Never been here, but called in a little panic over my kitty and his concerning bowel movements. The person who answered was very comforting and reassuring until my vet opened the next day. ✨️ my best friend takes her dogs here and she loves it.

Dr Forde and her staff took great care of my new labradoodle. Every time I bring him in he loves his visit because and his tail is wagging. Dr Forde is very knowledgeable about vet care and I feel comfortable having her treat my pet. If you are looking for a new vet, look no further!

I went to get my dogs medicine and Gabriella B would not listen to what I was saying when picking up my dogs medicine she was too busy talking to the other girls in the office. I continue to tell her it was my daughters bill and she brought my dog in and I paid that fee and She still continues say I owe the bill on my dog and in reality it was my daughter’s dog. They only looked at him for a second and prescribe him medication. I was told by groomer not to bring my dog there but gave the benefit of doubt.

Ever since Dr. Phlum retired we have tried to be patient. I figured it would take a while to get a decent vet in there again, but there have been a parade of new vets every time we go in there for the last five years or more. This visit was the worst ever, we spent five hundred dollars and they told us that they had to run yet another urine test. We suspected she had a urinary tract infection. She was running a fever, having accidents and vomiting occasionally. They apparently didn’t even test her for that because they had to do it a second time. They told us that would be a 90 more dollar charge. When we got there we asked for more of the anti vomiting medication and they said we needed another doctor’s appointment. I refused to pay for another doctor’s visit. Then, they tried to charge 137 dollars for the urine test that they said would be 90. I am done with this place. They cost way too much, and the service is terrible. The vet should have known to test for a UTI the first time, they tried to make us come back later for the doctors visit, despite the fact that they we had to give our dog antianxity meds before she came because she peed on the floor the first time and they couldn’t get any urine. Coming back later would have let the anxiety meds wear off and she would have peed everywhere again and they wouldn’t have been able to get any urine a second time. The tech that came to get the dog for her test was completely useless. She could see that the dog was hiding under the table and chairs and was unconcerned and told us to put a muzzle on her which was completely unnecessary. Then the tech tried to schedule us to come back, instead of taking the dog for her urine test which was the whole reason that we were there. We should not have had to pay the doctor a second time. That is just ridiculous. We will be looking for another vet from now on.Oh, and as an added bonus, when we walked in I heard the receptionist on the phone telling someone that they always get everyone else’s clients because they are so easy to get into! When Doctor Phlum was there the place was full of people waiting. Now the waiting room is generally empty. Go figure. We knew that their charges were high when Dr. Phlum was there but we paid it because our dogs got good care. Now we are expected to pay exorbitant rates for poor quality of care! We won’t be back.

I can't recommend Dr. Kotani highly enough. I have a very happy, playful pug at home who probably wouldn't have made it without her. Yes, vet visits are expensive, but my boy is alive today, and that, to me, is priceless.

Really expensive. Also I use chewy for my dogs flea/heartworm because I do food, treats, whatever, all together, and they would take 10-14 days to approve the prescription, so we’d be halfway to his next dose. I had to call the office multiple times to ask them to approve it because it was taking so long. However, they wasted no time calling me trying to get me to do their autoship service even tho I turned them down multiple times and asked them to please stop offering it to me. Obviously switched to another vet.

Stay away unless you are a millionaire! VCA is an association that is out for the money. It is the most expensive vet I have e er been to. Then i did some research on VCA and I was not happy. Money grubbing company

So far I am very pleased! We took our new pup, Auggie, in for his very first doctor visit. It sounds like he charmed the heck out of the staff LOLI loved how efficiently they handled the curbside service, and even though the doc and I only spoke by phone, I felt very reassured by their skill and competency!I am somewhat obsessive about researching things I don't know, and I look for credible sources of information, from nationally accredited organizations and schools. So hearing the doctor saying things that echoed what I'd read, and totally willing to address any questions or confusion I had, really impressed the heck out of me.I didn't feel the least bit rushed, and I felt like every person I dealt with wanted nothing but the best for my furry four-footed lovebug!Auggie came home a little sleepy from all the activity and his shots, napped a bit, and was back to his usual exuberant self in a few hours. We heaped love and attention on him before and after his visit, and I have high hopes this will help him feel comfortable with future visits! We signed up for the care club, which I think is worth every penny if you can swing it. And we were emailed an offer for emergency insurance that I decided to opt-in for as well. I didn't feel pressured, which helped me make my decision. And with a beagle puppy, who is really just a giant nose with a stomach, I feel much better knowing that if there IS an emergency, paying for it won't have to be part of our decision making process.I'm about to call later this morning to make an appointment for our rescue kitty, next. She's going to need a bit more concentrated vetting, due to her history, but I am confident these folks are well up to the task!10/10 would definitely go again! LOL

Took my German Shepherd in VCA for ear issues, took them like 10 different visits and a bunch of medicine for them to never figure it out. Thousands of dollar for nothing when we finally figured out we needed a $4 douche to clean his ears ourself. They are thieves and do not care about your animal, thousands of dollars in their pocket without figuring out the most simple thing for our dog. We played their game for a year…DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

