This is a wonderful place for dogs to spend the day or board overnight. The kennel is located in a beautiful rural area with lots of greenery. The dogs enjoy indoor/outdoor areas with the option of having play times. The owner, Vicki (who is a certified dog trainer), truly cares about the well-being of each pet that stays at the facility. Not only that, but as a past employee, I can say that she truly cares about each and every one of her employees as well. I have learned a tremendous amount from Vicki, and like many others, continue to reach out to her for advice. I highly recommend Golden Post Kennel because they are knowledgeable, professional and caring. ~ In the picture my dog, Garm, is playing with friends at Golden Post during his play time.

I’m always willing to give grace but I am very dissatisfied with my experience at golden post kennel. I was recommended by a friend that talked very highly of it, so I figured we would give it a try. Our dog was there for 13 days and I’m sick over how he returned. He did not look like the same dog when we picked him up and he was not running with excitement to us like he usually does. He was frantic and keeping his head very low to the ground. He was drenched and extremely dirty, and his face and neck were brown (he’s a white dog mind you). I understand he could have been outside and rained on and had gotten dirty, that was the least of my concerns. He got a bath and the next morning I noticed his heck was bleeding pretty badly. I immediately took him to the vet and was told he had a hot spot that can be caused by stress and allergies which should not have been an issue had be been given the food I left for him. He lost 12 pounds in 13 days while he was there. I had left 3 days of extra food and treats and when we picked him up the food and treats were gone. So if he had been given the proper amount of food and extra he should have not lost that amount of weight. He is a healthy dog with very little health issues and after paying $380 for boarding a $200 vet bill should not have followed his stay. I would absolutely not recommend golden post according to our experience and he will not be back.

I have been using the Golden Post Kennel for more than 20 years now, with a variety of different pets. This place is awesome! The owner/manager, runs a top rate kennel, does pet rescue, and pet training. All of her staff have had pet behavior training. I am always confident that my pets are going to be safe, happy, and well cared for when I drop them off at the Golden Post. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Golden Post. You won’t be disappointed!

I would highly recommend Golden Post for any boarding or daycare needs! My two dogs have been going to Golden Post on a weekly basis, for daycare, the past 3 years. The staff is very attentive and I feel good knowing that I am leaving my two pups in the hands of people who care about them as much as I do! Same goes for the times I have to board them too! I appreciate all that they do to care for my pups.

It seemed like the kennels were to small for the dogs and very stressful on them with the noise level. The do have trap doors in the kennel so the dogs cld get out but if you have a bigger dog good luck… Also I told them my dog gets fed twice a day and the amount to give him… I knew how much food I left with him wld run out in three days. I called on the third day to see if I cld bring him more food and they said he had plenty left. I went the very next day to pick him up and he literally had more than half his food still in the container. It shldve been gone. I’m sure he had some anxiety while being there and lost his appetite some but he eats like a horse,he’s a 8 month 94lbs American Bully. He wldve ate more than that for sure regardless.

We have been using Golden Post Kennel for daycare and boarding for the past 18 years. We’ve taken both dogs and cats there, and have had only excellent experiences with the staff and the kennel owner. Our dogs are always happy to go inside, the staff greets them by name and it’s obvious they are treated well there. The kennel owner is extremely knowledgeable about animal behavior and care, and always helpful when any questions arise. Their training program through Bright Hope is also excellent. We have used it for several of our dogs as well as for foster dogs.We will always recommend Golden Post to family and friends for boarding and daycare of their furry family members!

We have boarded with Golden Post Kennel for 15+ years and can say sincerely that they treat our pets like their own. They are loving to our dogs and cats and provide the kind of care that lets us go out of town and not worry at all about our pets' well being. Best of all is that we see many of the same employee faces today that we saw 15 years ago - we love that they have employee longevity at Golden Post because it means the employees know and understand our pets, especially our older dog and his special geriatric needs. The owner of Golden Post has always been professional and good to us and to her employees and she's been especially good to the animals in her care.

