Well if you want to get a pet for a short term run this would be the place to buy it from. The cages are disgusting and I can see why most of the animals are not ready to be handled. There was a veiled chameleon that you could count every single one of their ribs because it was so malnourished. The owner and workers should be ashamed, when it was brought to their attention they shrugged it off stating they were only 1 person and didn't have time to do it all in a day, but they had plenty of time to play on their phone. I kept trying to talk to them about specific animals and the worker would dip out mid conversion to "help" one of their buddies that came in.

I bought a ball python from them last spring. After a week i noticed he was covered in mites. Got the mites taken care of, but he wouldnt eat the entire time i had him (6months). I have done extensive research and have vast knowledge on snakes (having owned a ball python prior for 8 years and i helped raise my friends 15ft berm), i am also enrolled in college for herpetology and did everything to accommodate, i took him to several exotic vets, but he ended up passing away anyways. I do not recommend at all.

The owner is a great guy he is honest and has very fair prices in comparison to other pet shops in the area. This shop is having some growing pains. However, they are connected with the nations biggest pet supplier. It has access to some top notch UV hanging and canister filters; as well as other sought after Aquarium/Terrarium supplies. If you're after something they don't have in stock or that is out of season the owner is more than happy to check and order it for you if possible.P.S.The owner is responding to reviews in the store. We are by no means friends but I do frequent the shop and I see improvement. He is running the shop almost alone now, good help can be hard to find. This market has been chaotic since covid, supply and demand make a huge difference when no one is working.His landlord needs to take better care of the building..... Shop here and help a small business into a better building so I can give them a 5 star 👍 I have worked in the pet industry myself there is only so much you can control 💯💯

My sister went here and she spent 50 dollars on a Guinea pig he passed away within a few days he was wheezing when we got him, bit to hell from the others, gunk in his eye, put in a box with bird poop in it but we didn’t know why he breathed like that thought he was just freaking out maybe needed a couple days to adjust she cleaned his eye and that looked a bit better but his breathing got worse. Looked it up and it looked like upper respiratory issues we didn’t know what to do we were going to call the store but they were closed so we figured we would wait till they opened but next day he was gone. my sister picked him bc she wanted to get him away from the others picking on him we just didn’t know the little guy was also sick or how to help him. Who sells someone sick animals or doesn’t at least make sure that if they are going to buy it inform them on issues you’ve noticed or how to help care for said issues to make sure they aren’t robbing somebody of 50 bucks while leaving a teenage girl sobbing over her now dead pet.

They have healthy animals and knowledgeable staff. We've bought an axolotl and a leopard gecko from them, and both are healthy and thriving.

Cool LFS (Local Fish Store) lots of tanks & stand sizes in store, lots of freshwater fish with species you don't normally see like stingrays. They have one tank with GIANT fish in it pictured below. Birds & reptiles are there too. Paludarium & critter tanks and stands are available too. Cool friendly people with knowledge. I don't live close, but I will definitely be back.

Our family always enjoys visiting this store. Extremely knowledgeable about the pets they sell. Tanks are clean. We've never had any issue with our purchases. We recently filled our tank with new fish. Thank you

Best small pet/ exotic animal place around. Better than big chain pet shops. The staff here own many of the animals they are selling. Snakes, axolotls, ferrets, many different lizards styles, parrot, HUGE fish for big aquariums/ ponds, rats, guinea s. You Name it and they probably have it. No cats or dogs here. Amazing selection and staff is so knowledgeable

Amazing store and staff! We drove a little over an hour and wasn’t disappointed. Adam is amazing, he answered all our questions was so sweet with my crying 4 year old and was just all around an amazing man. Will definitely be making that drive again. Left with 4 amazing fish.

Wasn't impressed with their selection of fish they seem to have more larger fish that are too large, in my opinion, for a regular tank at home. We bought fish from them before but this time was a wasted trip, 3 hour drive and spent less than 10 mins in the store.

Store is a mess, very understaffed for number of animals. I got crickets for my tarantula and 50% of them were dead or decaying. I would not recommend shopping here if you care about the longevity or wellbeing of your pet.

So far not good. My husband prepaid for a hermit crab on a Thursday, we call the following Wednesday and got told yeah it will be here between 1 and 3 and we said we would come by the next day. We show up the next day and got told to call around 3 it might be here. We call them back around 5 in the evening and got told it still hasn't come in and it might be there on Tuesday which would make it almost 2 weeks after we paid.

Good prices for fish and reptiles. Wide variety of critters not.found at chain stores. Store is a bit dark and dusty, but staff we're friendly. We live a ways away, and were in the area for different reason. Glad we stopped in and we will likely return.

I have been a reptile keeper for over 11yrs and am so disgusted with how their animals are being kept. I can't believe this place is still open and allowed to sell birds and reptiles. Cages are not cleaned, snakes that need higher humidity being kept on extremely dirt news paper and papers towels with very obvious stuck shed and eye caps. Teenage employees just standing around could be cleaning these cages. The birds had so much feces accumulated on the floor that the owner clearly doesn't care about. I hope a shelter rescues these animals. Please do research before purchasing anything from this store as I'm sure they are not going to give accurate care advice. My heart hurts for these animals.

The employees were knowledgeable and helpful. The prices are competitive with other bigger stores and some prices were cheaper. I was looking for crickets for my small brown anoles and at this moment they were out of stock, but gave me the next day they should be back in and the sizes they carry. I will be back later to purchase the crickets.

Really neat selection and a helpful, friendly staff. Saw some things I would not expect to see for sale on main street in Kendallville. Fun to stop in and have a look around, especially if you love fish and reptiles.

I have been to almost every pet store in Northern Indiana and this is the best one for fish. They also have a few birds and rodents and reptiles, but definitely the place to go for fish. I seen fish here that I haven't ever seen in any other pet stores. Check them out.

I went there to ask about problems with my aquarium. The guy seemed knowledgeable on the phone, but when I got to the store with my water sample that myth was quickly dispelled. He promised to have the owner call me the next day. I'm still waiting 30 days later.

Met the owner, Logan. Very helpful and knowledgeable about the animals in his store. Decent selection of reptile supplies & feeder insects. Well priced too. Will be stopping here more often for supplies for my scaly friend.

The staff and owner are very knowledgeable and always ready to help. They have a huge variety of fish, lots of reptiles and many other types of pets along with a good inventory of supplies. We highly recommend this place!!

I stopped here to just check the store out and I was pleasantly surprised. Adam was working alone and took a lot of time to educate me on starting a new fish tank and gave no pressure to buy anything just good information. I will buy everything for my fish tank at the store unless it is unavailable. The store deals with new and used equipment and obviously with pets. For those who are commenting that the place is dirty I would rebuttal that the place is a pet store. Animals poop, Pee, and die the place is not going to look and smell like a Radisson. This is a great place that is local and provide good service. If we do not support our local businesses then we will only have a Walmart and Amazon shop At. My only criticism is that the employee that I was working with was the only one there making it incredibly easy for someone to come in and cause trouble while he was helping me. Fish are in the back and register/goods in the front, this is a set up for failure with one employee. Thanks again- I'll be back.
