It's a four because all the restocking boxes are always out in the Iles and I once found open food and toys so it could be better but if you have extra cash I recommend coming here the prices are really cheap and they have a good selection of items.

I love the old 5 and dime feel. But, stocking is a real issue. There are always carts with boxes of merchandise in the aisles making it difficult to move around. The store is under staffed and the public doesn't always put things back where they belong. It's a shame to see a nice store in such a mess.

I've always come to this location even though there are OTHER OPTIONS. Not anymore! The "New evening staff" Is awful! Rude, nasty, unprofessional! Corporate needs to come and take a close look at this location and make some drastic change's to the store and useless pathetic employees. To have a business in a small town and see the same people over and over and then treat them like garbage is absolutely unacceptable.

It was very busy stuff wasn't ringing up right. I felt sorry for the lady that had to work by herself until 1 PM . But she was awesome everyone was patient with the situation. The store was a mess. That poor girl should be paid 3 x her wage. She was very sweet.

The workers are nice. This store is unorganized, dirty, my father is a double amputee and he can't even go in this store with his wheel chair or scooter you can barely get the carts thru the store. New management is in need to get that place cleaned up sad. I love going to Dollar General but not this one.

After leaving the Upland store because they decided to close early on Sunday night, I called Hartford City to confirm they were still open. The representative stated they were open until 10pm. I arrived at 9:55pm as the lady was was locking the door as I was standing there. She told me the store closes the doors at 9:55pm, which was never stated on the phone. She did let me in to grab my one item needed but was sure to tell me I only had 4 minutes. Sorry to inconvenience you with my 30 second trip inside the store. This place is a joke

Selection is pretty good. Check out speed is lacking. A lot of times it takes 5+ minutes to get thru the check out. Cashiers are not rude, but they're typically not very friendly and bubbly either. They give off a vibe that they're over-worked and underpaid.

Someone tried to charge my card for over $900 here, and as far as I know nobody has been arrested. You all may want to have better security set up so that people can't come in and use other peoples debit card information. The only reason they didn't get away with it is because I didn't have that much in my account, because I'm more broke than they are. I hope the individuals were reported after the card was declined.

Well first of all, I shop here almost every day. The reason being, it's about the only store left in this little town. It takes forever to get through the check out. The reason being, everyone else shops here also and you always have to wait in line for awhile. Otherwise, the employees are friendly and helpful.

Went to Hartford City Dollar General instead of My Marion store. There were a lot of Mid-Aged Woman working this store and everyone was so nice and pleasant! I enjoyed My experience in Hartford City, In. Store. Thank You For Being So Nice In This Crazy Time In The World!!

This location is horrid. The aisles are too cluttered to walk in let alone push a cart down or have someone with a wheelchair or walker get through. Most of the employees, including the store manager, are rude to most customers and downright hateful towards anyone using coupons. They act like the coupon savings are coming out of their own pockets! Dollar General Corporate has been contacted about this store several times and changes have yet to be seen. It's best to just drive to Eaton or Royerton if you need anything from Dollar General.

I believe we have two Dollar General's 2 in Hartford City, Indiana and I will continue to choose this one. Yes, at times, they are short staffed, but every employee goes out of there way to assure you get what you need. Not many go above and beyond; especially, when short staffed and during these difficult times. Thank-you (all) for your time, patience, and courtesy.

This is simply the WORST business establishment I have ever been in. Why?Dark, crowded, full of junky stuff. Staff was rude and unhelpful. How often will I visit again? Never, ever in this lifetime! I feel sorry for the locals who have to shop in this horrid little place! Do I feel better? Not at all, but this place needs to change drastically.

Lousy service. The clerk was rude. I had to call her to get her to wait on more than 4 people in line. She then told me to ring the bell, but there was no bell there. She never apologized. Very inconsiderate.

Really like Dollar General stores but this one is SO crowded! They don't have enough people working at once to take care of customers, stock shelves and clean. Also, they are smaller than most neighboring DG stores so they can't carry as many items or as much variety.

So if you need something quick and cheap this is a decent place to visit. They may not always have exactly what you want but probably have what you need. It's a little dirty and unorganized but the staff is friendly and helpful.

It is nasty an when you walk in you either have to go through the deoterant part of their Is more than one person at the cash register. Some of the workers are rude. After I leave the dollar store I feel nasty. I think the dollar store in Hartford city sucks and you should never go to it EVER!!!

Dirty, unstocked, and unorganized. This place was so dirty I felt I needed a shower when I left. Plus half the store wasn't even stocked, and stuff was just sat in piles in random places around the store. This store is so bad it needs shut down.