I have used Golden Post Kennel for over 20 years, through 3 dogs so far.I am very happy with the staff and kennel run each dog has.My dog is excited to go into the admissions office, which I take as a good sign.Last trip I had the dog groomed and his fur was so soft and almost totally shed free. He is a great Dane and sheds 24-7 it seems.He will be going back for another week, next week.I recommend this business to family and friends. My MIL put her dog there and she lives on the north side of indy.Update 11/21/20While I no longer have a dog, I still take my sons dog to this kennel whenever I have to dogsit more than 3 days. I find Golden Post employees to be friendly and professional.My son's dog is a 140lb great Dane that is always eager to go inside when I drop him off. He pulls me in, not away from the waiting area.If things were terrible there, a dog would try to pull away from the door. This is why I recommend them for kenneling.

Golden Post is by far, the very best kennel I have ever used. We have boarded our 4 dogs here several times over the last three years, and cannot be happier with them. The staff is extremely friendly and professional, and you can just tell they genuinely care about your pets. They make drop off and pick up so easy, and pricing is good. A few of my dogs don't get along with each other and can be a bit of a handful (to say the least), I never worry one bit when I leave them in Golden Post's capable hands. I would rate them 10 stars if I could!

I have boarded my cats with Golden Post many times, and have been very satisfied. All the staff is friendly, and clearly cares about their fur guests! One of my cats is in declining health, and Golden Post gives her extraordinary care - being flexible with her needs and watching carefully over her. They have always made sure both of my cats were near each other and had time to play together. I can't imagine going anywhere else! thank you!!

I haven been boarding my dogs at Golden Post for 9 years. It is a wonderful facility with great, attentive employees. Vicki is tremendous with dogs and provides wonderful, humane training classes using the clicker (positive reinforcement) method. She treats all people and animals with the utmost respect. I currently have a large breed rescued dog who has issues. I would not trust her with any other kennel. Golden Post gets the highest marks from me.

I have volunteered at Golden Post Kennel on and off since 2005. I have used their boarding, daycare, and grooming service for nearly as long. The owner, Vicki, has become like family, and her and her staff have treated me and my pet family as such. Many of her staff are long time employees. They’ve sent pictures and videos whenever I’ve asked so I can see my pups playing with staff and the canine friends. Thank you GPK, you’ll always be my only choice.

This was the first time our Great Dane had been to a boarding place since we’ve had him and we chose golden post because they got back to us quickly, they have good reviews and reasonably priced. But I personally do not recommend. I called asking how my dog was before they had even closed and didn’t hear back for another 24 hours. The owner wanted to give him Benadryl to calm him down (which is ok) but didn’t ask if it was ok until 24 hours. If he was having problems you would think they would’ve gotten back sooner. Then she wants to blame his food for the reason he’s not eating? He was obviously not eating because he was upset and scared because the place is like an animal shelter and on top of it the kennels are NOT big enough for a Great Dane to lay down comfortably and we were told NOT to bring his bedding which he would’ve been more comfortable with. We had someone pick him up a few days early because of poor communication and we regretted leaving him at a place that looks and feels like an animal shelter. When he was picked up the owner told them his food is what they feed pigs? Excuse me? It absolutely is not and we even told her we make most of his dog food, but she obviously doesn’t listen because she wants us to buy the dog food she sells in the shelter she’s running. And we also found out they moved our dog to a SMALLER KENNEL, when the one he was supposed to be in and the one we paid for already seemed way to small.I absolutely do not recommend this nasty place. They are unresponsive and absolutely RUDE. pay a little extra and take your dog to Barkefellers. They get 3 playtimes, cuddle time, and bedtime tuck in and absolutely does NOT give that ‘animal shelter vibe’.

I am very happy with Golden Post. We've been taking our dog Mya there for 3 years now and the biggest "tellling" factors for me are 1....she never seems afraid to return 2...she's always happy to see us when we return but also seems to say "goodbye" to the workers and 3.... she's never come home sick or mad or upset. Nothing but good things to say about them. And the cost is reasonable.

Used their services for puppy daycare. Come to find out the dogs only play with each other for 3.5 hrs. Rest of the time they are in the kennel. We also picked up our dog soaking wet the second time we used them for puppy daycare (before finding out the lack of time the puppies play together). It was raining that day so he must’ve been kept outside. Because he was wet as can be.

The owner of this kennel has a horrific temper especially towards employees. Often screams at them, is abusive, rude, and has attacked employees before physically. Beware of boarding your dog here and ESPECIALLY working here.
