NOPE. My husband and I went into this pet store today just to look at the animals for fun. Never gonna return to this establishment. When we walked in the door we were greeted by an aggressive dog laying on the entryway rug. Black dog, laying on a black rug, right in front of the door. Looked like a border collie. My husband did not see it and tripped over him, upset the dog, and it got defensive. An older lady, and young girl just sat there with attitude looking at us. After a few seconds the older lady grabbed the dog away from us. My husband was apologetic for stepping on the dog, and really he shouldn’t have been, because it was their fault.We continued down the first aisle back to the fish, while my husband was apologizing, older lady yelled back, “it’s our fault for him laying in the doorway”YES MA’AM IT IS.Then she came up to us and explained to us, that she “wasn’t grabbing him away from us to protect him, but to protect us. When he was a puppy a customer picked him up by his ear, so he perceives everyone as a threat.”We looked at the rest of the animals, then left the store, and guess what- when we were approaching the door to leave, the dog was back in front of the door, on the rug, lookin at us all shady. You could tell when we had to walk by him again he was extremely uncomfortable with our presence. And I’m uncomfortable with his. I’ve been dog bit. It’s not fun. Having to walk an inch, almost having to step over a dog, that has already growled and barked at you, to get out of the store is BULL.What if someone is partially blind and steps in the door and hits him with their feet, and falls over him? What if a child runs in the door excitedly, and spooks him? Or someone just simply doesn’t see him like my husband? You already said he’s been traumatized, and sees people as a threat. I could see that first hand just by his behavior. STOP PUTTING PEOPLE AT RISK.Even if he doesn’t behave in that manner, who lets their dog lay directly in front of the door like that? I’ve never seen that before. I’ve seen stores where people allow their dogs, and cats to be in store, never have I seen one aggressive like that. Or laying right where you have to step in the door.Absolutely ridiculous, and WRONG. And the older lady knew she was wrong. That’s why she ran back after us, after her and the younger girl stood there looking at us, as if WE had done something wrong, for simply walking in the door.They showed how much they didn’t care though, when they let the dog lay right in the same spot, causing us to have to walk over him again.

I visit this place frequently and every time I go in every employee is keeping busy making the animals happy. They are pretty good about getting new animals in every so often. Staff members like George are always looking for ways to be helpful. 5 Stars!

I have been a customer here for about 6 years and I have to say the only reason I shop here is because of the manager. I was coming in about 3 times a week . When you shop that frequently at a small business you come to know the staff and other customers! The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable. The Manager is the heart of the business and the staff she hired are the heartbeats.

Stopped in today for a new filter and fish. Amanda was very sweet and answered all my questions. She is obviously dedicated to taking great care of the animals there. Keep up the great work Amanda! great staff, very willing to help and knowledgeable. good prices and great selection 👌 to the customers, if an animal is wearing a sign that says "DO NOT TOUCH" there is a reason and you're not an exception so keep your hands to yourself

Every time I come in the store is very clean and organized. I’m always greeted by the staff. The one person that stands out is Amanda. She’s always there with a smile and a positive attitude. She could make anybody having a bad day totally switch to having an awesome day! I will definitely keep coming to this pet store!

Been a customer since they opened and I LOVE this place! The manager Amanda is super awesome and goes out of her way to help the customers and is very knowledgeable about anything pet related. She even hand made jewelry and such to help pay for medical bills for an animal in need. None of the profits for these items went to the store and 100% went to the animal’s medical bills. I think that’s pretty awesome! The items are really unique and beautiful! My family had gone there for fish in the past and if anything happened to them after buying, let let my family get another one for free, which turned out to be just fine! I do feel that some of the new hires are very young and do not know respect towards customers. I do not feel like anyone should believe gossip without getting the original story. This is a GREAT place and I highly recommend them for anyone! Will be continuing to go there for a long time!

Have been shopping at this pet shop for 8 years! Never had a problem with ANY of the pet's I have gotten! Have had my Quaker parrot for 7 yrs! He is doing great!!!!!!! Amanda is very kind and caring! TY!

We have bought a few pets from there, most recently parakeets. This store sells sick pets. All of their pets die prematurely. We did our research and were caring for the birds appropriately. The birds were sold to us sick, just like prior animals. This store is severely overpriced and sells sick pets. My kids heart is broken. Thanks for nothing. Never again.

Absolutely love Planet Pet as well as the manager. They are always helpful, extremely knowledgeable and I always end up walking out with a new pet and lots of goodies for my current pets. Store is very clean, a stocked with lots of products that a lot of other places don't carry. Manager has also offered to order in items if my animals preferred a certain type of snack/food/etc. Support small businesses especially this one, you won't be disappointed.

Amazing store! Animals are well cared for, healthy and happy. I have purchased two baby Ball Pythons here, and both were beautiful, healthy and extremely friendly! I visit this store weekly for feeder mice, and will be a lifelong customer. I feel very fortunate to have such an awesome store so close to home. Staff are wonderful, family-like atmosphere, extremely helpful and knowledgeable. These folks have turned me into a Ball Python mom for life! Definitely pay these folks a visit - I promise, you will not regret it! Thank you Planet Pet, you guys are the best!!! 💛🐍💛

Clean store, helpful employees. I haven’t met the manager everyone raves about but I’d love to! Only feedback I have is that the employees cluster at the front desk on their phones. With that said, if that’s the worst complaint I have, I’m A ok with this store. The girls were still helpful in answering questions. One employee even used one of my questions as a teachable moment for the other employee. It was nice to see that interaction . Overall, I’ll keep going back and hope to meet the manager!

