It's not often you go into a place, for the first time, then find yourself there 3 times that same week. From the esthetic, to the food, to the amazing staff, this restaurant had me in this state, the first week of 2024. If you haven't been, please go. Order the sweet potato fries with whatever entree your heart desires. They are worth the extra $2. They also have trivia on Tuesdays, Bingo on Wednesdays, and a wing special, which I will be checking out soon. The ambiance alone is worth checking out. There is something to look at in all corners of the bar area. Bonus, its kid friendly!!

Heard about this place bc we are avid dog lovers and they have a dog park. We visited for dinner on a Saturday night (in the midst of severe thunderstorm warnings) with the pup. Very nice, clean and well maintained dog park. Quiet spot that Saturday night with about 4-5 parties on the outside patio and 3-4 couples with dogs. We grabbed the pork nachos and cheese curds to snack on and tried a few of their beers on tap. Super quick service, food was ready within 15 min of ordering, and it was a pleasant experience! The food was delicious and beer was cold and good. Our pup caught some tennis balls in the park for a bit and we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere of the Indy neighborhood. We were already talking about coming back with some other dog lover friends of ours!Parking: Free street parking along the road the restaurant is off of

Natural State Provisions is a relatively new addition to Indy, and I hadn’t even known about it at first. I got to make a visit recently so here’s how it went.We arrived at around 6 PM on a Sunday and they were not too busy, so there were tables available.Just so you know, you have to order your food and stuff at the bar since the kitchen side I believe is closed. We got pretzels as an appetizer and they were really good!I got the Chicken Sandwich with waffle fries as my entree. And you’re probably curious to know, what were my thoughts?Honestly, it was just ok. There appeared to be more breading than actual chicken meat and the breading was very crunchy and crumbled really easily. Wasn’t a big fan of that. The waffle fries though were really crispy and their house sauce was also awesome!Overall, not a bad joint! If you’re in it for classic American food and a dog friendly setting, this might do it for you! I’ll maybe pay another visit here soon.

You place your order at the bar and help yourself to H2O and condiments/plates. But the burger was just as good if not better than 5 guys and I love that it’s dog friendly. The drinks are good! I had the spicy margaritas and Moscow mule. AlsoParking was very easy.

We used to love coming here but since the time we first visited the feelings have drastically switched. The food was priced higher multiple dollars higher than the menus online list, the dog park was unmanaged to the point of people were leaving because the bar had no issue with people leaving their jumpy dogs in there unattended while they were inside playing pool for close to an hour an a half. We watched every person have to annoyingly ask why their food was taking so long and it was a slow time in the restaurant. My food tenders came out a solid 15 minutes before my partners burger came out. It was hard to get any service at the bar which is where you have to order and the rail was nearly empty. Probably will not be back in due to all the charm leaving and prices becoming arguably too expensive for the quality and level of service we have experienced the last few visits.Edit to add: the reply is very backhanded. We went in expecting to spend a certain price because the last few years has hit everyone’s pockets we had a budget set and it was upsetting for the bill to be higher than listed online. We have been coming consistently for a while and while prices were definitely not higher than they are now our meals we ordered came with drinks and no longer do. So the price is higher than advertised, the appeal of free drink with meal was gone and the service was pretty deplorable, I’d imagine the staff hired would at least have competence of checking on their few guest. We were not the only people there that meal who were audibly annoyed with speed of service.

Visited this place for the first time on a Saturday night. There was a sign "Please wait to be seated" and we were ignored. So many people were walking by us, not acknowledging us and eventually one of us had to corner a person and ask if we could be seated. There were barely any customers but the service was so terrible. As far as the food, it was good. My only dislike was the chips. They are advertised as a bbq chip but there was no spice and more like a vinegar chip to me. Lastly, they force 20% gratuity on customers transactions. You can add additional, but the charge 20% to your bill no matter.... Never seen that. Overall, this place has potential but they need to work on their customer experience.*The "please wait to be seated" sign was posted near the door on the back of the hostess stand... Why would you have that sign if it's never supposed to be used? Also, if it's self seating, why wouldn't one of the many people who saw us standing there not say that? Just own it.

