I wanted a hamburger but no bun with Swiss cheese and onion with onion rings. The onion rings were great but the hamburger was small and leathery for the price I was charged. Did not get the chips but no price adjustment for switching to onion rings.The waitress actually suggested this supposed combo. Husbands beef manhattan had large chunks of fat.

Their BLT is delicious. My mama and I rarely get anything other than their BLT, although the other food we've gotten there is also delicious.We ask for the bacon on the BLT to be deep fried extra extra crispy which makes it even better to us.Parking: They do vet very busy ans sometimes there's less parking available, but definitely worth going there to eat.Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu

This is home-cooking @ it's best. One of the specials today was the volcano pot roast which I had because it's one of my favorites. The roast beef is tender & plentiful with gravy over mashed potatoes & on a piece of white bread with onion straws on top. Somehow that piece of white bread tastes so good with soaked up gravy & reminds me of my youth. Seasoned green beans with onion bits & bacon round out the perfect meal. I had the leftovers for supper & it's great reheated, too. Harlan Cafe has great skillet breakfasts, sampler, & pancakes & several different waffles done to perfection. Never had a bad meal here!

AMAZING FOOD!! Great atmosphere friendly staff, good prices. We ate here 3 out of 5 days we were in town. Anything on the menu is delicious you cant make a bad choice. Will most definitely return when I'm back in town and would recommend it to anyone.Kid-friendliness: It's definitely a place where you can take your child too.Wheelchair accessibility: They allow service animals.

They set us at a dirty table. Food all over the floor. Ordered the spicy chicken strips basket with fries and coleslaw, coleslaw was The only thing Worth eating, the chicken strips were cold and so was the fries and would not come back to refill coffees. Husband got 3-piece fish dinner with fries and coleslaw and his food was cold also then they charged us over $30 for that. Couldn't complain because the manager was sitting with the Amish, and the waitress was overworked.

Food is tasty and the staff is friendly. I enjoyed the burger that I had it was well cooked and very warm also got a half (4 piece) onion rings on the side.

Had the waitress explained to me that I'd have to pay $1 for a slice of tomato, $1 for a piece of lettuce, and $.89 for onions to be added to my jalapeno burger, I would have just ordered it as plain as the menu stated. Then, because there's only a few jalapeños on the burger, I asked for a side, which I was also charged another $1 for. Don't ask for extra ice to be added to your tea, or you just might be charged EXTRA for that.It was $38 for my husband and I to eat lunch there, and all we ordered was the jalapeno burger and a Buffalo wrap. You'd think the fries were cooked in gold oil for that price. Also, the waitress was overworked and therefore came off as short and rude to us.

Karen took great care of us on our first visit to the Harlan Cafe. My husband, daughter, and I all got breakfast and loved it. This photo was all I thought to get because when the food came out (very quickly I might add) we were scarfing it down with no thought of a photo. You can take it from me that it was delicious, or better yet- you can come try it for yourself!

3 waitress to keep up with rush hr. Rib basket was cold and nasty, and couldn't get a second cup of coffee until half hour after I asked and right before the check.The table they sat us at was dirty from last people before us.

This place was amazing. Everything was clean and recently renovated it seems. We were seated right away and had very quick service. After we ordered, our food was made within 10/15 minutes and came out hot and delicious. Very awesome small town diner. We were just passing through but would definitely recommend. If we ever pass through again, we'll stop. We had breakfast but they do serve lunch as well and have specials throughout the week.

I think they need better cooks. No flavor in the mashed potatoes. Lots of pies. They have a good thing going but it needs flavor.Wheelchair accessibility: The ramp going into the front door is very steep. You need two people to get in the door.

Harlan Cafe has an excellent BLT that comes with 6 slices of deep fried bacon. I highly recommend it. The BLT is served with chips and a dill pickle slice. It's the best BLT in the area. The waitresses and other staff are really nice.Parking: There is plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu.
