This had to be one of the filthiest stores I was ever in. When I asked the cashier if she was alone she said no her manager was sitting in the office. In between customers she was expected to work freight and also clean. In between customers? There were 6 people in line, when does she have time to clean and work freight? The customer in front of me was so angry she yelled, "you come out of that office and get on a register" the reply by the red haired girl from the office was... That register takes cash. AND!? I know the cashier was embarrassed to death. The store manager should be embarrassed. So should the district manager, and so should Corporate.Store # 11137 Hobart Indiana. People here in Hobart are proud of our city we will not shop in filth.

Do not go in there if you are a person of color because you will be racial profile by the Filipino lady at the register. I don't know how she still have a job there they must be desperate. She followed my daughter around the store. Then she started to argue at a another black woman why did she come into the store. I know you came into the store for something. The customer told her they didn't have what she was looking for and the cashier continued to argue with the lady. And the customer continued to keep her cool. I couldn't believe a worker was arguing a customer down like that very disrespectful. Then after she went on her register just to complain about customers to another customer. She just talk talk talk. She's not there to work. She's there to talk. The line was so long cause kept talking to the customer complaining. They already barely have workers there. As long as she's there I won't be. That lady is the worst. This was in February 2024. She's always in there holding up the line just talking and complaining instead of ringing us up so we can get out of there.

Great clean store, has drastically changed under a new manager, shelves are stocked, floors are cleaned and overall just an entire better experience than it used to be.

It's a damn shame the employee's are making pocket change to live on! Treat your workers better! I know this one worker ,a hard worker everytime I go in there and you will lose this one too like the rest that walked out!

Dollar General is my "go-to" place. This one is open until 10 pm, BONUS!!! It is right down the street and has plenty of parking. The staff is polite and ambitious. They turn over their products readily. They don't rush you out the door, even if you come in close to closing time. I know management recently changed, and it shows. The store is not perfect but more organized. I can get a cart down the aisles. This is always a win.

THIS STORE...Needs to be SHUT DOWN. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK! WISH there was an option for" negative ☆s" What the hell is wrong with corporate not addressing this DUMP. Somethings REAL SKETCHY about manager/ few other employees & " customers??" when I was there about 2 years ago. Quit going.

This store needs an intervention. The employees themselves are great but this Dollar General has been running on a skeleton crew for quite some time now and it really shows. The constantly dirty floors and bare shelves gives off the vibe that this location is going out of business. It's been like this for over two years now. I suspect it's a management issue because absolutely zero care is put into making this store look presentable and while the workers are always nice, turnover is very high.

Terrible. They are barely ever open due to staffing I'm assuming but I just called before I tried going so I don't waste my time and the girl said " we're open" then hung up on me. Super tacky. Do better.

Changing my review of this store. It's really a shame that the store today, looks nothing like the shown pictures or the store I previously reviewed. The store is a MESS, and has been rapidly going downhill over the past years. Shelves are empty and totally disorganized. They apparently have a theft problem as I can't believe the P.O.S. system would allow the store to be this understocked. Really a shame. Was really a good store not long ago

One employee in the entire store. I believe the cashiers name is Vernice. Please give her a raise immediately!!! Such patience and professionalism with her work situation. I was probably number 10 in line. The other customers were obviously growing impatient but she did her absolute best to be kind and friendly! I can guarantee this store probably lost a few customers this evening. I hope management reads their reviews and addresses the situation

I am changing my review, I would always go to this store the employees are nice but now they close because of them being short employees maybe dollar general needs to up their pay and maybe they will have enough employees to cover each shift. Went at 4pm yesterday they were closed just went there now guess what?!? They are closed!!!! Dollar general you guys need to get your stuff in order

I was at this store on Sunday around 330pm 10 customers in line with 1 cashier Dave the assistant manager if your reading this you should be fired you suck at it How can you leave one cashier in the whole store by herself. Vernice did a great job being by herself.

I was in Dollar General today in walked in there's an African American man with no mask on but everybody else is wearing a mask a customer. And one of the managers is upfront looking at stuff and she didn't even say nothing to him I don't think I just went into Dollar General on Wisconsin 29th 529 and nobody greeted me when I went in this is getting pretty bad because last time I went in they didn't greet me say how you doing or anything all they ask you is if you find did you find what you were looking for I think you need to retrain them because before the crew you had before they were they always greeted everybody so we don't have to come there we could go somewhere else

I went for a small till of strong packaging tape and found a few other items I have been looking for. Low prices and the store was not ravaged. The customer service was very nice too.

I go to this Dollar General quite often because it's near my house. I give it a 3 star rating because most of the time that I walk up to the register there's either a very long line with only one cashier ringing, or either no cashier at all & I have to tag one down. Also, they don't keep certain products stocked on the shelf that I need. They are out of alot of things very very often. The cat nip has been unstocked for a couple months now. Amongst other things. The shelves are very sloppy as well. Other then all that, its alright.

The worst customer service ever. The cashier and the manager both lied about the tobacco federal law-stating they can't exchange unopened pack of cigarettes. When in fact they can as long as the tobacco products are unopened. The mistake was hers, not the customers. I often wonder if employees realize;" if it wasn't for customers,they wouldn't have a job".

It's AMAZING, how they pack so much variety into that small store! At the Chesterton/Porter Indiana store, the staff there are always so cheerful!! I go out of my way to shop at that location, instead of one that's closer to where I live!

Never have products in stock shelves are always bare Wich is not their fault because of trucks being late and not enough workers to unload and stock shelves is what I was told the employees are always very friendly and helpful

I downloaded the app for DG to use the digitsl coupons and I asked the clerk was there a reason I could not connect to their wifi, the person stated the wifi doesn't work well at all, i told the clerk but I could not even get my own phone network to work in the store. The clerk response was that happens a lot in here, you'd have to go outside or by the window.My question why do DG offer digital coupon and your stores not support the use of customer to use it?

Unfortunately there's alot of regular non- seasonal items that were not stocked making your choices if merchandise slim. It's sad cause the store used to be cleaner and organized alot better.

General dollar was in charge of the 51nd brigade out Discount Alabama.
