I had my first visit today with my cat Maddie to see if this was the clinic I wished to establish her check ups at, as we have been in Lafayette since July 2023. I had heard from a coworker that Pets and Vets was an excellent choice. Well I can certainly say that my first appointment was just that! It wasn’t just my take that mattered, but mostly how Maddie reacted to the clinic. The staff and vets here were very gentle and kind with her, understanding that she was shy and unsure of the situation. They were quick to learn of her health and gave me fantastic information and advice on how to proceed with my care! Yes there was a decent expense at the end of everything, but they’re very diligent on telling you what the expected payment will be well before you agree to testing. You have certainly earned a patient in both Maddie and I! Thank you for taking such great care of her!!

We've been going here for about 4 years straight. I want to say, the doctor was always there since the beginning, she helped us tremendously, the only place we would go to in West Lafayette. The one thing that bottles my mind is that they do the check ups routine check up physically in the office which is great, and if needed feces and blood, but never asked us about doing any X-ray or ultrasound or blood work our last check up which worried me at 4 yrs old, just because your pet is younger doesn't mean you dismiss doing deeper work, I felt rushed and felt the lack of care vibing off this place, they used to be great, their needs to be more smiles and happier greetings at the front desk. (((Long story short, we took our family pet to another vet that did x-rays, blood work, and ultrasound and found life threatening issues))) that could have been prevented if they just asked me to do X-rays, another blood work and ultrasound, just in case for a deeper examination, treat us with more care and a deeper investigation and found more than this location could have told us the last visit recently. For future business ladies and gents, please ask to do an X-ray scan and blood work, don't let someone only assume your family pet is just having bad stools or throwing up and sending you home with out any of those deeper lab work needed, you'd be surprised what you can't see physically. At this point history documents do not lie, unless it doesn't make sense how something life threatening persisted so fast two months after our last visit with he is healthy as a horse! Do better! Respect goes both ways for any profession, that's something that any business should always have for their clientele. Also, please have pet insurance, they can be very pricey. No need to reach out, the communications and honesty with this experience needed to be told. Other than that, best of wishes to you all.

Pets and Vets has taken care of my dog since he was about 6 months old. He is 2 now. Last week they were able to get him in last minute for an ear infection because i was about to leave for a week long vacation. He gets them a lot because he suffers from pretty severe allergies and I don’t think he would be where he is at today health wise if it wasn’t for the amazing team here. I am so grateful for the services they provide & the great advice they give. They save me a lot of stress. On top of that they are so friendly and seem to love my dog just as much as he loves them! Do not hesitate to bring your animals here, they will be well taken care of.

We have had a relationship with Pets and Vets for close to 30 years. As a multiple cat and dog owner for all those years, we have had many opportunities to interact with the vets and staff. They are kind, and caring, especially when we lose a pet. We have referred many of our friends there. They give lots of options for care, and don’t pressure us if we want to wait on certain procedures to see if the problem resolves. When it doesn’t, they provide the care, or any referrals to other specialists needed.

I just moved away from Indiana but I wanted to leave a review for Pets and Vets, where I took my cats and my dog from 2014–summer 2021. It's hard to express what a comfort it was to have them taking care of my pets, from their regular check ups, to their prescriptions, to my dog's serious surgeries, and even when I had to say goodbye to one of my cats. They took such good care of my bbs (AND me, really) for seven years.Dr. Bowers, who was the vet I saw the majority of the time, is compassionate, understanding, and honest. She will tell you the truth, whether it's hard or not, and she'll always help you make the best decision for you and your pet; she always calls to follow up on tests and treatments, and takes real time to talk you through everything (even during the chaos of COVID, there was no lapse in availability or care). She is absolutely the best vet I've ever had, and I'm really sad that I have to find someone new after moving away. I also occasionally saw Dr. Strode and Dr. Ehlers, and they were wonderful, too. All the nurses are amazing—they're very knowledgeable, they take great notes and are attentive to your concerns and your pets, and they do everything they can to make their patients comfortable during exams.The front staff is so, so helpful and kind, and they take the time to know your pets and to know you.Thank you all for *everything*—Evie, Rhett, and I will miss you so much!

