I went to the greencastle Indiana dollar store on Jackson st bought some doughnuts for 2.60$ got home and realized they expired on 5/12/22 and it is 8/20/22 they stunk and we're hard as rocks rotten how could you leave rotten food on your shelves and sell it to customers don't you people do inventory check dates throw out the garbage guess's not if I could I'd give you negative -5 stars just for this one mistake I ate one of those disgusting things before I realized and if I die of food poisoning or some kind of toxic food radiation I would take them back and demand a refund and throw a big fit in your store but I'm out of gas should have used the 3$ for more gas instead of rotten stinky doughnuts.

As a former employee of Dollar General I can say that they do not care about anything but the money. The store itself suffers from many things. Theft is rampant because they refuse to spend money on security cameras and equipment. It's filthy because most of the employees are too lazy to clean and the company won't fire anyone because of the ridiculous way they handle writeups. Customers are not treated properly on a frequent basis. I wouldn't suggest shopping at this particular location to most people.

Seems that only a few people actually work. Seen a cashier sitting down behind the register once. Assistant Manager is always the one I see working. He is really nice and helpful he is the one with the long beard. I will only go in when he is there other wise it's an unpleasant visit.

I think it really depends on who the manager is that week. They have had massive turnover at the Northside store. The shelves are often empty and the store is almost always in some form of disarray. There has been a balloon wrapped around the ceiling fan by the register for over a month. The noise is maddening. But, they're still handy for us on the northwest side who don't want to drive to Kroger for 1 or 2 things.

Sign reads, "Facemask required." The only employee I encounter behind the counter doesn't have a facemask and doesn't take any precautions concerning the safety of the customers. Ignorance of the threat has gotten a lot of people sick at the White House including the president, so... Ignoring the threat won't make those around you safe. If you are high risk for Covid, avoid this store. Obviously they don't care.

The place was dirty and not much room for me with my wheelchair to get around had to turn around in almost all the aisles. Then go to leave and the cashier checking me out was yelling at the top of her lungs for someone very rude I must say.

Like most Dollar Generals the place is a mess and there's only ever one cashier to checkout a line of people so expect to spend longer standing in line than actual shopping. The people are friendly and nearly everything is always in stock.

Ive been coming here for years since i live close by, my experiences have always been great and it even lead me to start working here, from a customer stand point it is agood small store, and as a worker everyone is nice. Dont be afraid to ask for help, our store is a bit odd to navigate.

Theres 1 cashier that thinks it's ok to talk about customers to other customers I will no longer be going here if she is still employed the worse experience I have ever had! several times ive been in there with her working and shes done it everytime with everyone

Place coukd really use a remodel or update. Just seems dirty. Waiting a LONG time in a long line just to have cashier complain he didnt get to finish his smoke break whike talking to customers he knew.

I love that I can get in, get out and get what I need without the hassle! They usually have better prices, comparable sizes and quantities and none of the hassle of the big box stores!
