EDIT - 2/11/24 - As you can see the owner responded back, which none of what’s in their response was true. The lady on the phone WAS condescending and rude. They for 100% fact did NOT say anything to my wife about putting the cake in the refrigerator either, so that’s lie number two. Upon reading the negative reviews on here, it seems that this place has a long history of being rude and unprofessional to their customers. They also have reviews blocked on their Facebook page, and when I went to leave a review they blocked me. Disgraceful and dishonest business practice!! BEWARE!!Just yesterday my wife ordered a cake for my birthday. She has been a long standing customer and has ordered many cakes from here. She picked the cake up and came home with it and checked everything out and it looked good. About 1 hour later, we opened it up to serve to guests. The picture attached to this review is what the cake looked like upon opening up. It appeared to have melted. The cake itself was delicious though, but my wife was very upset that it looked this way when it was time to serve to our guests.She proceeded to email J Edwards and describe what happened and show them the picture. J Edwards reached back out and said that from the picture, the cake melted. They proceeded to tell her she was supposed to refrigerate the cake prior to serving, and that the cake melted because it was hot out yesterday. It was only in the mid 50s low 60s yesterday. She was not told this from anyone, nor were there signs on the box stating this. The woman on the phone from J Edwards rudely said “I’m sorry but there are signs all over the store stating this, and the best we can do is offer you 4 cupcakes.” This is terrible customer service. Not only were you rude to my wife on the phone, but you also didn’t attempt to make the situation right and tried to blame her for the cake melting, and didn’t offer a reasonable solution to take care of a long paying customer. Terrible!! We will go somewhere else from now on.

Allyssa our oldest, coming in at 26 years old on August the 1rst, It's always been a huge deal about the CAKE. Insisting on a marshmallow icing with,chocolate cake and chocolate ganache. Absolutely amazing, with all the choices they have you can look on the website for all their different cakes and cheesecakes. The 10 inch round cake we ordered was 35$ and the cheesecakes run 45$ I think this is a great price for what you get. Order a few days ahead and keep in mind they are closed Saturday and Sunday. The shop also has amazing items like soaps, soup base mixes, dip mixes also I love anything to do with honey, they had a wide variety of honey candles, soaps and well... HONEY. The chocolates they make are good, I have had better but try one out and come to your own conclusion. This is a great shop with friendly staff that made sure my daughter had a wonderful birthday cake!

Wow what an Amazing birthday cake 🎂. Red velvet & cream cheese frosting. Seen this place when doing a google search for birthday cakes. Look at the reviews this place does incredible work. Kinda out of the way I drove past 4 times before seeing the store. Right across from St Vincent Hospital. So if your from out of town like me just look for St Vincent and your their.

The people at this bakery literally saved my son's 6th birthday! All our son wanted was a layered rainbow cake for his birthday. He saw it on Youtube and obsessed about it for a couple of months. That is all he asked for. No toys, just the cake. Our original plan fell through when the baker came down with the flu. We found out the day before his birthday she could not make his rainbow cake. Living in Lafayette, I was calling bakeries as far away as Indy. My son's therapist told us that she ordered herself a rainbow cake from this bakery and we immediately called sitting in the parking lot as we were picking him up from ABA therapy. They had one left and they were able to have it ready on his birthday! My son was ecstatic about this cake. He never eats his birthday cakes and this one - he has eaten 3 pieces in 2 days. Not only have we found our forever cake makers, but we also found our forever Christmas chocolate shop! We highly, highly recommend this bakery! Thank you again for saving my son's birthday!! You have no idea how happy you made our little boy!!!

I am a regular at J Edwards. The customer setvice is always friendly. Over the past several years they have been my go-to spot for birthdays and other celebrations. I do have a few criticisms but before I get to any of them, I want to say that overal they make beautiful and tasty treats that are delicious and satisfying. Also, we have never had a cross-contamination reaction when ordering gluten-free items for my son who has celiac. So my complaints notwithstanding J Edwards is a fantastic local establishment and I encourage you to give them your business.So, let me explain why I did not give them a full five stars. They are high for the Kokomo market. At times I wish they offered less ornate treat choices at a more modest price point, especially for someone like me who can not order from just any bakery. Additionally, their regular buttercream is WAY too sweet. For my money aim for a white chocolate/chocolate/creamcheese frostings as they are much more ballanced. Sometimes, the large cupcakes and cake by the slice and once even a whole bannana split cake had a rather dry crumb...they might want to think about moistening these cakes with jam or syrup.As I say, these. Highly reccomend. If I knew how to give 4.5 stars I would. I am a big fan.

When I need great tasting chocolates, a beautiful cake for a special occasion or cupcakes to share, I go to J. Edwards. Once you walk in the door, it's always so hard to make a decision. Not only do they have a plethora of delicious desserts, but they also carry beautiful jewelry, cute toys for children, lovely smelling candles, very tasty soup mixes, spreads, dips, and numerous other specialty items. You can find that special gift for that hard to buy loved one, or pick something up for yourself. The staff is top notch and very helpful. Their knowledge will assist you in making the right choice. I always recommend J. Edwards to all my friends and family. Stop in and see for yourself!

Oh my goodness, what a gem! I purchased four very large cupcakes (see pic), all YUMMY! My dad bought chocolate-covered cashews, which were also very good. Even though it would mean traveling 30 minutes from my house, I WILL be buying a cake from this place in the near future!

A big shoutout to Jennifer for her problem solving and willingness to help me and my poor planning today.I came in dead set to get my favorite cake in the whole world. I saw one sitting in the case and was ready to pounce. She said it was a preorder and couldn’t sell me the “happy birthday mom” cake that I so desired. She was quick to help me build a new cake out of the others available because I couldn’t decide and commit to just one flavor.I like to think that I am special and this was because I was defeated, but honestly I think she would do this for anyone.So, Jenny, even though I am disappointed you didn’t accept my bribe to buy the spoken for cake, I’m looking forward to possibly finding a new favorite. I’m sure “mom” will be happy she has what she ordered!

The cake looked fantastic!! We had the banana split for my son's birthday. Superb flavor! Deliciousness through and through. Layer after layer after layer. Very highly recommended. All their cakes look great! Tres leches is next. Geat service. Great atmosphere (I was dancing to their music 😎). Great price. Will most definitely go back. Phenomenal job!! We loved it!! 😋

Most terrible and unprofessional experience of my life! I ordered a cake and they charged me $50. When I went to pick it up it was the size of a cupcake. Who changes $50 for a cupcake!! Didn’t want to give my money back had to go in multiple times!! Never even apologized. Save yourself the trouble and money and go somewhere else!

Awful customer service. Sent my husband in to pick up a birthday cake for my mother’s 50th. Lady helping him from the back was very rude and reluctant to help him (there was confusion as to what the name was under). Rolled her eyes, scoffed, and acted annoyed with him from the minute he inquired about the cake. The cashier was very kind and tried to smooth things over. Husband profusely apologized for any inconvenience he may have caused, and she completely ignored him.
