A shopping trip to Cabela's in Hammond. Always a good spot for your sporting needs on the Christmas list. I love to watch the fish tank, and they had Santa pictures available. I was surprised how empty it was though, for a week before Christmas. I was a little disappointed that they were out of roasted pecans, but I settled for the almonds! They sure make the store smell amazing.

I love this store! I can get lost in here for hours. They have a great selection of clothes that are super cute even if you’re not really into the outdoors! I always look forward to just walking around here.

This place is so much funny to buy clothes for loved ones. They have good selection of boots to. There are a lot of really funny workers to, fun to talk to. It's fun to look at there selection of guns also

Cool place to check out the huge mountain with tons of animals (taxidermy) but amazing amount and different types. Had some great priced guns too. Check out the special gun room.

Used to enjoy coming here to look at and purchase firearms, however over the past years Bass Pro has completely ruined that experience by taking away policies that made Cabelas great. Not to mention managements genius idea to fire all of the great gun counter employees they had, including their most recent decision of firing Will, who in my opinion is one hell of an employee. Might as well just stick to selling fishing equipment if you want to keep firing all of your gun counter employees.

Called and waited on the phone with customer service for 20 minutes for them to tell me the Easter bunny starts at 9am. Went all the way to Cabela’s and was then told it doesn’t start until 11, what a waste of time looks like my kids won’t get to see the bunny this year.

It's absolutely ridiculous. I bought a few boxes of 9mm ammo once I got home find 2 of them 45 which is not for my gun but was were is the 9mm. They refused to refund or exchange. Be aware when you pick your ammo when they are low in stocks they mix them up to sell.

This Cabela's is pretty awesome! They have a ton of displays our closer Cabela's don't have. We also played their shooting game which was fun! We will definitely stop by again when we are up that way. Very great Cabela's! Definitely worth a stop in!P.S. I took a lot more pictures but I went with a random 30. I couldn't tell which I was selecting very well from the little pictures and I wasn't sure how many I could actually include so I just picked randomly here and there lol! Definitely stop in to enjoy the greatness! 🙂

I went to purchase a firearm and my outfitter was Tim. I cannot express how enjoyable my experience with Tim was. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I will ALWAYS ask for Tim when I come back to Cabelas!!!

Great inventory and my little one loved their display of animals, fish, boats, ATVs and everything else!!! Take your kid there, they will not wanna leave!!! Haha. But if you need any sporting goods or fishing or hunting stuff, deff a place to visit!!!!!!!!

AMAZING PLACE! I had been to Bass Pro Shop before, but I never even heard of Cabellas! We passed it while driving to Walmart and I pointed it, I had thought it was a restaurant because in Valpo (the town I used to live in) had a restaurant named Cabelas. But my husband told me I was wrong lmao. And we took a detour and went in side before going shopping.So glad we did the store is beautiful! So much display, and things to see! My 2yr old daughter was in awe. They have a waterfall with tons of wild animals in display as a wildlife nature scene. Just flat beautiful.The store is pricey, obviously. But the products are top quality. They even have kid toys and clothes! But my husband and I recommend this store for all your hunting, and wildlife needs!!😊😊 plus! Your kids wont mind being stuck inside there with you! They even have a shooting range for kids.

The Santa looked like he sleeps out side in the suite. Did not put on the ho ho ho act at all. The guy shooting the picture, paid no attention to everyone in photo, so it had people not ready.my family won't be back for Christmas pics. The people working there act like there burnt out. Most of them could not be more useless. Your restaurant no longer exists. You no longer carry arrows or accessories for a air javelin that was purchased there. I will be sure not to return to your store ever again.

I have been coming here for years for my daughter to see Santa. I have never had a problem until tonight. I booked a reservation for my daughter and her best friend to see Santa. They each got to take a picture and then took a picture together. The staff was really rude and told me that they are only doing 1 free picture. I explained that online it won’t let you do multiple reservations so that’s why I had to do only 1 for them. Had to go to customer service and waited for Daun to come and help me. Trying to explain to her about the problem and it’s like talking to a brick. Finally after 20 minutes I got the picture of them together. I will no longer taking my kid back her. Santa was wonderful but the staff was horrible.

I came to this location because the one I usually frequent was out of stock of the ammunition I frequently use, attempting to ask a staff member questions if it was in stock they were dismissive and rude and simply followed me around side eyeing me rather help. I was halfway to the gun counter when I asked if I make my purchase there or downstairs one of the employees behind the gun counter shouted "downstairs!" rudely in front of other staff members behind the counter who even looked appalled at his behavior as well in front of present customers creating a scene then proceeded to yell "what state are you from?!!" then barked off what was required for Indiana and Illinois resident purchases. That man is severely unhinged and was being hostile and aggressive for no reason. I suggest EVERYONE stays away from the gun counter.

The guy at the guy counter didn’t care at all… I drove 2 hours and the guy acted like I wasn’t even there. I was ready to buy. I won’t be making that mistake again!The store looked cool, but who cares? I was there to buy something from a helpful person.

Most items are overpriced. I know its a retail store but one click and you can find big purchase items 20 to 25 percent cheaper on net. Hate places that dont have in stock but can get you in couple weeks plus delivery. Go to net and be at house cheaper. Cabelas has gone down hill since Bass pro bought them.

Everytime we shop here my family has a great experience. They often have fun kids crafts and activities on the second floor and a great shooting arcade tucked away upstairs.The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly and there are exceptional deals to be found all over the store.Try their fudge it’s sooo delicious It’s priced high but has deals once in awhile. Highly recommended A+++ We will be back!!!!!

It's always nice to look around and sometimes impulse buys! Went to look at guns, and it was ropped off!? I have no idea why, but it was a long wait. I'm assuming they're short-handed. Anyways, nice place to go to kill some time.

Waited around for 20 min with boots that didn’t fit because no one wanted to help me. I guess I look like a clown with nothing better to do than stand in the footwear section of a retail store. Thank you kindly for the waste of time and for checking on people looking at socks rather than sell a $300 pair of boots. never again coming back to this joke of a store
