We’ve had wonderful experiences at Barkefellers. One of our dogs is social, and we’ve enrolled him in their daycare. He always comes home happy and tired, and he’s eager to walk in and see his friends. We just boarded both dogs for a week and everything was great. Regular updates, pictures, news on how they were eating. Nice selection of room options, some with indoor-outdoor private access for the dogs to pee. They came home clean, with trimmed nails, and in good moods. Totally content with the experience. Great job Barkefellers!

We’ve been using this location since we movedto Indy. My wife and I live downtown and have closer options. We tried and just was never pleased with the service or care. Barkefellers has the nicest, most caring staff that truly get to know your pups while they stay-whether it’s daycare or boarding! Thank you all for loving our two pups!!

Update (based on Barkefellers' response): First, our dog's nervous behavior does not excuse the incredibly rude behavior the staff showed us. If they are terrified of a small, 14-pound dog being nervous, then they should not be in business because they clearly do not know how to take care of dogs. They must wet their pants whenever any dog bigger than that comes in! This place is a joke and you are much better off going elsewhere (to some place that actually knows how to handle dogs and will take care of them).Please stay away from this boarding place. Literally any other pet boarding place would be better than this one. The staff here is extremely rude and will make things very difficult for you and your pet. The check-in process was impossible, so we ended up just cancelling our dog's stay and taking her to Paws n' Play in Fishers which has a much better staff and was very flexible to take her in last minute. The rude staff alone makes this place not worth it. And with the way the staff treats the customers, there's no telling how they may treat the animals who are boarded here. Stay away!

Awesome place with Amazing staff! I board and have my dog groomed here. They always keep me up to date on how he's doing, he is a finicky eater and they take the time to encourage him to eat. Love this place and so does Riggins ♥️

We took our puppy in for his first day and they where lovely. They checked in with us and let us know all about his day of play with all new dogs. And they let us know other program's that are available so they are really the best I can't wait to take our pup to a place he loves during the week.

If you think good animal care is expensive, try bad care. Barkefellers is worth the money. We have tried lesser boarding facilities and we have to worry when we're out of town. They're scrupulous about sticking to our instructions and regularly communicate with us. The grooming services are good and the staff is very willing to serve. I wish there were more places like Barkefellers.

Recently came in to sign up my dog for daycare as they have a thousand times more energy than my senior doggo, and was walked thru the process which was very simple, answered all my questions and listened to my concerns and she came in for her initial day just a couple days later and she seemed very happy and tired (which is a good thing) after her day of playing hard while I was at work, she slept so good on the ride home and had much less chaotic energy upon getting home so we will definitely be back regularly!

I’m a new patient and came in for my dogs first grooming appointment. They did not clarify and say that my dog needed 3 different vaccines to get groomed. Rabies were up to date, but they failed to explain that I needed all 3 to get her groomed.Recommend that they should probably let new customers know before wasting time and coming in.

My best buddy Tag love the staff. The facilites are always clean. I even like to stop in during daycare to check on my buddy. The staff loves their guests. Grooming services are fantastic. Tag loves to get his nails trimmed and a good spa treatment.

I always know my dog is in excellent care while staying with the staff at Barkefellers. We received reports on her stay and it was reassuring knowing we could see her on video. She was groomed after her stay as well and came home looking great.

Always an amazing experience with Barkefellers. Huckleberry (who recently passed away) would always come home happy, well cared for, and tired. They are easy to book with, fairly priced, and accommodating to schedule changes. I highly recommend them. And the “report cards” they shared after a visit are great!

Took my dog here while I was out of the state for the weekend. I purchased the silver package so he would get 2 play sessions. He passed his temperament test so he got to play with other dogs! Odie received a great report card and was definitely wore out when I picked him up!

