My first visit ever for this small town grocery store. I was expecting a really small small town grocery but once inside this place is much bigger than appearances. Looking at their signs posted in the windows and door for hours of operation, I was sure this was going to be another struggling american market. But I found a very clean establishment, bustling with stock persons. At least one worker in the bakery and a cashier. Everyone we encounter were super friendly. I only needed bacon and eggs. In the egg section I had to sort through several cartons to find one in the front that wasn't expired. Took a photo of one but the oldest was dated best by Apr 30th. The bacon wasn't much better. Most of the Smiths bacon had already begun to turn. Now I rarely give a bad review to any small business, mainly because I firmly believe in supportinv local small business', but this really needs to be brought to everyone's attention. I support small business whenever possible so I believe they can easily fix the their inventory procedure. Anyone who has followed me or seen any of my reviews of 3 or less stars knows I give everyone a second chance. If you visit this small business and have a less than favorable opinion perhaps you can also. Sull

They have items as any other store and value is good. I don't like the part where they say you are getting a bargain, then they add 10% more on the price at check out. Their prices are same as other stores in the area. But adding 10% more on everything is not a bargain. Their meat department is very good. This store has been sold to now Holiday Foods. 😢 I don't know if they will continue the 10% more over the stated cost.

Well I had to say I have to redo my review upon going to the deli here I find that to tater tots cost me almost $3 that's with tax you can buy a bag for a dollar fifty and they double charge you for two tater I will not be coming back to this place the prices are so outrageous that you can't even afford to feed your family it really doesn't matter how nice the people are in some places if you can't afford to come in so that being said I give it a thumbs down and I won't be coming back

Ok I used to love this place as a diamond in the rough but now it's just rough. The store smelled awful today and at checkout I noticed it was particularly bad....I looked above me and there was a big very dead mouse laying against the HVAC vent. I told the cashier and she looked at me like she couldn't really care any less. Doubt I'll ever go back.

Shopped for deli cookies. Noticed products not sealed. Only zip closure on one package and plastic container snapped close on another item. Both could easily be tampered with without taped seals. Also, no ingredient info or calorie info on either item.

Remodeling is overdue. I don't know what the health grade is.Prices are reasonable. Young people at the cash registers are always friendly.Beer selection is very limited. I prefer to shop at American owned businesses. I like the location of this store.

I stopped in to pick up something for dinner. I also picked up some coffee. I’m on snap benefits. It’s not something I’m happy about but, when your doctor takes you off work for health reasons, you do what you gotta do. When I paid I was told I still owed $7.00. I couldn’t understand why considering everything bought was groceries. The man made me remove all my groceries from their bags instead of looking on the cash register. That alone was embarrassing. He finally told me the coffee wasn’t covered and I would need to pay for it or put it back. I tried to explain to him that coffee is covered by snap but, he snappishly said, not here it isn’t. Do you want it or not, he said? I asked to speak with a manager because obviously the coffee was logged into their system wrong and he replied, I am the manager. I could tell by his attitude that he was unwilling to fix the issue so, I told him I didn’t want the coffee. I would get it somewhere else. Instead of him, the manager of the store taking the coffee from me, he yanks it aggressively out of my hand. It’s embarrassing to have to rely on snap benefits as it is without being treated like your less than human because you have snap benefits. Needless to say, I won’t be shopping there anymore and that’s shame because I’ve shopped there for years.

I think it’s a great store, they people who work there are usually teenagers and work so hard to please the customers. They are very efficient at helping people find what they are looking for they are always cleaning and the store has great hours. They close at different times or the year so that it makes things easier in the winter time for the teens to get home and not have to worry about not seeing the road. Especially in the winter time. They have an excellent meat selection that is freshly cut. They are a small store so the produce is wonderful because so many people come in they have to make orders almost every week to stay in stock. Nothing ever goes bad. The deli are so friendly and work with you. I understand that there are a few cashiers that eat every now and then when checking out customers. But they are probably there for a while and don’t get a break. I feel that not everyone understands that the kids in there come from school and have nothing on there stomach. All around it’s a wonderful store.

My favorite grocery store ever. Every single employee in this store is very helpful to each and every customer that has every walked in the door. There is nothing, but complete respect from each and every employee. It brings you to a great mood and keeps money in your pockets. If you want to save a lot of money for good quality, as well as customer service, this is the place for you! P.S. The meat sales are the best around period!!!

Pleasant little surprise. It is not fancy like Kroger's but has a home town feel. Very good prices with name brand and generic variates. Meat is very well priced. This is the best place to buy steaks. They will cut to size on request. Best watermelon we have ever bought came from here. Good selections of wine with great prices. Stop in and buy some steaks for the grill.

Staff are always friendly here. Prices are super reasonable. I come here because they have a great local wine selection. Lots of Indiana wines, even Simmons winery, all at a great price. They occasionally have really great meat sales as well.

We drive from 30 minutes away to this store to get their fried chicken out of the deli. It is one of the only reasons why we go there. The last two times I have bought fried Chicken there it tasted like it was fried in old grease and the pieces were the size of cornish hens very small. Their chicken is not cheap but it is worth the drive. But after getting stung twice with chicken fried and old grease and the pieces basically the size of pigeons I don't think we'll be back.

Every time I visit I get sick because something is expired. By months even. Don't go here and if you do check everything for mold or expiration because this is ridiculous.Edit: A few months later, just as bad. DONT GO HERE

I'm going neutral here because I really don't know the prices in Indiana.The store was very clean with nice, wide aisles. They had a pretty good selection of shelf goods but I think their meat is what brings people in.Their pricing is very much like Sav-a-lot at 5 for $17.59 so I suspect they are connected.The cashier was very friendly and the deli server, Dale was exceptional!

One weird thing is they add 10% at the register. So the price marked on the shelf is not the price you pay. Some stuff is high but some stuff is cheap. They had 18 cent loafs of white bread at one time. Love the pick 5 for 17.99 deal. Lots of meats and frozen foods to choose from. Staff is friendly and they have a real live butcher! WOW!

I would recommend this place for a quick shopping trip. They add 10% to your total after taxes are applied. That goes to show you that it is really not a reasonable place to do large shopping trips. The store itself is not very clean and the stock usually has dust on the top of the items. You can however get a great price on milk if you catch it at the right time.

I usually like shopping there. However, today I got some deli food, and it was much more expensive than usual. I got 1 chicken thigh and 4 potato wedges, and it ended up being $6.99.

Great little grocery store in the heart of Edwardsville. Despite not having the size of larger grocery chains, this place has a wide enough selection that you'll be able to find just about anything you'll need whether you're cooking up a whole meal at home or buying your favorite snack foods! A decent selection of wines and beers as well.

Good small town grocery for quick trips and less crowds. Decent beer and wine selection conveniently located in the front of the store. Staff never seems to be happy. They seem stressed and overworked. I rarely get a smile or a "thank you" anymore. Sometimes the lines can get backed up. It seems that it was a much happier place when it was "Thriftway" and under different managers.

Good place to shop for what you need quickly, but my only complaint is the girl who was working the register was eating some kind of pasta salad right there on the job in front of customers. 1) that's kinda gross 2) it's rude. Other than that, good grocery store.

Parked at the marathon next door for my 10 and came over here for some groceries for the next few weeks, great little shopping center, everyone was so nice even the people shopping so friendly. We tried the deli with some salads and fried chicken, so good, so much better then walmart 👍👍👍

Sign says deli closes at 6pm but go to get sliced lunch meat at 5:50pm and they can't because the deli closes at 6pm! Guy says no we have to be out of here by 6, if that's the case fine but change your sign to say that instead!
