I was lured in by the promise of cheese on numerous billboards, and lo and behold, we found a lot of cheese here! The parking is plentiful and, on a rainy Thursday afternoon, the place wasn't packed. While I chatted with the nice woman at the cheese counter, who offered me numerous samples, my husband ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. By the time I bought some cheese, we just a couple minutes more to wait for the sandwich. We split it; I was surprised to see they use a bun, which is unusual but a great technique. The middle had lots of thick, gooey cheese, so it had a great pull. It ended up being a great snack to help us through a long day of driving.

Very cute place to eat! They have lots of options and homemade ice cream. The actual grounds have a lot of things to do. There is of course the paid agricultural tourism area that is very Cool to see you and they do a very Good job at putting educational events on that are agricultural focused. Good for a quick bite to eat as well!

Great experience, the people were absolutely fantastic, especially Jill, she took time to explain each cheese and the reason why it tasted like that. Not only that she recommended what flavor of ice cream to order, and was absolutely lovely to have a conversation with her.The grilled cheese sandwich was so tasty and the Cuban pork sandwich was amazing, the pork was so tender and well seasoned. Definitely a great experience.

Had a great milkshake while here. A butter peacan milkshake. Did not do any of the tours since its wonder and it's cold. Recommend this place if you are driving down i65 and want a quick snack, or need to use the bathrooms

There are times I work near Oak Farms, so I stop in often for breakfast or lunch. Very simple menu options for the morning meal and they serve Starbucks brewed coffee. Their Hot Sanwiches are "the bomb!" The Cowfé also offers a wide variety of cheeses, sauces, seasonings, jams, and preserves and a variety of their themed souvenirs. Indoor & outdoor seating for you mealtime experience.

The climbing wall and the birthing barn are two great attractions, but the COWfé is the real reason to stop. The food here is exceptional. I had the Cuban Pork sandwich, which is to die for as it was made to absolute perfection. The chocolate ice cream is amazingly rich and creamy, which was the perfect ending to a delicious meal. Stopping here is a must if you're looking to eat on the I-65 South.

Perfect little stop without spending a long time. They have sandwiches, ice cream, salads and merchandise. Our kids really enjoyed theireal. We did a quick stop; grabbing lunch as we continued on our road trip. We'll definitely remember this one!

It's the first time, eating at the cafe. The grilled cheese sandwich and chili were delicious. The ice cream has the best flavor, of anything, that I've tried. The employee's were also, quite nice and courteous.

This was delicious! A single scoop is a fairly generous size For about $4.25. For an additional $.75, you can get a second school which is perfect for my wife son and myself! Delicious ice cream very friendly five stars

We stop here on our way home from Merrillville. We stock up on chocolate milk and our favorite cheese.There's an ice cream section where they make ice cream sandwiches or you can enjoy a dish of ice cream.The cafe has several options for a meal. We grab a grill cheese meal to go and a kid meal. I know it's grilled cheese but it has a great taste and we enjoy sharing it.Lots of things to do in the summer. On this day we didn't do any of the out door activities.

Nice restaurant at Fair Oaks Farm. We got lunch here before playing. The had a few kids meal choices and sandwiches and salads for the regular menu. The sandwiches we're good. There is also an ice cream place, chocolate shop, and souvenirs in there. The kids loved the ice cream, but next time I would split an order between them, the helpings are very generous. There are high chairs and a diaper decks in the women's bathroom at least. They also had windows along the side so that you could watch the ice cream and yogurt being processed.

Awesome cheese sandwiches at a good price! I think they must use their own cheeses. I was a little hesitant to eat here as I thought it would be a bit of a let down but I was pleasantly surprised! Definitely try the Reuben sandwich, one of the better ones I have tried. while you eat you can watch some of what i believe is the cheese making machinery in the other room behind glass. Worth a stop here on your way to Chicago.

On a long road trip, the COWfé was an oasis. Needless to say, the theme is here dairy, so if you're into cheese OH BOY are you going to be psyched. They serve an assortment of sandwiches and other food items (again very cheese-centric). In retrospect I couldn't tell you what possessed me to order a Cuban sandwich in the middle of Indiana (aside from the fact that they're delicious), but it paid off. It was delicious and I regret nothing. There's also a huge dog park, so if you're traveling with your best friend you can stop for a sandwich and let the pup stretch the legs.

I absolutely love this place! I try to stop by every year when I make the trip to visit family in IL from KY. The grilled cheese is amazing, the chocolate milk is to die for, the ice cream is decadent. Great options for a quick lunch. Multiple windows show the inner working of things such a making the cheese curds or packaging the yogurt. It is fun to watch, especially for kids. The cheese selection is amazing, with their variety of aged cheddar being something I can't seem to find anywhere else. There is a nice gift shop and clean restrooms as well.

What a great little cafe. So glad that we stopped. They had fresh meat ice cream and sandwiches and amazing popcorn. Very clean inside many areas to sit also. You have not tried their chili with onions sour cream and cheese you are missing out. Absolutely delicious!

Pleasant, patient staff and good food. Definitely get a soup if you're getting a grilled cheese, though. It's really hard to make cheese and bread spectacular and have it done in two minutes. They keep the cookies and cream and chocolate ice cream are kept out of view in a different freezer, so if you want them just ask! The pumpkin milkshake I had was super yummy. Also, you can watch a mini factory and lab while you eat.

Loved our deluxe grilled cheese combo and double scoop of ice cream. Perfect for a road break and beautiful outside area to walk and enjoy. Maui onion kettle chips were a nice option!

Pretty darn good grilled cheese. They make them with 4 or 5 cheeses and cook them perfectly on a panini press. The Cuban sandwich was also delicious and exceeded my expectations.

Good food, ice cream, and some of the same items you can grab at the gas station and the Farmhouse. They have some seating if you want to sit and enjoy a sammie. Prices are pretty high (as they are across the whole farm), but it's worth it for the occasional treat.

Definitely a great place to stop for lunch if you're on the road. Lots of great grilled cheese options and the milkshakes are delicious. Try the cheese samples and you can get chocolates here now as well. It's also an interesting place to watch the yogurt and milk get packaged.

Great place to stop for a hot ham & cheese sandwich 🥪. To top off your lunch break they offer homemade ice cream. 🍦 At the back of the parking lot is a Tesla charging station with 12 chargers. If you have a battery car 🚙that is not a Tesla, you will need to keep driving. Only Tesla's welcomed here 🇺🇲

The best grilled cheese! We got the swiss and cheddar classic sandwiches and as always they were gooey and delicious! We topped it off with fresh and creamy ice cream. A great lunch! We go a few times a year and are never disappointed!
