For the last year or more it seems that the prices that you see items marked at on the shelf cost quite a bit more when they get rang up at the register and the more you buy the more you get cheated out of and I have mentioned this to the store employees on several occasions and it still has not been taken care of. In general store #09252 in Columbus, IND is not a good place to go to buy your goods from the Dollar General stores for lack of concern for the customers that shop there and it would seem as if they have a serious management problem or something like that. Cannot recommend that anyone waste their time or money at the above mentioned store.

The lady that was working was very rude after an altercation with a rude customer as we all waited patiently in line. Then when I had asked her about a coupon on the shelf she was rude and said "I have no idea I don't know where everything in the store is and how much it costs". Then I proceeded to leave and I broke a bottle of hot sauce outside I went back in to tell her and she was rude once again with "okay and ? ". Definitely with not be my got to store...

Store is just a complete mess and always smells bad. The floors look like they haven't been cleaned since the store opened. The staff aren't any better. They're rude and just unprofessional. Ask them to do something and they give you a mean look. They just sit around and do nothing. Absolutely pathetic service.

The counter at check out was absolutely DISGUSTING. I understand it was “shift change” when I came in, but if looking at the disgusting counter doesn’t make you want to wipe it immediately, then you SHOULD NOT work in customer service. It’s cold and flu season. And to think the cashier was ringing up my items with bare hands and then touching everything. Gross. I would not have been one bit been annoyed had I been asked to remove my items or to refrain from placing items on the counter so it could be wiped. Not to mention, ALL the sale items were completely gone.

Latest shopping experience was an earful to say the least. Everywhere I was in the store I could hear the two gentlemen cashiers cursing F this and F that. Now while this doesnt bother me looking around at other patrons I could tell they were very bothered by it. Kinda disappointing the condition of the store. Could tell the manager was off today cause it never looks like that when hes there.

Absolute worst service, employee would not follow the sales posted and was too lazy to check the shelf. She refused the sale price and then was not helpful when questioned. When I asked for the store number, she refused and said I could google it!!!! Absurd. I would love for the store manager to speak to this as the employee refused to get a manager and refused to tell me the name. VERY RUDE

Leave employees working alone way too often which leaves the store in shambles and never a cart in site. Customers shouldn't have to fetch their own cart out in the parking lot and then come in to a store half or less stocked. Carts of shipments in their way and never able to find what they want. You cant schedule people by themselves and expect them to run the register and have much time for ANYTHING else!!!

New manager from Detroit seems to be what Columbus store needs, seems knowledgeable & eager to clean the store & get stock put up.Hope he works out as well as he seems eager......& he can find people that actually want to work & WILL COME TO WORK!

It's a big srore, everything was stocked well. Store clean. Some aisles felt 'tight'. But overall very good store. A little bit of everything.

Absolutely outrageous treatment in this store by staff!!! At 7pm on 31 December I ordered 2 pizza from Papa Johns, I was told due to it being new year it would take over an hour, So me and my husband paid said no problem and took a walk down the Plaza to DG to kill some time....We both picked up some carmal popcorn and continued to walk around the store...My husband then said he didn't want the popcorn due to the pizza we was waiting on, so he put it back on his way out of DG store (he went off to check out the hardware store a little way down the plaza) I continued to look around the DG store and said I would met him at Papa Johns after I was done in DG...It got to 7.50pm and I went to the checkout of the DG, the 2 female employees at the checkout where being very off with me which I just thought 'yeah must suck having to work new years'...so thought nothing off it....I paid for me things, said thank you and left the store....Then I was followed out of the store and was accused of stealing!!!?...I explained I did not know what the staff was talking about that I had paid for all my thing!!?....then she said "that man you was with took something"...I told her no he put it back and that he was Military Police for 21 years!!....she said "what's that got to do with it!?"....I said he did not take anything and that he is only 2 stores down the plaza at Papa Johns picking up the pizzas we had been waiting on!!...The other staff member then said "you spent nearly an hour in here!"....well I think you need to educate your staff more DG!...Since when is a customer spending time to look around your large store ((and purchase items before leaving)) a bad thing!!?....I went on to tell the other staff member that the reason why I was in there that long was I was waiting on pizzas and that she could come with me and talk to my husband regarding 'the popcorn issue that was never an issue'...To which they replied "let's just leave it at you are no longer welcome in our store, let's just leave it at that!" (Our store?)...I think the DG CEO will confirm it's not!....I was left standing outside the DG store thinking 'what the hell just happened!?'....So no ladies I'm not just going to leave it at that!...Your absolutely terrible false accusation and then banning (which is not even legal) of the store was ridiculous!!!....Which is my reasoning for this lengthy review! (Also reporting this humiliation to DG head office)....I'm no longer welcome in your store!?....Wow!...check your cctv!!....On explaining your outrageous behavior to my husband, he actually laughed as he had just paid $39 for pizzas, a $1 bag of popcorn ladies come on for real!!?....Yes don't worry you will no longer be seeing us in that DG store, but trust me I will not "just leave it at that" your behavior and false accusation was insulting & ridiculously!!...It has been passed on to your superiors for them to deal with!....Happy new year!Update!....The staff members that band me have since been arrested and put in jail for dealing drugs out of the store!....Karma! lol

Cashier was eating McDonalds with her daughter that was maybe around 3 years of age while ringing up my items. She was too busy to talk to us. Her mouth was occupied making bets with the other cashier while she also stuffed fries in her mouth. There was also a Pepsi guy standing around talking to the girls in a flirtatious manner. It was uncomfortable. The store was a complete disaster but it's rare for a dollar general not to be. Take it or leave it I guess.

4 star for friendly service kinda cluttery and nothing in the clearance isle is marked. Ppl sit stuff down there all the time. I think it's on sale and nope full price. Fix this plzz

Lacking inventory like the other DG stores in town and forget about being sure of getting their advertised deals for that week if you're a SUPER SHOPPER like me. (for instance, You spend an embarrassing amount of time pouring over sale ads, retail websites/apps & cash back apps in order to get those crazy good deals by utilizing their mobile coupons along with any additional manufacturer's paper coupons on top of their sale price and DG's $5 off coupons, to only time someone else has cleared the shelves of qualifying items! Oh the horror! Well a lot of times this DG will not even have their advertised items in stock AT ALL, so that's annoying.Also if you have any signs of claustrophobia, probably shouldn't go here. It's SOOOO crammed in and the aisles are suffocating! This also means their stock is usually in a state of chaos.

Dirty and cramped always. There are many DG stores near me and this is the worst in my opinion. The doors are never working correctly etc.

They close at 9 PM yet I get here at 649pm and they have the doors locked . Lady employee comes out and says they are closed early because she has no help. Seriously ?!

Stocking carts block aisles, difficult to use a cart. But prices and great employees make it worth it.
