I've purchased countless items that were spoiled in spite of a good date. Half and half, coffee creamer, and recently Oscar Meyer bacon.There was a freezer full of this bacon not selling at $9/lb. Suddenly the bacon had a good date at $4.99/lb. It is already smelling and tasting sour although the date shows good for more than a week.Chicken is put out frozen and discolored. The smell of old oil not being changed in deep fryers permeates the store on entering. Making a sale is not enough. The product needs to be good.

What's up with the one cashier she's been there a long time i think. The really old lady with the black frizzy fried hair , she wears a ton of makeup, she is as rude as rude can be. My husband is 5 years younger than me, he is 50, im 55 and she had the audacity to ask me while I was checking out my items " how I got such a young man to marry me and how nice for me, how did you pull that off?" 😳 my husband wasn't with me on this particular visit . I had to laugh because it's such a ridiculous question and to have the nerve to ask somebody that you don't even know is just weird and rude.......now every time I go in there I see her talking to the other cashiers and whispering, when there not busy,. She's a gossip.... hey lady, why don't you just do your job and be nice to people. Stick with the younger girls when hiring plz, these old ladies are a trip.

The ground sirloin I bought at Kroger's had more fat than the ground beef at 5-Star for twice the price. I'll stay with 5-STAR

I love this store. The sale prices are awesome and the cashiers are always smiling helpful and courteous! I'd also like to add not only good prices on the meat but quality meat.

Hard to rate any grocery store as being perfect, due to the cost of groceries nowadays. I pretty much go to where the sales are. If something is not on sale (or any store for that matter), it would not be my first choice to buy it there. The store was clean and had quite a variety. The things that are on sale seemed reasonable and so far have not been sold out when I was there.

Over priced. The meat selection is ok but scary, some of the "red" meats are different colors which is not good. We purchased steaks there and when we got home there was another sticker for different date and price.

Been over 10 years since I've been there. Lunch menu price was 5.99 for my favorite, tostada suisa. Want let down. For once I didn't have tone to eat to much chips and salsa. Quick and efficient. Food was amazing! Better than I remembered. Over all service and staff were great. I'll surely come again when I come back to town.

Absolute disgrace of a grocery store in terms of fresh food available, range and quality of products and cleanliness. This is a perfect example of a food desert amongst massive agriculture. Shameful.

The only complaint that I have right now are the shopping carts, most of them are junk and A lot of the time they don't have enough check out lanes open. Now two years later and it's still the same, no improvement.

Okay place to get a few groceries. If they would remodel and make it nicer, more people may enjoy coming here. I only go here if I really need something. It is closer to my lake house than driving to Plymouth.

Wow! Food is so high everywhere I go! $6.00 or more for a bag of chips ? Can't even afford grapes! By the time I buy bread at $3.00 and eggs at $4.00 and milk at almost $5.00 there isn't anything I can get extra period! And, I am wasting my time trying to buy "healthy" anything. That would only get me about 8 meals a month, if that.

Walking into the store, it smells musty. Most items are more expensive than other surrounding stores and they don't sell alcohol either. The back of the store by the meat and cheese smells like cat urine and if you want to purchase something after all of that, check the expiration date. This store could do a lot better and train their employees on customer service. Leslie needs an attitude adjustment.

In many respects this is s typical small-town grocery. Not new and nice, but functional. But there is one major pro and one major con that must be mentioned.Pro: Amazing meat deals. Like very surprising ones. Thick NY strip steaks $4 a pound. Awesome.Con: Very disappointing produce. Often poor quality but higher prices than in the city. Part of that is unavoidable due to location cost. But also, they package much of the produce on foam trays covered with plastic. It's wasteful and adds cost, but also it makes it harder for me to choose my own pieces, and buy the amount I want. The most egregious example - you can only get cilantro in a tiny bundle strapped to a 4x6 tray. And $2 for that! Blew my mind. Practices like this are decades old and inefficient. I would love to see them modernize the produce department to make it as competitive as their meat department.

About the only game in a town approximately 20 miles or more from anywhere. Bummer!And all these 4 and 5 star reviews about friendly workers and a clean store., great produce and prices. Where the heck are you shopping? Can't possibly be Knox! Does this only happen at certain times of the day? Day of week? The weekend? After hours? I'd sure like to know. Ain't seen nothing like that yet in 7 years! Sure would be something to behold!!

Groceries and isles in the store are dirty, overpriced, and out of date. Exspensive "off brand" items that are cheaper almost anywhere else. Items maked down only a few cents when theyre completely exspired. Employees dont ever hesitate to be unhelpful and rude. Very few workers there have any coustomer service skills at all. Overall not a good grocery store. We usually go anywhere else if we can.

Positives: Most of the staff is very friendly and the monthly meat sales are a good value.Negatives: The entire store needs a remodel, the floors are stained, old shelving, and the bathroom is absolutely horrifying! The produce department is severely lacking attention as there always seems to be something rotting. Most grocery items are overpriced.

This grocery store peaked in 1984 when it was built. Absolutely nasty, dirty, moldy store. Prices were okay, a little expensive. They know they can get away with it because they are the only grocery store around. If you don't know anyone who works there don't expect service. New to town don't waste your time here like I did. Rude employees; ignored me and spoke to the person in line behind me. Annoyed when I wanted to split my bill between cash and card. It's worth driving to another town to shop instead of this place.

Their produce sucks!!!Raised prices to ridiculous, Bread 3.00 per loaf outrageous!!Store has gone to hell, in my opinion. No electric carts, because they had one a long time ago, and it got tore up, and it was never replaced. Starke County has too many older shoppers to not care if you make store inconvenient for them! I rather shop at sanders!!!
