At check in, the woman on duty was less then friendly, seemed bothered that she had to stop looking at her tablet to check us in. Our site was next to the office and outdoor wood stove and there was wood spread out on to our camp site. The water had a foul odor that nearly makes you sick to smell. It was very quiet, lots of guests but very few were out of their campers for the two nights we stayed.

Due to the abundance of positive reviews, I decided to book this campsite for my girlfriend and me and it was extremely disappointing. The positive reviews must be from people with RVs because I cannot see anyone who goes tent camping here having a positive experience. Our tent site was clearly an afterthought. A tiny spot pushed up against an RV with no picnic table or designated spot for our car. It was neither quiet nor secluded as advertised. It is right next to a very busy highway and the other residents stay up late, talking loudly (I don’t mind the talking, it’s nice to hear people having a good time, but it’s not quiet. People next to us were up past 2:30am and I could hear their full conversation.) and riding their golf carts around. The bathrooms were disgusting, everything was rusty and I came out of the shower smelling like rust/iron. All 3 of the women’s toilets were dirty and one had feces on the seat. Not that this is the campground’s fault, but it is clear that accommodations for tent campers are not a priority. We only stayed for a night and could not leave fast enough. Extremely overpriced for a campsite that is this dirty and unpleasant. They also charged us 50 for a tent site when the listed rate online is 35 so beware of that. Definitely would never come back here.

Edit: No longer Veteran owned.....New owners dont do activities, nothing that was advertised during our stay actually happened. Disappointed. It used to be fun.Getting ready to pack up from our 4th stay at this very friendly campground! Always a good time! Considering a seasonal site next year! Curt and Cori make you feel like family when you stay here ! Thanks for the fun! See you in the spring!

This place has good bones. I am told that it is under new management now, for the last 3 months. From outward appearance, it may be an absentee owner, but I think not.The camp streets are overhung with low branches. The main/only west-facing street directional advertising sign is not visible from eastbound 30. Within the campground, the directional signage pointing a first-time visitor to the office is nearly unreadable. Once registered for our campsite, I needed to leave the campground, go aways down the road, and turn around, then reenter before I could be on the correct camp road to get to our campsite. These issues are all fixable and would have been the first by me if I were the new owner.Rooms: This is a campground, not a hotel, so no rooms.Walkability: Easy roads to walk along. Nice pond to walk around.

If you're not having fun here, you might just be dead.Best campground get togethers we've ever been to.Beautiful lake and open field, playground and basketball court, a live band and an incredible fireworks show that was ranked up there with some of the big cities we've been to.It's owned by a couple of pretty laid back marines who have turned it into just a cool place to hang out.

It is beyond me how this place has a 4.6 rating. When we stayed there it had rained and the miniscule patio side space we had was flooded. The pool was green, none of the advertised arcade games worked, the sites were tiny, even for the other family members that met us there in their pop up camper. We paid for 2 nights and left after one. All the positive reviews must have been left by the seasonal campers that stay there.

It’s named “Last Resort” cuz this place is your last resort to camp. Terrible place. They stuck us in a tiny spot between huge campers on a slope with yappy barking dogs when there were numerous other lots open that would have been better. No such thing as free WiFi. Doesn’t even detect name.Loud noises all the time.

By far, one of the best campgrounds we’ve been to. Yes, it’s small, yes, there are a lot seasonal peeps, but they all were so friendly! The owners Cori and Kurt were awesome too and I love them just because they believe in rescuing dogs instead of shopping!!! We got drink free beer with chickens on a Saturday night and watch a movie. It was a great time! Very clean. Kid friendly, great service, friendly staff, fishing pond, pool and the best part was the dump station!!! They supply the hose so you don’t have to lug yours out!!!

Good location right off of 30. Easy to get to and the park seemed pretty clean. I only stayed for one night. The showers were clean as well.

I have been to a few campgrounds looking for things my kids can do.... we had finally found it Last Resort campground is amazing! In the weekend stay we had there were hosted activities for the kids to do tie dye shirts, a wide open park for the kids to run around in, volleyball as a family. The owners were amazing, they definitely know how to keep their guests happy. Most weekends they have a parade of golf carts throwing candy and making everyone feel like family. He didn’t know our group from any random person and we felt like he was a distant family member we hadn’t seen in years. He even offered a movie projector for the kids to watch on Saturday night and joined along with his kids. If we didn’t live so far away this would definitely be an every weekend stay. Huge props to the owners of Last Resort Campground we can’t wait until we stay at your campground again! Until next time.