Love it!! Very nice people. Employees keep it clean and animals cages are kept nice and tidey. I get a lot of my pet supplies from here. Things are a little pricey, but they have a lot of nice stuff. The only thing I didn't like was I bought some rats from there and they were very sick. They also need some new brands of small animal food.

Walked in with a friend to just look around, staff was standoffish. Employee followed both of us and asked for our first and last names? I asked why and was told it was for a “legal matter.” Very uncomfortable. Not as uncomfortable as the animals look though. Terribly taken care of.

The manager, Amanda, is very personable and is naturally a welcoming person. She always makes me feel at home whenever I come in. She is very knowledgeable and almost always has a solution when it comes to animals. I have learned so much from her for my animals and even just listening to her talk to other customers about their pets. It is always a treat to come in and talk with all of the staff there. A truly great place with great people.

I've been an animal lover all my life and are very dedicated to fish keeping for a few years now. This petshop was the first place I visited when I first moved to the tri-state area and the manager and owner have become my friends since then. I buy most of my fish and supplies here because I love using small business and contribute to the local economy. The prices are very reasonable and competitive and I always get treated as a friend. I visit the store at least once a week and if I ever have a question about anything I know I can feel comfortable with asking them. This is the only local petshop in the area that offers a guarantee of their fish.

Staff was fantastic! I needed help planning a set up for a bearded dragon we planned on getting. The 2 working yesterday knew their stuff. We had rapid fire questions which they answered just as quickly. Very recommended. Great selection of animals

I went here today to get a couple of fish. The only greeting I got was from the white cat, very sweet. I was not greeted, I was not helped. I was in there for 10 minutes. I walked towards the front. One girl was helping a customer. The other girl was leaned up against the counter on her phone. I give the white cat 5 stars.

Great selection of fish. You can get all kinds of different fish at a good price. I just got 3 angel fish for $28. The employees are very helpful however they don't have knowledge required on certain animals they are preserving. But they do an excellent work none the less.

Every time I go in there the woman with dark hair is grumpy, and acts like me and my family being there is an issue to her. I looked on these reviews to see if anyone else thought that as well, and I read many.. and also read one from my husband who made one, and they replied they had no record of him being there.. they never asked his name to buy guinea pig FOOD. so I don’t know why they would have his name or record? Nothing she does or says makes any sense but you should feel comfortable walking into a store, and not like you are a burden 😌 also. She argues with people on these reviews which is beyond tacky. She’s old enough to act right clearly, but chooses not to so ok. I’ll go somewhere else further away and not feel uncomfortable.

We went in today with our daughter to see a few animals and check prices on getting everything we need for a new pet. Unfortunately, I think the lady working was just having a bad day as she was just aggressive during our interactions and we decided to spend our money elsewhere. I’m a Recent employee!!! absolutely love the management!! Such a cute store, the manager is so sweet, she has given me rides home from work, always was flexible with my schedule, never overworked me, always gave us a break, and she even bought ALL of her employees lunch a couple times ! I highly recommend for 15-18 year olds!! Great first job 💗

Always high quality products for reasonable prices (if not economical prices). However, one gets what one pays for & this store sells high quality products that they stand behind! I've never encountered a problem with products or food items purchased at Planet Pet! They frequently have trial sized products to explore your furry family's favorites! A great way to sample multiple items or flavors. However, this time we were out if luck on samples. If you want great quality & reasonable prices with a hometown welcome & warranty - stop by. We often stop in to just check-in on four-legged family members that great you upon entry! You must be on guard though as many adorable pets reside inside with opportunities to adopt from local shelters! You may go home more enriched than you planned!

The owner of this establishment will probably say this is a fake post of some kind, but the fact of the matter is that this establishment treats its staff just as poorly as it manages its workers, never mind the blatant and obscene behavior the manager in question exhibits toward their employees. Needless to say, you’ll find more than enough former employees who could tell you they have experienced wrongful dismissal as a result of a power crazed boss. A lack of speedy service, coupled with employees who show little to no enthusiasm in their line of work, and a poorly maintained shop leaves much left to be desired. If you look at the “five star reviews”, you’d find that most of them are short sentences made by employees using puppet accounts in an attempt to bolster this poor excuse for a pet store’s reputation. Just look at the low starred reviews and you’ll find that most, if not all acknowledge a poorly maintained store along with a return policy that intentionally makes the purchase of their neglected pets FINAL. In other words, don’t expect a refund should you find a pet that you purchase dies a few days later. In short, I would highly recommend a more popular, and frankly more inviting and reliable establishment like a petco or pet smart if you’re looking for a furry friend with whom you plan to spend more than two days with in your home sweet home.j

I love going to this pet store. I mean you can’t find many now a days. The people that work there are FRIENDLY and very NICE! I bought a lizard from there and he’s in healthy shape. The brown hair lady that is always there I’m sorry I’m bad wit names lol I assume she’s the owner/manager she’s always wonderful to me and is always sparking up a conversation. Great place for people to shop.