I had an appointment this morning for my dog to get his DAPP vaccine. When arriving there was an extremely aggressive and uncontrolled German Shepard on site preventing us from getting out. They walked away far enough that I got out to head inside, when stepping outside the dog lunged and was barking and trying to get to me and my dog. We got inside and the front desk lady was clearly scared and said that dog cannot be around others and "hopefully they stall." I was scared and just went to the open exam room and closed the door, MYSELF. Inside I hear the dog barking everyone is clearly scared, even the owners. They then move me rooms for the exam. The vet tech inside the exam room said she was scared as well. The vet comes, gives a short exam and the shot, then says she hears a heart murmur. She sits with me and tells me that she could do the referral but it's expensive and Purdue would have to do it, and if it is a murmur there is nothing they can do anyways. Also let me know her cat had one and died and 7 years old, my dog is 8. No referral. At the end she mentions that it could have been present due to the stressful situation of the large dog and everyone being scared?? So it might not be bad at all she doesn't know. "Exam" is over I am trying to leave and a front desk staff says I need to go back in the room because there is another large dog out front. I wait in the room longer than the exam until the original vet tech sees me and finally checks me out. I get home and a front desk staff calls to tell me I owe an additional $68 because they undercharged me. I am shocked that they charged me $70 for an incomplete and invalid exam. I try to tell them that and they just keep saying if I won't pay it they will just bill me and I can deal with it. The office manager Monisa calls me back and says they are charging me for it and she will send my vaccine records so I can find a better quality vet. She mentioned the vet said she was unable to give my dog quality care, but they are still charging me. She refused to let me speak with anyone else. Offered me a discount but didn't let me know how much, and then said that they are a corporation and she couldn't change the charges. She said I was provoking her by asking questions when the information she gave me was extremely inconsistent. She then tried to hang up on me because I wasn't being "peaceful" when I was just trying to understand if they are giving me a discount and how much. I used to love this place and the vets, but the front office staff is extremely rude and unhelpful. They just care about money, not safety, not the pets, not you.

Pets and Vets is amazing! I recently started taking my dog Bonnie here and she had to visit numerous times due to surgery/surgery recovery. The staff has been accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable each time. They learned Bonnie’s personality very quickly and adapted to that. I also love the app that they have for quick communication and scheduling. I am very grateful to have found Pets and Vets as this is the best vet I have ever taken a pet to. Thank you!!

I have taken my cats to Pets and Vets for many years and couldn’t be happier about the care we’ve received. Dr. Bowers has been our regular vet and she is fantastic - so caring and compassionate. We’ve also seen Dr Strode and Ehlers on occasion and been pleased with them as well.I’d like to share an experience from 2 days ago. As I was arriving for an appointment with my cat an emergency came in. The dog appeared quite ill and the owner was hysterical. The team quickly went into action - took the dog to begin treatment while calming the owner (of note is the fact that the dog was not a client of Pets and Vets and they hadn’t called ahead - just showed up). I was so impressed with their quick action and compassion for this dog and owner. Pet’s and Vets is absolutely the best! They truly care about both the pet and the owner. I highly recommend them!

We have been taking our Shiba Inus, Finn and Evie, to Pets and Vets as Partners for more than a year now and we love how thorough they are when examining them. I feel like Finn and Evie are receiving the best vet care, and I am so thankful for everyone on the staff and the care they provide to Finn and Evie. We recently scheduled a dental for Finn and I had a few concerns and they listened to my concerns and adjusted accordingly and made it a positive experience for us. I was still nervous for Finn while he was there, but I knew he was being treated with kindness and I knew he was in great hands. I was especially happy that his vet tech, Amy, was familiar with Shiba Inus and their characteristics - It was a comforting thing to drop Finn off in the morning and meet the vet tech who would be with Finn throughout the day. Our Evie has some patella issues and I love that they always check her progress each time and they are very gentle with her during the exams, which is so important to us. Evie is such a sweet girl and she likes for people to say hello to her before the exam so she is more comfortable, and the vets and vet techs always take a moment to do that. We're so grateful for all of the professional care they have provided for Finn and Evie!I should add that they also helped us figure out all of Finn's numerous environmental and food allergies, and found a solution that would give him relief. He was absolutely miserable a few months ago due to all of his environmental allergies, and he felt so much better after starting on the medication Dr. Ehlers prescribed. He is doing so much better thanks to all of the extra work Dr. Ehlers put in and it's so nice to see him happy and goofy again.

Pets and Vets as Partners has cared for my animals for the past 17 years. They are gentle with my pets, and show professionalism as well as compassion. The facility is always clean, and does not have that "Veterinary Office" smell. When I had to say goodbye to my last fur baby, Pets and Vets offered a private area and allowed me to be with my dog for the procedure and stay after as long as I needed. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else.

We haven't had issues with Pets and Vets in the past; however, it seems as if they are just price gouging patients for services. We took our cat in to get spayed and wasn't told about how much it would be- even though I had asked and I was told to discuss with the tech. The tech didn't say anything other than "she understands price can be an issue sometimes" because they wanted to run another test at the time and I wanted to wait to see if spaying would fix the issue shes been having. With her answer I was expecting a decent sized bill. But We were very surprised with a $677 bill for our cat to be spayed to be told "it's the normal rate and you didn't ask for an estimate" didn't tell me if any of what was done was needed during surgery complications- just that "it's all normal" our dogs did not cost nearly as much, and the fact I did ask and stated that I’m not sure how much everything will be, if I can get an idea we may be able to do the other test, and was given a run around about prices because only the price of the X-ray was commented on. if the standard is over $500- maybe mention it to patients when scheduling so that they know that they will be paying a decent amount opposed to just surprising them with a almost $700 bill with zero sort of communication and run around answers. Unfortunately we will no longer be using this vet for services. I recommend always getting a price on things before they start racking it up at the register without letting you know prior.