Stay here was a really great! Called a little late into the evening needing a place to stay while passing through and thankfully Cori picked up and told us to come on down. Drive in was easy, signs were clear. Cori told us what site to use beforehand so we didn’t have to drive around and find a spot. Campground is spacious. They have nice clean bathrooms with hot water—3 toilet stalls, 3 shower stalls (with body wash provided) and 4 or 5 sinks with good counter space. The men’s restroom is being updated but I assume it will have the same set up. They had a really nice laundry room and a store/front office space that was really nicely decorated and seems newly renovated. Curt check us in in the morning since we came in late and was super friendly and engaging. Dog friendly campground with lots of space to walk your dogs. Campground was quiet since it was winter but they seem to have lots of events going on all year. Wish we could’ve stayed for some! Stay was a nice little break from our travels and Cori and Curt were great hosts! Next time we are in the area we know exactly where to stay.

My family loves this place. My mother stays here and if we didn't have to move out of state then the kids and I would be there all the time with her! Fun place with a great little community within it. We have amazing memories of last summer and the kids still talk about how much fun it was. Is not as noisy as some Karens would say. Yes people like to stay up a littler later on the weekends and enjoy outside but can't blame them for that. The only trash around was by the dumpster but it's a big site and to be expected.

We originally booked for one night. We arrived and set up with no problems. We were traveling with another RVer who was experiencing mechanical issues. They ended up needing to go to a shop, so we extended our stay for 2 more nights. The owner was so wonderful to work with. He was very accommodating and helpful. We enjoyed our time in the Campground and surrounding area, and a big bonus for us was the wonderful dog park on property. Our dog just loved going there to run free! Also, even though it is not listed on their amenities they do have a laundry room. We needed it badly since we had to change our plans twice. So glad they had it! When the repairs were finished we all got ready to go, made it only a short distance and they suffered another issue. We called back to the Campground and he said to come on back. He found us a spot through the weekend. The RV went back to the shop and we went on to our next destination without it, with plans to return when the work is completed. We will definitely stay here again. I cannot recommend this Campground more highly. They are working hard on all aspects of their business and their hospitality shines through!

Enjoyed our weekend here. After traveling over 3 hours it was a relief to have such an easy check in. I was so happy to find such a clean, well kept campground. I literally spent days searching and reading reviews and had been growing more disappointed with each review I had read. I finally stumbled across the Last Resort. You had 2 sites left and I booked as fast as I could. I was so thankful for clean, hot showers after fishing all day. I can't say enough about how well maintained your park is. We will definitely be back each time we get the notion to travel north for a weekend of fishing.

LOOK NO FURTHER BOOK YOUR STAY HERE NOW!!! The people here are awesome it’s veteran owned and operated. They gave us a 10% discount, free fire wood, someone left a really nice tent at our site that they said we could use which is nice because it’s already raining a little bit, and to top it all off the lady that runs the campground came and gave us dinner! Beef stew with bread and butter. Awesome end to the day. The campground is really well maintained, very clean facilities, probably the best camping showers I have ever been to. Everyone here is super friendly and the owners and camp caretakers are awesome! 10/10 would recommend staying here

