We picked up some ground beef and ground pork. There are a ton of other meats available also: chicken, brats, bacon, lamb, etc. We also got a little deli container of three bean salad. I'm excited to try it out. The prices are pretty reasonable.

A week before Christmas I called around to get pricing on beef tenderloins. I was quoted $21.99 per pound so I placed on order for a 3lb tenderloin. Once I got home with the tenderloin, I thought it was rather pricey. I looked at the tag and I was charged $29.99 per pound. I called immediately and was told I was given incorrect information. The $21.99 was for a different cut and I was charged correctly on my purchase. On Christmas Eve when I took the tenderloin out of the bag to prepare for dinner, the tenderloin was in the shape of a football, not the cylinder shape I am accustomed to plus the tenderloin looked like it was in two halves. I clipped the string to find a very poorly cut of meat. (Please see pictures below). Because of the shape, it did not roast evenly. When I went to carve it, it was tough and one of my guests ended up chewing on a piece of gristle. NEVER again will I make a purchase at this establishment. Very dissatisfied.

For the area it's a very clean and convenient spot where they offer a nice selection of different types and cuts of meat as well as custom cuts and special orders. They also have items like propane, salt, and other grocery store type items. The produce section is small but they don't have the kind of traffic to maintain a fully stocked produced in my opinion.

Drove from Valpo to East Side Meat & Produce to buy some steaks. The store and employees were very nice, however, I bought 4 New York Strip steaks and even cooked slightly over medium they're so tough we can barely eat them. Not what I'm looking for when I decide to spend a little extra to have steak for dinner. Definitely won't be back! What a waste!

Picked up a 7lb. pork butt last week and smoked it this weekend. Fresh, Indiana grown pork. Was lean (as pork butts go) and absolutely delicious. Can't say much about the rest of the store, but the meat counter is impressive!

I love coming here! The staff is always so welcoming, cheerful and eager to help. The meat selection is phenomenal and the deli meats, mouthwatering to say the least. Whether you are passing thru or need that little something you forgot at the grocery store, this place is a great rest stop.

First rate help. Very good supply in the meat cases. Kroger yesterday looked like the apocalypse happened. Friendly. Purchased garlic bologna,ground chuck,couple sirloun steaks and Kowalski casing hot dogs for the grill. Glad I stopped!

Although they carry my favorite hot dogs I'll never return to this place. There's a couple employees that are wonderful but the owner UGH. He is so obnoxious and terribly rude. I won't support a business owned by someone who treats people the way he does, unacceptable.

I love the meat department but I have had a couple of issues with the food being expired. I just called and I can't exchange without the receipt. Who keeps a grocery receipt!?!

One of the best meat markets in the county. Excellent selection with very knowledgeable and courteous staff. Also, for a small store. They have an excellent selection for most common needs. Vegetable areas also very good. Highly recommend

My mom went in for pasta salad yesterday, she had her service dog with her. They refused to serve her saying they would only serve her and her dog if she was blind. After denying to service her at all, they went on to attack her physical appearance, her clothing, and her body hair. The owner participated in name calling and belittling, if you shop here you will be supporting ugly people.

My favorite place for my proteins!! Never let's me down,always consistent and best quality I've ever had! Great people who'll help make sure you're satisfied and help with any recommendations , advice,anything you may need! When great people provide great quality product you absolutely cannot go wrong!! Great selection and so worth the visit every single time no matter what i choose to get! Not recommend for vegetarians! Lol jk they got veggies too..

What a wonderful meat dept, from homemade brats and other sausage to steak, pork, chicken and much more. They have a real nice produce area and general store. You can't go wrong going there. Rather go there then a huge grocery store! This is also the place to get your deer processed. They are wonderful!!!

The store doesn't even deserve one star except for a couple of the employees who were polite. It was one lady I assume she was the wife of the owner in a burqa or whatever you want to call it watching me go down the aisle like I'm going to steal something. Now I drive a semi and I made sure to park completely out of everyone's way didn't block anything not even the sign although it says no truck parking I went inside and spent almost $50. Just as I put everything away and was ready to take off, the owner pulls up and starts screaming at me to get out of his parking lot. I told him I just went in there a shop and he said he didn't care I was blocking his sign which towered above my semi and you can still see it for miles. All in all I urge everyone to never go to this store

Eastside is a well run local gem as far as grocery stores go. They have everything I need, the prices are reasonable, and the service is always great. Any time I want some quality produce or meat I come here first. They source most of their meat locally so you can be sure you're buying fresh, no matter if it's steak, brats or burger meat.

I was introduced to this place by a nephew of mine, I have to tell you that they have the best smoked pork chops I have ever tasted, I have bought several now and have not been disappointed, they are thick and meaty without a lot of fat, this place has a grocery store and meat market in one, they have all kinds of meats so it would be worth it to stop in there and check it out