I wish I could put zero stars but wasn't able to, so that's the only reason it's even getting a star rating . We've always taken our dogs Kolby & Ace to VCA, we've never had an issue or complaint against the place the staff and Dr's have always been kind and courteous, and shown our pets much compassion theres been multiple times that the Dr themselves have called to check on our pets after a visit. But today was unlike any of our prior visits. My husband took my sons cat to be seen for a canine tooth that is partially dislodged ,so much so he cant close his mouth all the way. Maybe the tooth is abcessed along with an infection going on due to this dislodged tooth his face is swollen as well. My husband and I were unable to pay for the visit or the possible extraction at this time. Our son wanted to use a portion( for We were charged $85 for the visit. And given an itemized estimate of $1,635.19 in which they wanted a 100% upfront, my husband and Thomas were sent on their way. . No compassion shown what so ever! The message my son took away from all of this in all of this is that he spent $85 out-of his savings for his cat to be only looked at with nothing done to help him without almost $1700 upfront. What happened to being compassionate and having the best interest of the animal/patient?? Where is the compassion in sending Thomas home with nothing to help himWhew my husband came home with nothing I had him call them back and ask if they couldn't prescribe him an antibiotic or pain medicine or both anything would be better than doing nothing at all. When my husband called the 1st time he was told that Dr Ruth Forde would return his call which she never did so I had him call back again right before they closed in hopes we would still be able to get something called in for him but this time he was told that they did have medicine there but they didn't know the cost of what it would be and that we could call back tomorrow at 7 am when they open. UNBELIEVABLE needless to say we won't be going back .I was just like to add why is it in every review given that is not a good review that we are encouraged to contact ( email then) them? Why would we make the effort to reach out to a place where we felt such an unpleasant and unacceptable experience? I feel if an establishment truly values the wants and needs of their customers and puts that as a priority than they would be the ones reaching out not vice versa and that not being the case only speaks more volume.

I would not recommend this hospital at all! If you want a hospital that truly gives your furbabies the love and attention they deserve, steer clear from this hospital. My dog Draco (Doberman) and our brother in law who has his sibling Kilo (Doberman) have been going there as puppies and started off good until the staff showed their true colors. When my husband calls and his brother calls, most of the time they get a receptionist that didn’t seem like they wanted to help, did not give clear answers and came off as rude. That receptionist should not work in that position with that kind of demeanor. When I came as a technician visit with Draco and asked for a neuter estimate, the tech told me it would be sent later that day. I did not receive an estimate until a few days after. Kilo came in a few days ago for a skin issue and did all these diagnostics without explaining what each one was looking for or the pricing. His skin was very bad and all they sent home was a medicated shampoo. My BIL spent around $533 for diagnostics that were not even explained to him nor did they go over the prices for each. He also asked if he would still be okay to get neutered although he had this skin issue and they told him yes. When the day of his procedure came, they told us they could not do his neuter because of his skin even though they told us previously that it was okay. At that point is when they decided to dispense antibiotics and steroids when they should have done that at his previous visit. We found out that they have received the results from the diagnostics that we paid so much for and we still have not received a call. The receptionist told us that the doctor needs to call us for the results. We have yet to receive the call which shows their lack of urgency as Kilo’s skin is not improving. We are very upset by the lack of attention and care that they have shown our babies and we refuse to keep taking them to a hospital that does not have their best interest in mind nor care for their clients. We are no longer taking them to this hospital.

Friendly folks but it is VERY expensive here. A simple dog ear infection recheck cost $100.If money is no object, this is a good place to go.

My fiancée and I were charged an exorbitant amount of money by this place only for them to tell us that our cat was stressed and proceed to give us the wrong food to treat her. Sadly, this is not the first time that our cat was delayed treatment due to the negligence of some of the staff at VCA Lafayette. If you want your pet to receive proper and timely care that won’t cost a small fortune, DO NOT bring them here.

This place was awesome! I will for sure be returning for all future vet needs! My baby hasn’t been feeling well and they were so warm and welcoming to him! They treated him with the best care. I watched as they took him in and could see them comforting him! Made me feel at ease. The doctor also helped me find the cheapest options in my budget and helped me to be able to afford what was best for my dog!! Totally recommend this place. Also i have called so many times with questions and they never make me feel like a bother. I apologized for calling so many times with so many questions and she laughed and said that’s what we are here for we are open till 8 feel free to call again! So sweet thank you all!

I adopted my very first rescue pup about a month ago. I am extremely happy with my experience and having my pup get checked by Dr. D’ Angelo and the staff. My pup had an emergency and the staff and doctors did not hesitate to take care of my little pup right away and answer my questions and concerns with no hesitation. Thankfully, everything got resolved and he is doing extremely good! I am so glad I chose VCA. I can trust them 100% with My pup Kimba and his health! Thank you so much!! I’m more than grateful.

I love this VCA location! The front desk and vet tech staff are lovely and kind. We see Dr. Chandler and she's always been extremely gentle with our pets and thoroughly walked us through her recommendations. Their care plans are particularly great for older pets!

