Really fun bookstore. Nice selection of titles plus a corner of basic art supplies. Worth a visit. I'd have given it 5 stars but it's sadly inaccessible due to it being in a basement down a steep set of stairs. Which is a shame because it's otherwise a gem of a place.

Bluestocking Social is a gem in our town, one of only two independent bookshops. What’s more, they are the ONLY local seller of art supplies! It’s a small shop, but they’ve curated it well. The folks are super nice and always welcoming and helpful. There are drawing classes for anyone, no matter your skill level, periodic author talks, and always a small animal to pet while you shop. It’s absolutely worth checking out!

Bluestocking Social is the best! They’re so friendly and have a great selection of books and art supplies. Even if the book you’re wanting isn’t available in store, they can special order books and provide shipping options! And you may even get a doggy sighting of their resident pug Huxley!

Saw a flyer for this bookstore while walking through the theatre building on a visit to UE. What an awesome find! Great selection of books. Fun stickers. The owners were super friendly. So glad that we stopped in this great independent bookstore.

Accidentally ran across this hidden gem when signing up for Libro (a great audiobook alternative to Amazon's Audible that supports local bookstores). My wife and I were excited to learn that Evansville had a local bookstore, so we went to check it out.Cute and clean little store with a very nice selection of books, as well as puzzles, art supplies and some really cool stickers. The owners are very friendly, and were very helpful with book recommendations. They will also order books if there is something you are looking for that isn't in stock.Highly recommended! I will definitely be visiting Bluestocking Social for all of my future book purchases.

This independent, locally-owned bookstore contains a well-curated collection of books and art supplies. They also have interesting jigsaw puzzles and a cool assortment of stickers. This place is one of Evansville’s best kept retail secrets.

A quaint little local bookstore. Staff was very friendly and was receptive to friendly chat and joking with me which made me feel more than welcome. Local crafts line the left wall and I bought several candles as well as a sticker and a pin and several books. I will be returning for future shopping.

First time shopping at Bluestocking Social but won’t be the last time. We were pleased to find this gem of a locally owned bookstore. Friendly greeting when we entered the store, and also greeted by the cute dog staffing the store that day. We purchased a book by a local author and a children’s Christmas book. Bluestocking is a little shop with a lot of personality. The book selection is small, but thoughtful, including both classic works and some of the best new fiction. Additionally, they carry some important essential supplies for artists, and some great giftware made by local artists and artisans—stickers, tee shirts, jewelry, and more, comprising both literary and Evansville themes.

I visit this place all the time. It’s an adorable bookstore with fun gifts and friendly owners. If they don’t have the book that you want, they can order it! But by far, the best part is that they usually have a dog around. So unless you are soulless or have an inconsolable fear of pugs, you must go.
