I absolutely fell in love with this bunny the moment I saw her. Unfortunately, I did not know that Buckles does not take their surrenders to the vet before selling them to people. Little did I know I got her with an intestinal parasite. Two months later, after many extensive and expensive vet bills, I had to suffer the heartbreak of putting her down, tonight.If you're looking to adopt an animal from here, just know that they don't take them to the vet or don't know of any health problems. Avoid the heartbreak.

I adore this place and refuse to go anywhere else. I shopped multiple chains and franchises in years past so I can confidently say the prices are reasonable and competitive. We checked this place out when we got our pup a few months ago because we wanted to start shopping local. The staff were immensely helpful, the self service washing station is free with great products, and nail trims are only $5! The products in store speak to how much they care about the well-being of animals. I’ve never bought an animal or anything besides specifically dog stuff here so I can’t speak for that, but I seriously could not recommend this place enough as a dog mom!

I have mixed feelings about this place just because I visit so often. First off is their pet food is amazingly priced. Way better than the name brand stores. They have a wife variety of animals and have some rescues sometimes. So if you are looking for a pet rat I would check and see if they have any rescues you can take home. They have a rewards system for every 5 bags of food your 6th one is free. They have stuff for cats dogs, amphibians, reptiles, and arachnids. But also for birds, rodents, and a few other interesting animals. The only problem that I have ever really had is 1 the smell of the room where they keep all the feeder rats and the rescues. But I know they clean it regularly. And one time I got a rat from there and they said it was a boy. Without checking I got all the way home and found out it was a girl and had to come back and exchange it.

I'm glad that this was the only store in town that had in stock what we needed (gerbils) because otherwise, I might not have discovered it. Very well supplied store with kind and attentive employees and reasonable prices. My daughter was ecstatic that we could finally get our new family pets. Highly recommended.

Buckles is a great locally owned pet supply store. The staff is helpful, they have self-serve dog wash stations, and carry a bice selection of goods. Definitely a great place to visit. The upside is not giving your hard earned money to huge corporate stores. The prices here are competitive if not cheaper. Check it out and see for yourself.

This place is amazing! The staff was very pleasant as well as knowledgeable and informative. We had a surprise birthday gift for a hamster and they held the one my daughter picked out for a month and had everything ready for us to surprise my birthday girl! Thank you guys so much

The girl up front was friendly. They had a cat lounging around which I loved. The dog wandering around had some diarrhea and had an accident. The place is clean and it was neat looking at some of the pets in the back. But to be complete honest, unless you have a "exotic" pet, they are really expensive. I only have cats and a lot of the feline products are priced incredibly high. I can't comment on the items for other pets because I don't know the normal price range. In my opinion for cats, this place was overpriced. The only reason I went is because I received a $10 off coupon at the reptile expo.

Great place to shop for all your pet needs. They have a nice selection of birds, reptiles, rats, rabbits and ferrets. Don't forget to say hello I Marley (the stores resident 🐕) while you're there. Friendly, helpful staff.

I take my dog here whenever she needs a bath. They have 2 dog bathing units at up with dryers, one for larger dog's & one for smaller dogs. The last time we visited it cost $10, would recommend!

The workers were very nice and knowledgeable. I went in to get new dog food for my picky eater, and he ended up loving the recommendation from one of the workers (I can’t remember his name ;^;)! I mixed it in with his old food, but he ended up picking out the new food haha. They’re also taking very good care of two birds that were rescued :) we definitely give them two paws up!

Took us way too long to get assistance with staff waiting at the front counter instead of helping us buy what we needed.. their pet selection is pretty cool. Pretty inclusive items for what we need but the wait time... 5mins turned into half an hour...

Me and my girlfriends favorite place to buy our bearded dragon's food. The staff is very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgable. This place is probably the only reason I've held a snake in my life, which wasn't nearly as scary as I expected! If you're thinking about coming here just do it, they've got the big chains beat by a mile.

Someone told me that Buckles offers a hoist for nail trims. My dog gets VERY stressed and reactive to nail trims and medications that my vet trialed with her had mediocre results at best. Buckles got her up in the hoist and it went SO WELL. She was a little nervous, of course, but behaved very well and the Buckles employee was very thorough and careful with her dark nails. Additionally, nail trims at Buckles are super-cheap... $5 without the hoist or $10 with the hoist. They also offer a great selection of treats and toys. Shopping local is very little extra effort when there are excellent places like this!

I came by to get my dog’s nails trimmed, they were quick and careful with her. One of the best experiences I’ve had with getting her nails trimmed. And it was only $5! Definitely recommend!

The staff is great! In the past, they have carried heavy bags of dogfood out to my car. This time, I called ahead to see if there were any dogs running around loose in the store because I wanted to bring my male dog in for a bath. I was told that there weren't any, and that if I needed it to be "dog-free" to call once I arrived, and they would let me know if it was safe to enter. I did not know this was an option.There are two bathing stations and a gate that you can latch to prevent your pet from escaping the bathing area. There is a pull-out ramp for your animal to step on to enter the tub. Buckes also provide pet shampoos, conditioner, and bath towels for a low price. You can even latch your dog to a short leash in the tub so that s(he) remains still during bath time.This remains one of my favorite places in Lafayette and the best way to bathe my pet because I dont have to worry about stopping up my tub with fur or cleaning up afterward, and there are so many treats you can choose from to reward/bribe your pup for good behavior during or after the bath is done.

Pretty cool place. I called ahead and asked about a snake n they had all the info for it. Feeding schedule, what it ate and when full vet check n helped me find a snake for my father in law. I'll definitely be going back to get another one. Talk to the bearded guy he's the one that helped me out.

We love shopping here. They cater to all kinds of pets, only place to get all our ferret, cat, chicken, and dog needs taken care of at once. Staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. Staff are always quick to help you load your car if you've got big bags.