Cute simple decor, spacious patio, and dog park, full bar, wine, beer, solid food menu and pleasant staff. Service is walk-up to counter and find seating with a number for your order bar and food ordered at sperate areas. Food came in a reasonable amount of time. Breading on catfish was great but expect pretty thin filets (50/50 breading to fish). Corn bread and butter are quality. Smash burger was tasty but i should have gotten a double, the bun size is excessive for a single. I didn't like the coleslaw as a side as it didn't have a lot of flavor though it was a nice crunchy long cut slaw, I am admittedly particular about my slaw style. On the vinegary to sweet spectrum it's slightly vinegary. Overall great new spot for our area

We went here for brunch while staying in town with local friends for a fancy St. Elmo dinner reservation, & I daresay the bite of the weekend may have still been their wings. Their house rub was perfectly balanced heat & flavor, & double-fried wings are already goated when you can find them. I also loved their brunch spin on poutine, which was a generous portion for the price. The atmosphere is eclectic but in a curated, low-key way - I like the tasteful mix of salvaged old bar fixtures in the open, otherwise spare & cozy space, and they have a nice cocktail menu with a little bit of something for everyone. If I lived in town, I'd be hitting this place up at least once a week, & I'll definitely be back next time I visit.

We loved this restaurant! The atmosphere was cool! We dined in, sat at the bar! We ordered the fried catfish basket. It was fantastic, just the right coating, great flavor! The coleslaw was very good! We ordered the Autumn cider (Ash & Elm) which was tasty! The bartender was accommodating and very friendly! Will definitely return!

While I really appreciate the food at Natural State (corn dog, smash burger, cheese curds) I love the cocktails the most! The bartenders always seem to be coming up with new drinks, and they never disappoint. Recently I’ve loved the Ghoulia Roberts (fall inspired drink). This spot is definitely worth checking out!The dog park is an awesome neighborhood perk, and the giant patio outside is perfect for hanging with big groups.Kid-friendliness: My kids love coming to Natural State! They order the chicken fingers and corn dogs (great kid options), and of course always want to watch the dogs at the dog park.

Went over the summer, super cool spot and a very cute dog park outside. The food was okay - wanted to love the fried pickles because the breading is unique, but they were not crispy at all. There were two bartenders working, I walked up to order another beer, and neither of them even moved my way. I waited for 5-7 minutes patiently in case they were busy, but ended up being served by a staff member who LITERALLY walked in through the door, saw me waiting, and served me before he even clocked in (super nice guy, thank you!).ALSO - I paid cash for my food and first beer and then paid for another beer later on my card. On the card transaction there was a 20% auto-gratuity added for one beer. Their website states it's only 20% for bills over $40 but that is not correct. I hate to say this but check your bills!!

Tried the Stay Puft Burger- regular smash burger plus marshmallow fluff and peanut butter- couldn't help curiosity, it was very tasty, very messy. Give it a try!We also ordered pulled pork nachos, tasty combo of goods on top, looked lovely, large serving size.We had our dogs out on the patio which was lovely. To be able to eat at a dog friendly place.Food was great when we got it, but there was clunky service getting to that point, for a party of 6 our food came out at staggered times varying up to 10 minutes- we had to check a couple times while we were waiting outside with our dog, especially on a day that appeared moderately busy. We got an extra burger for free but never got our fries.I give the food itself a 5 and service a 3.Could've just been an off day or understaffed, Maybe service is better if you eat inside?

The food and beer is on point. The music is great, the servers are super nice. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because since their opening, their portions have gotten a lot smaller. An example is the fries in the pic. They really are good but not $4 good for the amount you get.