Very good experience! I would highly recommend this practice (even over Purdue community practice). All staff members are very polite and seem to love their jobs. It was very clean in the waiting area and exam rooms. Dr. Miller was very friendly and patient with my dog who takes time to warm up to people. She was also more than happy to answer all of my questions and explain what her thoughts were regarding tests, treatments, etc. I will absolutely continue using this practice as long as we're in the area!

I was told I needed to come in and do a fecal test to make sure very thing was ok after some side effects from a medication my puppy had taken.I get there and the vet says “we don’t do fecal tests this soon after taking this medication, so we won’t be doing that today.”Seemed a little bit like they may have just wanted to make money off the situation by recommending I come in for an appointment.I had also previously called in and asked whether or not this medication she had been taking could cause loss of appetite. I was put in the phone with a tech and they informed me that, that was not a side effect. But then at the vet visit the vet said “loss of appetite can be common with this med as it’s an antibiotic and can upset the stomach.”Overall haven’t been super happy with the care that I’ve received there. They appear a little stuck up and not very friendly.

The staff here have been amazing. They really work with me and my dog, who doesn't particularly like being at the vet. She is hard to handle, but they don't treat me or my dog badly because of this. They realize it's just a personality quirk she has and roll with it. I love the way they know what's going on every time I call, even if it's been awhile. I highly recommend this facility.

I had to bring my cat into VCA when he began to have trouble breathing and Dr. Miller was quick to assess him and educate me on what was going on and my options. I ended up having to put my baby down very suddenly that day, but the doctor was very kind, yet up front with me about the process and allowed me to hold him the whole time and have time alone with him.I only dock stars off my review for the fact hat I felt blackmailed after I had left. I am very aware that the hospital has to make money and I have no problem paying them for their services, but the first receptionist who left me a message and who I spoke to phrased her spiel to sound like I had to pay my $600 bill in full before they would even send my baby boy to the crematory, so the day after his death I was stuck with the image of my precious Clark lying in the hospital freezer until I "paid up". I called back the following day to make our payment in full to find out that Clark had already been sent for cremation and was returned. Phrasing is so very important when dealing with such a sensitive situation and I'd just wished that the topic of payment had been breached in a better way. I do not know who the VCA Animal Hospital has serviced in the past who refused to pay them for their services, but I must urge all staff to remember that not all people are like that.... and making it sound like you'll hold my baby boy's body as a ransom for my money is not the way to go about it.In addition to Dr. Miller, however, the other receptionist/nurse I spoke with did a FANTASTIC job. I forget her name, but she is the perky-voiced blonde one for lack of a better description. Thank you so much for your kind words and recognition of the the weight of the situation for me. I hope you continue to be a little beacon of comfort and light to other customers <3

As many of the reviews have stated, most of the staff was quite snooty and their business model appears to be to provide as little information as possible to swindle you out of as much money as possible. Very shady practices and if a MD practiced in such a way they would be in majorly hot water for consent issues and bedside manner!

Dr. Ford is awesome! I have never had such a good vet in my entire life! My dog not only looks forward to going to the vet but Dr. Ford explains everything that she did and always tells you her honest opinion and doesn’t try to milk you for every penny. I literally won’t take my dog anywhere else as long as I live here.

They are amazing with my girl! She hates the feeling of the surface.of the tables, but they make sure she is comfortable and feels safe. Dr. Ford is wonderful, so gentle and gives the animals lots of praise during the visit.

Such a wonderful facility. I called them for an emergency visit late in the evening and they were waiting at the door for me. Unfortunately, this visit resulted in me putting down my 13 year old Yorkie. All of the staff was very sympathetic and Dr. Pennington was very helpful and caring. She went through all test options but was very gentle in explaining her thoughts on his outcome. All of the staff that was present that night sent us a sympathy card in the mail with hand written notes to us. We chose to have our dog cremated and his ashes were returned to us within a week in a very nice memorial box with his paw print. I cant thank the staff enough! Highly recommended!

I took my dog there last year when he got attact. They took very good care of him THANK YOU Dr Drakes! And I had to take my cat there this past week. And I had Dr Drakes this time also. She's a wonderful Dr and person. Shes very caring. Yes VCA is pricey but well worth it if you need to have your fur baby taking care of. I would take all my babies there only because i know how well they would be in good hands.

The care, patience, and attention my family's pet has received at the VCA has been remarkable. The vets and assistants have taken time to get to know our dog before the examination began. For example, our puppy is a bit nervous, so the staff sat with her on the floor, calmly approached her, and helped to make sure her visits are positive experiences. When I had dogs years earlier, other vets in other towns put my dogs on the counter, gave the shots, pulled at their ears and muzzles, and sent us on our way. As a result, my dogs were always terrified to go the vet, which was a huge inconvenience. That experience has not been the case with the VCA at all.In addition, we have seen no long waits in the waiting room, and no difficulty with setting appointments. Best of all, they are happy to share their expert opinions, and have answered a great many questions about vaccinations and other curiosities. Lastly, they are updating and improving their interior. Impressive place.