Me and my pup love this place! The staff has always been super friendly and helpful. My dog does like being in a crate so I was so worried how he was going to be the first time I bored him here. After picking him up I received a report card for him and they told me he got lots of attention from the staff and did great! I love that this place offers a variety of services. It makes it so easy for me. My pup just finished up level 1 day school for obedience training and I feel like he is a completely new pup and the trainer empowered me to feel more in charge of my pup. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a doggie daycare, boarding place, or grooming service!

Our youngest pup, Ori makes her appearance at doggy daycare at least a couple times a week. And, she loves it! It's like her second home! Most of the time at drop-off and pick-up the staff is busy but they're friendly and efficient, especially being pulled in several directions. Thank you for giving Ori a place to socialize and exhaust some of that puppy energy (she sleeps hard when she gets home)! ❤️

The staff at Barkefellers is excellent! They are friendly and welcome my dog by name. Lucky is a regular attendee once per week. They do require the flu vaccine which seems a bit bougie - but my dog loves this place so much it was worth it!!! Full day is $25 unless you buy packages then they apply a discount.Facilities: This is an outdoor/indoor facility with water works for those hot summer days. The grass is synthetic. It’s not a nature lovers paradise, however it provides a space for my dog to romp about and socialize.Happy dog = happy me!I would like it if they had a live stream so I can check in to see how he’s playing. They do have a photographer come in for holidays like Christmas and Valentine’s Day!

Our dog had a grooming appointment at 1pm and at 4:45pm I was calling to see what was taking so long. The groomer proceeded to tell me our dog had a skin condition and she couldn't finish him. I picked him up and he was wet, she had brushed so hard on his coat that she left small wads of hair everywhere. He looked terrible. I rushed my pet to the VET the next day to find he didn't have a skin condition at all (75.00 later). I think she was overwhelmed with grooming appointments and just couldn't get it done. Very disappointing and unnecessary. They could have just rescheduled his appointment if they were overbooked. I'll never go back. Groomers should refrain from giving medical advice.

UPDATE - This is in reply to Barkefellers response below - I spoke to Julie on Friday, and she was the one who told me my dog would be “accommodated” in extended daycare the rest of the stay. Nothing changed even after speaking with Julie. Clearly there is no follow through, even after complaints and promises to rectify.REVIEW - Boarded my dog in a luxury suite, which advertises the suite includes All Day of Play (MORE than five hours in daycare a day). I was very clear prior to booking that not having my dog stuck in a room for hours was very important to me, and I would prefer to book somewhere else if they couldn't guarantee he wouldn't be. I was reassured he would be in daycare the entire duration daycare was open, with the exception of meals. First day, they have him back in his room for the day at 3pm. I called to ask what was going on, and was told that because their daycare was so booked, ALL of the boarding dogs are only permitted to be in daycare from 10-3. The rest of the time they are in their rooms. For comparison, per their own confirmation to me prior to booking, daycare is open 6:30a - 6:30p Monday - Friday, and 8:30a - 6p on the weekends. I was obviously very upset by this, and was told my dog would be allowed to be in "extended" daycare for a one-time accommodation (though their own website advertises the suite comes with a full day of daycare, and I was told that prior to booking?). Next day I check the cameras, and, again, my dog is back in his room for the day by 4p (and, again, he didn’t leave his room until 10a). Morning I picked him up, I didn't see anyone come in to take him out to go potty, and he was pacing back and forth in front of the door and scratching at the glass. I checked the cameras again shortly after (around 9:45a) and could very clearly see a large puddle of pee on the ground. My dog hasn't had an accident in years, and the size of the puddle indicates to me that he had the accident because, by 9:45, he still had not been let out. Absolutely will not be going back here again.

Our Basenji is is a little picky when it comes to boarding facilities, but he loves Barkefellers! The staff are always amazing and the facilities are clean and secure. He loves playing with the friends he's made there and we don't take him anywhere else. It's his "doggie hotel" when we go on vacation.

