The staff is so friendly. We had adopted our first dog from them who we quickly found out was not a good fit with our family, when we talked to them they were so understanding and found that dog a better fitting home. We then found our Luke who is just perfect for us. The shelter is well run, clean and full of kind-hearted people. I would absolutely recommend finding your newest family member through them.

My roommate recently bought a dog from the Cass County Humane Society.Their paperwork wasn't consistent as to the breed of the dog.Also, my roommate bought the puppy a new leash and collar because the set that came with him had crusted feces on them.Also, he said that there was feces in his hair when he gave him a bath.There were other animal rescuers there at the same time and no one but staff was allowed in the back where the animals are kept.They also didn't seem to know much about the puppy other than he had been neutered and chipped.

Honestly appalled at how unprofessional this place is. Not only did one dog have an eye infection but another had ear mites. We paid the adoption fee for a dog that had been there for a year, bought the food, bowls, leash and collar, plus pet deposit fees to be told we couldn't adopt the dog. Said they didnt feel comfortable with it because my husband made some jokes. Surprise I worked animal rescue in Arizona for 10 years and my grandmother ran the thrift store for valley humane society for years before she passed away. I even had a great relationship with the director of animal control and adopted several times from them. For someone who says an animal is like their child should be adopting the dog they have had in there for a year who started rubbing their head against the kennel walls, which is a sign of distress.

1st off dogs don’t get ear mites cats dog dogs just get ear infections to whom said what they said 2 you have probably never took car of more than a hand full of dogs yourself so I think. Before going and popping off at the mouth because u had an bad experience there u need to know facts on what ur talking about to whom should know who I’m talking about bless ur heart

Staff was vary nice and friendly. The process to adopt was very simple and quick. Before i knew it we left the shelter with my sweet Sammy boy. A word of advice. Sammy came home with kennel cough. It's nothing a vet visit cant fix. But he was stick. So just take them for a quick small check up after adoption.

I think that they should be open alot earlier than 12 pm. What if an animal needs help? Cass County doesn't have an emergency Vet and if they did, it would cost an arm and a leg. I take my animals to Delphi, alot cheaper.

If I could give 0 stars I would, went in to adopt the dog and picked the dog that's been there for a year. Paid the fee and went in the next day to be told we couldn't adopt because of my dry sense of humor. He claimed the dog was like a child to him but the dog has been there for a year, rubbing his head against the kennel which is a sign of distress.

My dad went in to drop a stray dog off that showed up at our house, and was accused of the dog being his and told that they were going to build a case against him and look into neglect and abuse. We have two dogs at the house and the stray dog showed up, she doesn’t get along with our dogs and he tried to do the right thing and take the stray to the shelter unlike the person who abandoned her. (surprise my dad is covered in tattoos and was obviously stereotyped) the way they run their shelter is disgusting. We have two cats adopted from there and everything.

Fantastic, friendly staff who truly care about the well being of animals! Our family found a small male dog who had been abandoned & they were so gentle, loving & so welcoming to him when he was surrendered.

Very nice place and bery friendly staff. Clean. I adopted my first kitty from them today and they will have more ready for adoption on June 5th. I'm excited to return to adopt my second kitty for a playmate for my first one. My first one is Patty, a very sweet and precious little girl. I couldn't be happier.

The animals need to be advertised for adoption. Nobody knows what is available from this shelter as in found animals or any ready for adoption. It is ran very non professional.

after losing my friend of 15 years who was a chocolate lab we rescued a pit mix and will I was there I learned this is a no kill shelter ,the animals are feed good because I saw em being feed and it seemed clean I had a pleasant experience .

I wouldn't recommend this humane society to anyone, someone has no money and no place to lives tried to take their cats there and they want $35.00 per cat to take them. This f××king crazy.

Just learned they put down over 20 cats and aborted 2 litters of puppies some dogs also put down. I will never donate to them. On top of that they was given a half a million dollars to care for the animals and this is what happens.