I have been taking my puppy here for the past two years. Today we were due for vaccinations and annual checkup. Setting aside all the whisky washy minimal health care we got before, this time... the assistant did not use the scale correctly and I had to help her with it. Otherwise my puppy would be weighted 30% more than what she actually weighs.In the past two years, they also never mentioned anything about the teeth and concerns one should have for poodle mix, until now that they think a deep cleaning is needed. I would have brushed my pup's teeth way more seriously otherwise.... Overall, I don't have much experience with vet, but it just looks like I am paying for $$$ for questionable health care for my pup in the past two years...

Since we got our puppy Vera, we have been bringing her here. They have excellent staff who take good care of her and have a lot patience with her even if she is a very hyperactive and energetic puppy. Vera also loves coming here and loves to hang out with everyone in the office. Dr. Strode and Dr. Bowers are amazing! We are moving to another town in a few months, will really miss them!

Pets and vets is hands down the best vet I have ever been to! I rescued my first puppy (Maya) when she was just 4 and a half weeks old. I was very worried because she was so young, but Pets and Vets were there at all times to help me when I called them. They truly care about the animals they are helping. She got all her vaccines and check ups at Pets and Vets and Maya was so excited any time we pulled into the parking lot. They go above and beyond to ensure your dog's health, and to make you feel as comfortable as possible. They are awesome and their prices are great! If you’re unsure of where to go, definitely go to pets and vets!!! After I moved back home to NJ the vets here are nowhere near as good as Pets and Vets!

I have just started going to this vet but I can tell that they really care about my cat! Everyone here has a great sense of humor which is nice because going to the vet can be stressful at times. My cat is very shy towards other people but they made sure she was as comfortable as possible while she was being looked at. I wish I had found them sooner because of how great they are.

We just took out new puppy here, and I must say, I have never been so impressed. The staff was friendly, the nurse and vet were amazing and attentive to all of my questions and concerns. The cost was extremely affordable (in the realm of vet costs), and we truly felt like out dog had their absolute attention for the entire duration of the visit. I wish human doctors were this good!

I have been taking my dog to Pets & Vets for a year now and cannot rate them highly enough. The staff is always so welcoming and excited to see us when we walk through the door. The doctors always take my concerns seriously and look into the best care options for my pup. Dr. Ahlers is incredibly kind and easy to work with, making the trip much easier for us all. My dog loves going to the vet and I love the comfort of knowing he is getting the best service.

A truly WONDERFUL experience! We took our new rescue pup in over the weekend for his initial appointment, and they were so gentle and patient with him (a scared pup!) - and with us, as first-time dog owners! I was really, really impressed with how thorough our appointment was - we spent over 30mins talking with Dr. Strode about the exam, recommendations for care, options for treatments for our pup's anxiety, etc. The entire team is so, so friendly and knowledgeable - we were so impressed and grateful to have found Pets & Vets. Great COVID protocols as well. Truly cannot recommend them more highly!

We have had nothing but great experiences with all of the staff at Pets and Vets! Our Goldie is 8 months now and we've been taking her here since she was 10 weeks old. They have given her all of her vaccinations, answered ALL of our questions as first time puppy owners, and are always friendly and willing to help. One time, Goldie had an ear infection and we were having trouble administering her medicine and the staff texted us a picture of how to hold her using a stuffed animal. She got spayed yesterday and the communication has been great throughout the whole process. Highly recommend Pets & Vets -- We trust them with our life!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Pets & Vets, their staff, and their level of expertise! I have been taking my Pug here for 6 years. He has a way of finding mischief, so we have made our fair share of visits over the years! All of these trips have been wonderful and put this mama at ease from her panic! They are knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to go above and beyond. I also appreciate the way the staff genuinely cares about my dog and knows us both by name. It's like being part of a family! I highly recommend them!

The staff is friendly and kind. I've enjoyed all the vets we've used there. I have also used the grooming facility next door, as well as the kennel. All are wonderful...one stop shop! My animals get great care. At the same time, the vets understand that sometimes less is more, depending on the animal's age. I have always felt that they respected my feelings and financial concerns, versus the wellbeing of the animals. They have called me at home to check on my dogs after care was rendered, a nice personal touch. I've used Pets and Vets for at least 15 years and couldn't be happier with the care and concern they show towards my animals.