My main issues center around not feeling like this place actually cares about my dog. My wife and I bought the 10 day daycare pass and we have used 6 of them. At the end of the day whenever I ask how she was or how she did, the staff can't answer that question and say they don't know. Frequently I'm standing in the lobby waiting for about 5-10 minutes while others pick up their dogs in a fraction of the time. When I've asked what takes so long, they claim that they can't find her because she's a different color than is normal for her breed. The place is very big and very nice, but at the end of the day, it feels like they just don't care about your dog the way other daycares in the past have shown they do.

UPDATE:Barkefellers reached out to me after seeing this review and we talked in detail about my dog's experience and they promised to fix the issue going forward. Bumping up my rating due to the effort on their behalf.ORIGINAL REVIEW:It's a nice place for dogs to board, but there are issues with staff. We have not yet met one person here that knows how to put on prong collar the correct way - one day it would result in the collar puncturing a dogs neck :( They have difficulty flowing basic instructions for feeding the right food to the right dog - all my 3 dogs eat different prescription food. We provide Barkefellers with measured and marked containers for each meal for each dog. Unfortunately they still can't feed the right food to the right dogs. This happens almost every time we board our dogs (usually for a week or more costing 1.5k+). For the cost of boarding, we expect at the minimum that the right food would be provided to my dogs.

I've had my dog stay here a couple of times and he always comes home tired from a day of play. My only real issue is the staff at the front desk. None of them ever seem excited to greet your dog from the time of check in to the point they are walking them to the back. They always have a tone and look of not wanting to be there as if you dropping off your animal is a chore to them. It doesn't make me feel good leaving my dog with someone who gives off that vibe. I understand not having a good day but that attitude is consistent among the staff no matter the day.

Barkefellers is the best! Our Molly girl just loves it there! The people are fantastic there! They take such great care of our girl while I'm working and they absolutely love her! I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone needing a place for their pet for daycare. She's always so tired when leaving there and I can't thank them enough for taking such great care of our girl!

Barkefellers is awesome! We board our rambunctious Australian Cattle Dog here and he has so much fun playing with other dogs and the groomer is able to cut his nails. He gets too anxious when me or even our vet tried to trim his nails but somehow they are able to do it. I always feel confident that they are taking excellent care of my dog.

I've taken my dog to the Northeast and South locations. My dog always has a great time. The people working at both locations are always quick to great when you enter the building. Everyone is friendly, kind, professional, and attentive to me and my dog.

I really had high hopes for this place and I was pretty disappointed…the facility itself is very clean and beautiful and the lady who contacted me on the phone was so very sweet and helpful. Very friendly in getting my dog set up. However, my experience In person was far from that when I brought my fur baby in for pet sitting. The staff were so apathetic and didn’t seem to want to try. Idk where the nice gal on the phone went bc she wasn’t there at all. I had asked how my dog had been that day and no one could answer. That was a red flag. My dog was obviously dehydrated so no one must have given her access to water. Her pee was super dark and she chugged two bowls of water when we got home. She reeked too. Idk what she was laying on but I’m going to have to take her to the groomer it’s so bad. I don’t think anyone took her out because she had a big bathroom break before we got in the car and had a large accident when we got home. She hasn’t been herself the whole evening extra wound up, impulsive, and skittish. No reports on the day on their portal, no photos or live stream available for the location, and no one could tell me what happened today. My dog can’t tell me what happened and if she was treated right. Again, I wanted to like this place but I don’t think I’ll be back.

I would absolutely recommend Barkefellers to anyone! When our usual boarding place over booked, I desperately called Barkefellers for a weekend stay for our German Shepherd, Max, and they came through! I love how big their rooms are and that he can go inside or outside whenever he wants.I know some have reviewed it is pricey but where we boarded before was more expensive and had a lot less accommodations. (Like bedtime tuck in! Who could say no to that?!)I happily say Barkefellers is now Max’s #1 spot for boarding when we are away.
