Nice selection of fish. Clean tanks. Crowded with stuff. Decent prices. Wish owner was a little more understanding and considerate of new customers needs that have traveled long distance just to visit his pet store and make exceptions to accommodate them better. I wasn't asking for very much of him at all, felt kind of put off by his actions and lack of caring. Would've been a 5 star if he had been kind and considerate instead of rude. Hope he treats other people with handicapped disabilities better. Fish I got are still very nice.

I have fond memories of the Terry's Aquarium in Lansing growing up, and the Hammond location brings back all the feels. They are extremely knowledgeable about anything aquarium-related you could possibly need to know, and have never steered me wrong. You can tell the staff really cares about all their critters and are always happy to help - and I'm happy to continue supporting this small business over the big pet chains!

What a huge disappointment!Went with the hope of buying a new tank and left empty handed. There is not very much to choose from. The Web page is a huge disappointment. there is only 3 salt water tanks to choose from and it's not a huge selection of fish. The dog faced puffer was dead in the corner of 1 of the tanks. No I repeat No Corals!I must say that the staff is friendly and Mike was willing to say that I should go to the Arc pet store.

I’ve gone there for all my fish and they have never failed to have what I need do to there wide selection of fish and they know lots of information which is very helpful. Keep up the great work guys👍

Decent selection of fish, salt or fresh water and they have some birds, mice, and rats for sale also. They do sell frozen pinky mice and rats as well oh yeah and they sell worms like for fishing bait or reptile food

Best place to get your new pet, tones of fish. I recommend a betta fish, they also have the most adorable Rats from tiny to big. Birds and snakes. Cool place!

A little high priced, but definitely worth it for the excellent knowledge and customer service skills. The enclosures as well as the tanks are all very well taken care of. I got my African clawed frog from here. She's a beautiful porker. Haha

Shady. Stay Away. Because of the weather it took me 40-45 minutes to drive home. 1 of my fish didn't make it. I called and Mya told me that the fish shouldn't have been in a bag more than 15-20 minutes. That's bull. I've been buying fish for almost 20 years. You need to float the bag for 15-20 minutes to acclimate the fish. So, unless you're tank is in your car, don't bother with this shop. Edit: Still in the bag, one of the "survivors" had a cloudy eye and deformed mouth. Another has a deformed mouth. Unfortunately, I'm gonna have to flush them. I'm not risking them in my tank.

Prices seemed kind of high but not ridiculous. The older gentleman seems to know his stuff. I try to wait till he's available. If he's busy, I don't bother. It's a small place but clean and well organized. They have a decent selection of fish and aquarium supplies. They have small critter stuff, too.

I love coming to this pet store. All of the employees are very helpful/insightful. They do everything from testing your water to making sure you're getting fish that cohabitates together. The prices for the fish aren't that bad either.

Great place to go they have a nice selection of fish, birds, snakes, and other mammals also they occasionally have cats I don’t know about dogs though. I bought a dwarf pike from there and my friend got a pike cichlid both are doing really well. I buy my feeder fish there too, the staff is also nice and helpful. And another thing to add to that is that I am 14new to the hobby of keeping fish and once again they have been very helpful getting me on the right track!!

Very knowledgable professionals here. Best local aquarium! Variety of options here to pick from. They have many reptiles, plenty of different fish, exotic birds, plus more. Start small or go big with many different choices of habitat equipment for your new pet.

A great family business. Opened in 1969. I visited this pet store as a young child. Felt very comfortable and safe. Would come and go. Nice variety of pets ranging from kittens,birds,hamsters,guinea pigs,all types of fish, Chameleons,turtles, snakes ect. I've visited my favorite family neighborhood store again recently with my children. They were both amazed and did not want to leave. The aquarium area is dimly lit for effect. Children felt calm, safe and happy to be there. Make sure if you are bringing your children to use bathroom before going in. No public restroom. There's a Dunkin Donuts and walgreens right next to Terry's Aquarium. Stop in and you'll see what I mean.

I was just at Terrys, its a quant fish store with a great selection. However I wanted to know what the different readings were on oh a ph strip, and the girl was rude and condescending. She told me I had to bring in a water sample then she would tell me. I wasn’t looking to buy fish as my tank just cycled. Which I clearly told her. I was just looking for info. She was more pleasant to the gecko babies than she was to me. Rudeness in an are where one should be willing to share is a real turn off.

Terrys is the best local pet shop in the area. I’ve never had a problem with any fish or reptiles I’ve purchased from here. There were times when I got bored with a fish or reptile. And if they had the space, they took it back without a hassle. Rather than me having to discard them or hopefully rehoming them. They’re also very knowledgeable of what they sale. And if you’re into marine fish, they always have a nice selection. I’ve seen stingrays and even seahorse in there beforeThe bigger chain pet stores, can’t say the same. I’ve had fish or reptiles die on me within the 14 day return policy or exactly after.