We arrived here October 24th 2020 we had noticed it was very well kept and clean. No over hanging branches to rub on . We checked in and was greeted by the owner curt and were laughing as soon as we meet him . He gave us a site and a little bit later he came to check on us and made sure we were good and settled in . Asked if we needed anything. By dark there was a trick or treat with a golf cart parade with a haunted house. We went to all it was a great night. So come to find out they had 3 weekends of Halloween 🎃. They do a ton of things with the kids . Pool, swimming, volleyball, basketball 🏀, fishing, crafts etc. For being a small campground they truly make up for it.they also do things with adults as well.Curt and his lovely wife and crew are truly awesome amazing people. If you need help it will happen if you ask. If you want to feel like family this is the place without a doubt 💯. So the few days on November while we were here they friendsgiving."pot luck " dinner with a birthday party for his wife corrie wich is just a lovely lady. It was great time and couldn't ask for a better campground host. We will be back soon and possibly stay for the summer. If you don't have fun here well I don't know what to say. We have a class a 40 ' coach was able to get around easy. No concrete pads but level I don't care about the concrete pads so ...... they have room for class a . They will not put you in a tight place. Curt will help you if you need it again just ask it will happen. This place will truly make you feel at home and like family. They also have great coffee clean showers, restrooms, laundry room. Call in advance this place was almost full every weekend while we were here. So a great big thank you for the hospitality for woundful place. See you soon curt corrie and crew from the fiegle's. Update as of 6 12 23.The owners curt and cori sold the campground. The new owners rude untruthful and are running it into the ground . We left for the reasons of nasty owners " dot heads" doing shady business mean raised the prices as of next year there won't be any full time camping or seasonal they lie and can't get there story's right.

First time here, and we came just to sleep during a cross country roadtrip. Our campsite was 30 ft from a major hwy, with semis going by every few minutes, super sucked trying to fall, and STAY asleep. No picnic table at our site. Bathroom was kinda gross, water tastes and smells rusty, floor was super gross, but also it was a Saturday night.Paid 40$ to sleep, but that hwy man, no fun.Inaddition, the owner has some political statement memes on their website. Id take a look, I would have booked elsewhere if I had seen it earlier, did not exactly make me feel safe.Receptionist was super sweet though.Really was a last resort campground.

This is a nice, clean campground just off Rt 30 near Hanna, IN. We stayed just for one night on 10/14/2020 while passing through the area. Two years ago it was bought by a married couple, both former Marines, and they live close by with their kids. Campsites were good size, host was very personable and friendly. Didn't visit the restrooms so can't comment on that. Pool looked nice, but was closed for the season. No cable, but we were able to get quite a lot of over the air TV channels. Didn't try for wifi, but looked like it was available. The hosts have a barn that is currently set up as a haunted house that they said will be open every weekend in October. The only reason it is getting 4 and not 5 stars is the highway noise. It wasn't obnoxiously loud, but was definitely something you could hear. If it was warmer we probably would have just run the fan all night for white noise. However, the highway noise would definitely not deter us from staying here again. Forgot to take pictures until we were pulled out, but did get one. :)

There's not enough that can be said about this little gem in NW Indiana. The seasonal campers are always friendly, the atmosphere is always relaxing, and the owners are top notch. Curt & Cory are certainly the most down to earth couple you'll ever find running a campground. They've always got something planned for the weekends that'll be fun for all ages. From the moment you pull into the campground they do everything to make you feel welcome and treat you like a friend. We found this campground by accident and will always come back to visit our second home.

This was my second stay. I enjoy my stay there. The staff at the campground are great. They interact with the campers. They have a golf cart parade on Saturday nights, movie night. Fishing is catch and release. No biggie to me. Stop in for s stay . You'll enjoy.

Great place to stay! It's owned by two veterans, a husband and wife. They did a great job having fun events for everyone, fishing, kayaks, paddle boats, outdoor movie nights, games in the store, Black Rife coffee and more! Had a really fun time with the family!

This little campground is clean and the staff is so friendly. This was our first day camping in our new travel trailer. When visiting here you are about 40 min from the shores Lake Michigan. It is very quiet.

Rundown place. Needs updating and cleaning, from the campsites to the bathrooms. There were bits of trash everywhere. Noisy being next to a major highway. We stayed 2 nights in order to visit IN Dunes natl park; wouldn’t return here. It’s hard to believe people think this is a great place to stay.

Great stay during the July 4th week. This place has many amenities and activities for the entire family. Forgot your fishing pole to fish in the catch and release pond? I’m sure they will loan you one. There are acres to walk around on’ a lake/pond with paddle boats, and other small water crafts to use, a pool, and a clubhouse with games. The fireworks were second to none and really were a great display. The location allows you to have some time away from the hustle a bustle but also easily access grocery stores, restaurants, and the big Windy City- Chicago. The campsites are well- maintained and spacious. We will stay here again!!!!!