I was highly disappointed in this experience. Probably one of the worst try-hard places I've ever been to. And I REALLY wanted to like this place.Server was nice but explained they were having issues with the tap. It was way worse than that. Mentioned miller high life being on Sale. Great! Oh wait... out of stock. Sodas? Flat. "CO2 problems". Then She disappeared, gave our table over to the bartender without communicating that to us or him apparently as she was back and forth in the restaurant on the landline phone, presumably with support, since their credit software was down. Way to communicate. We had to get our own napkins, only one roll of silverware was at the table but we all had finger food. wings were served (by the bartender, not the server) we had needed drinks already for several minutes (not wanting to bother the bartender whom at that point i had just assumed was helping out-), I had to go to the kitchen to find someone. They had to chase down the bartender since server was completely AWOL. Then after all of that, I bit in to cheese curds that were NOW cold and so over cooked it was nothing but breading. We had waited almost 45 minutes by this point. I mean is it too late to ask for my money back? I had such high hopes for this place.Oh the wings you ask? Couldn't tell they were Buffalo wings since they had so many other flavors... none of which match up with or pair well with Buffalo sauce. Frankly I almost wonder if they just got the order wrong...?The sauces they served ranch/bleu were extraordinarily salty (oh and no celery, at all, on dollar wing night. Not even in the restaurant. Someone tell their "chef" what mirepoix is. He's from the south you say? Oh then its trinity... but still includes celery. No wonder why they can't make a decent meal...). They tried to boujie everything up but instead made a mess with over salt, overly herbed, total mess in general. "Ranch"? More like dill pesto. With salt.Plus both the tap and sodas were absolutely messed up.......and no server to be found.Had asked about vegan options, as they advertised such options. Was met with a blank stare.Don't go here unless you absolutely just want to be disappointed. And spend too much money.(Bartender, you were awesome. Thanks my guy. You get 5)

Very fun place. Food was great (pulled pork sandwich). Ice cream was even better!!! Great service. Good indoor and outdoor seating. Didn’t use the dog park this time but plan to come back! Ample free street parking.

Cute location. Food was universally underwhelming. Tastes like it’s all frozen from restaurant supply. Had very bad service and had to get my own refills. I thought it was weird to get such bad service until I got the check with the automatic gratuity. So you get European service with an American gratuity. $60 for a bad dinner with no drinks.

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. We come here with two young kids… often. We get a beer and let them roam outside. The food is just ridiculous. Best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. Simple menu and not overdone in the best way, always comes out quick. Hidden gem!

Cool spot in the old Flat 12 brewery building. They have a nice patio area adjacent to a small dog park. They have a full bar and have a basic, but decent, mixed drink/cocktail menu. They also serve several Pax Verum beers. We didn’t try the food so can’t comment on that.

The Thai iced tea ice cream is worth a visit by itself. The great beers and food are just a bonus on top of that. The smash burger and chicken sandwich are fantastic (although the use of bread and butter pickles is baffling). Crunchy delicious waffle fries too.I'd suggest eating inside, as the outdoor tables have dogs all over them, since the dog area is very popular.

Amazing food and great beer! The staff is excellent. We really enjoyed the bar area (billiards), as well as the dog park outside! Can’t wait to spend many summer nights on the patio with my dog and one of their unique cocktails. Forgot to mention the homemade soft served ice cream!

Overpriced. 3% charge for using a card… 20% automatic gratuity over $40. I always tip 20% or higher, imposing gratuity doesn’t inspire motivation for service. In fact every item I ordered was rang in wrong creating a bill that was $7 more than it should’ve been. I wonder if that was done on purpose to generate more of a tip? I mentioned the items to the bartender whose reply was “oh I think our prices just went up but if that’s what the menu says I’ll change it” he then corrected one part of it but ignores the other item that was $4 more than what I actually ordered. I wasn’t trying to split hairs over 4 bucks so I let it go but if your bartenders are altering items on every ticket hoping the customer won’t notice then I guess the automatic 20% gratuity is working out quite favorably for them. Not to mention the nachos were just ok as well as the drinks. 2 drinks and one nacho isn’t worth $50 to me.

Great food, great outdoor space. The dog area is clean, water is provided (via hose). The only downfall is that dogs aren't allowed inside (due to the kitchen, I'm assuming) - therefore it makes it a hard place to visit by yourself unless you leave your dog in the enclosed area while you go to the bathroom. Some people certainly did, my dog however is very not okay with me leaving her alone like that, nor am I. Would be great if there was an outdoor restroom and outdoor service bar to mitigate. Otherwise, we had a really great time!

The food was ok but took almost an hour to get out.The service was neglectful. They add a 20% gratuity, don't tell you but still include a tip line which isn't really needed due to the service. We've given the place a couple of tries, but won't be back.
