff was extremely nice and knowledgeable. They had everything they needed to make a rapid and accurate diagnosis of my Izzy. They explained everything I needed to know about my dogs condition and made sure I understood the what, when, why and how of the medicine they were sending me home with. I'm so glad I have found this clinic they really do go above and beyond for their patients.

Have been taking my two dogs there for seven years and have loved the way they treat them. They care about them and love on them like they were there own. I get their hair cut there also. And Patty does a GREAT job.

Have used Dr Bickett for several of my cats, he, Heather , and the rest of his staff are great, ( sorry do not know all names ) he just did a dental , and extracted a couple teeth on one of my older cats, and they managed to fit him in schedule quickly, and did great job on him, and are affordable, honest, and professional.

Dr. Bickett has been fantastic up until I had my dogs spayed and neutered a month ago. One of my dogs came home with kennel cough, I waited a week before calling. Dr. Bickett then wanted me to wait an entire second week to “see if it got worse”. Three days later, my other dog started having symptoms. I called again and got antibiotics for both dogs. They both finished the antibiotics on a Friday, by Sunday my male dog was have classic UTI symptoms. Urgency to go and only dribbling a little bit of urine out, and then finally urinating completely after attempting to go for hours. This dog does not have accidents in the house ever, but he just couldn’t help it. Dr. Bickett wanted me again to “wait and see if it got worse”. A few days later I called and finally got an antibiotic. My female now has several knots under her spay incision that have shown up in the last week so we took her in this morning. Dr. Bickett walked into the exam room, said “it’s completely normal” before even looking at her, and couldn’t give an estimate of how long it would take to go away because “then we’d be back”. He proceeded to walk out of the exam room as my husband was still asking questions. Dr. Bickett spent all of 10 seconds in the exam room with my pet and sent us on our way. Dr. Bickett treats his staff, clients, and patients horribly. Thank goodness nothing life threatening to my pets has happened because we’d be “waiting another week to see if it gets worse”.

Dr. Bickett and his staff are all amazing people. My dogs love going there. They schedule appointments efficiently so you aren’t waiting forever when you get there, they also have mailed reminders, texting reminders as well. Great communication in my opinion and I have 7 dogs in my care so this helps me. Been going there since before Dr. Bickett took over, my small dogs love everyone especially him, and they usually aren’t into most people just our family/grandkids. I trust my dogs loving going there, it makes its so less stressful! Fair and transparent pricing which is more than most places these days! Parking is close to the door as well, so its pretty easy to enter, 1 level so theres no mystery where to go.

The atmosphere is wonderful. The moment you enter the women who work there are welcoming you and your pet. They loved on my dog and were very sweet with her. The doctor is very informative and makes sure that you know what he is doing. When I lost my other dog they sent me a sympathy card and just showed they care!! I have taken my dogs there for years and will continue to take them there until they close or I have no dogs. Amazing hometown vet!!

I think that they should call their customers when it is close to their pets needing to get their shots again. I now have to wait a whole month when I was told a month prior to just have all of my shots done at the same time. I am tempted to go somewhere else to get his shots.

Shell Animal Clinic is a very caring, pet loving, atmosphere!! Everyone here loves their job, your pet and it is 5 star experience!! We have zero complaints!! If you are looking for an animal clinic that truly loves and cares about your pet as if it is their own, then look no further!! Great job Shell!! ALL of you do a GREAT job!!

This clinic and the staff were all so compassionate and understanding when I called them to see if they could help me with my elderly dog after I had tried everyone local to me (Monticello). They took an already devastating situation and made it bearable. I will always recommend this clinic and the amazing staff...

I was already beyond thrilled when Dr. Bickett returned an emergency call on a Saturday, then even more thrilled when he offered to meet me if I needed additional help. But now that my kitten has been seen and received such wonderful care, I just cant can't be happier! GREAT staff, GREAT atmosphere and I just love them!

Dr. and staff all pleasant, kind, sympathetic and easy to talk to. They worked us in quickly when there was some snafu between PetDesk and the office so they weren't expecting us. All of my questions about my older cat were answered to my satisfaction. I will continue to use this office for my pets care.

This place is fantastic! The staff made me feel so much better about my poor kitten's prognosis. I was so lucky to become a new customer despite the pandemic. The dr and especially the staff made me feel heard and addressed all my big concerns in a professional but caring way. They used terms that I could understand, and handled my baby with love and care. Even staff that weren't directly involved in her health care were coming in my Shelby's exam room to give her pets and scratches and to just spread the love!!! I honestly am so glad to have found you! THANK YOU for being so darn good to Shelby! And thank you for restoring my faith in mankind!

Our experience has been very positive. Our kitty became ill suddenly and we were advised to wait to see how the day went but after we became more concerned, we called Shell back and they were willing to work us in so our kitty could be seen! At the appointment, the vet was very personable and informative. Staff is always great and helpful. Highly recommend Shell!

Recent service at clinic was above and beyond. My puppy had scheduled surgery and I was greeted at car upon arrival and they expressed care and compassion. My special requests were granted as well and they called with updates. I really like the new way they manage painful procedures for our loved pets as well. Highly recommend

Shell Animal Clinic has performed dental surgery on my Pomeranian and did an excellent job. Now my little boy Tut gets his grooming done there on a regular basis - every time he gets groomed they do a perfect job! Highly recommend :)

Been taking my pets there for over twenty years. The new vetanarian is a big step down from Dr. Shell. They still call it Shell animal clinic though. They are just a shell of what they use to be. Won't ever step foot back in that door.

So, my original review was 5 stars, and now... I'd give a 0 if I could. Not in regards to any of the techs though. They're wonderful. It's unfortunate that they have to work under Dr. Bickett. My girl went in for a spay on Tuesday, and she was great the first day. The following days she started leaking a bit, but nothing excessive. On Friday, her sutures started coming apart, and by Saturday morning she had 2 massively open areas. To the point where you could see inside of her. I called the vet immediately and was told, "I don't have time to sedate her and close her up today. Pick up antibiotics, and call on Monday."Her inside was literally visible! So, I decided to take her to Purdue. With her being open like that, she could have easily gone septic from infection and died by Monday. I'm not one who just blindly listens to drs simply because they're drs, and thankfully I didn't listen to this, "dr." The staff at Purdue was pretty appalled at us being told he didn't have time, and for good reason. I will be taking this further and reporting Dr. Bickett to the board, because this is 100% negligent and he was more than content leaving my dog to possibly die.

Our beagle had a weekend injury we were hoping could wait until Monday. He started to refuse water so we called in. We were able to discuss the issue with Dr. Bickett and he saw our dog that day. We will need to do surgery, but Dr. Bickett was able to medicate him right away to help ease the pain. It was so comforting to have an answer and game plan so quickly.

These people were amazing! They treated our beloved animal like their own. They got us in immediately when our baby was suffering diagnosed and got her back to herself in minimal time and reasonably priced.

Dr shell has fixed my animals the first timewhen most other vets did alot more stuff and cost morel and did poor jobs as thry still didn't know they were doing. So I feel like he's tge best no point in going anywhere else. His experience and compassion with the animals are aexcellent. I would highly reccomed him and have tge people I sent there are still going there today and happy.

I take my pets to Dr. Shell and staff. They are friendly and very helpful. When we had to have our Abby put to sleep. They were all very compassionate. I highly recommend this animal clinic.
