I love this pet shop. It's locally owned and ran. The staff is so extremely knowledgeable! The prices very fair and the selection is unbelievable! You can even request specific fish to be ordered if they happen to not have it.I recently became a aquarium mom and took on a pair of leopard geckos to look after until my brother and family are back in the country. Research is very split on both of these subjects on dr. Google so I was a bit confused but trying to get it together. Greentree got me together! They specialized staff that are so knowledgeable and own or even breed their own animals. The info I found about my fish was all wrong and the trip I made to feeders (don't get me wrong, i love feeders and they do a great job) crowded my decisions even more. They helped me understand the basic ideas of care, the ins and outs of each pet and explained everything I needed or even just wanted to know to make better decisions. Their guidance has helped me understand what info on the wild west internet is actually legit and what is hype. I owe it to them that my tanks or critters are alive and thriving.P.S. updating because I just left and noticed the Christmas sign. It's beautiful how they are opening there arms to anyone who might be lonely on Christmas. 🧡

Great selection of freshwater fish! Bought 6 shrimp today, only downside was I didn't look at the shrimp fter I selected them and they were put in the bag, I ended up getting 2 black ones instead of a blue and a black I had asked for 😭 Definitely check before leaving! Other than that, you can tell they're a place that care alot about their fish and its a super clean place for all the animals they have to care for. I'll definitely be back to add to my shrimp collection!

Pungent smell as soon as you walk in. Facility was absolutely filthy. Seen several workers out from behind the counter plus 2 at the counter, not a single one spoke to me let alone asked if I need help or if they could be of help. The one running the register lacked customer service, positive attitude, and knowledge. On top of that, bought dubia roaches for feeder insects. "36 count" of small roaches. Was able to use 9 with 13 left as of today. The rest are DEAD! It is only Wed, they were bought Sun. Over half are dead within 4 days! Do not recommend this place at all, especially for anything live. It won't be for long!

I was able to place an order for a large, hard to find tank with Greentree for a solid price. The tank arrived 1.5 weeks later and I could not be happier. Great people to work with.

One of the best local pet stores in Louisville area. They will spend the time with you to help you make a good decision on your reef aquarium investment and help you avoid mistakes. They genuinely care about you and your pet/hobby and want you to get the most enjoyment and least frustration possible. They are there to help/educate first and make a sale is just a side-gig. You can trust what they tell you.

Was on the look out for a male parakeet for my momma, I heard they might have them at the pet center, I stopped in the guys working were VERY helpful, and informational. Great place for saltwater aquarium needs. I love the $15 frag tank! A great way to build a new coral tank on a budget. Everything I’ve gotten from here has been healthy and vibrant. I also very much appreciate the advice I’ve received from employees with experience in Saltwater aquarium keeping. Not the cheapest place for equipment and supplies, but I don’t mind the small markup to support a local business (I could have gotten filters and wave makers cheaper online, but I consider the extra $$ a donation to keeping a local livestock supplier in business).Definitely worth a visit if you have, or are interested in having a saltwater/coral reef aquarium. (They also have freshwater fish and other exotic animals too).

I love this place so many cool fish my boyfriend and I take my little cousin here alot to just look around. It's a little messy but it is a super small store so I get it. It smells weird because of the salt water tanks here. But it's very cool and they have so many different animals to look at and have accessories you would need for things like fish and reptiles and ect.

The people working here seem to enjoy what they do. If you are looking to get into aquariums or looking for something to put in a current aquarium, I highly recommend Greentree Pet Center. They have some small animals and reptiles, too, for those looking for a different pet.

EVERY FISH WE GOT DIED.We have tried this place every few years, the fish last a week if lucky.We bought 1, she died less than 20 hours later. They then claimed it was due to bacteria or nitrogen (all our other fish were fine, thank God), we have over a decade of experience with fish, so we keep the fish tanks in good condition. So after some arguing (about the return as they wanted to give store credit or exchange)I finally got cash back.Maybe they are good for the supplies or the exotic pets ,but do not buy fish here unless to feed them.Cute axolotls though and staff are mostly very nice. (Hence the extra star).

Bought mystery snails here 2 days ago and they are doing great. Staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. They answered all my questions and then some. All 3 snails are very active and wandering around their new tank. Shells are very bright and lovely! My 2 year old fair goldfish really needed some tank mates. Currently in a 20 gal. Thank you :) (Adopted Sept. 30th 2021. EDIT~ Update— 12/27/21 all 3 snails still alive and healthy. Been feeding them algae wafers/bottom feeder pellets every other day and they are thriving with their tank mate.

We have LOVED going to Greentree for years, but unfortunately, we have made our last trip there. My son bought a fish that died within a few hours & they refused to replace it without a body. This is not posted on the website and is very poor customer service. Disappointed :/

I felt as if I was the only one in the store. My salesperson was extremely patient. The variety of fish and aquatic plants was plentiful. The price points were excellent.

More than half of the time I get fish here they die with in 24 hours then they will not give me store credit or a new fish even after seeing the receipt and a water test and I have to drive from over 30-40 minutes away tank is always in good condition all other fish are fine and they was recommended but you better off going to feeder pet store or Walmart or pet smart any other pet store but here over 75% of the time it a waste of money on fish here and they are not helping you they ack like it your fault even if you did everything right and everything comes back good you be better off going to a fare and winning a gold fish and having it live longer or a better pet shop that gives you 14 days just increase something happened

Out of all the places to buy live fish around here, this place is number 1. It's clean, the staff is very knowledgeable and professional without being too extra. The staff at many of the other places remind me of car salesmen, obnoxiously anxious to help. Best of all, there's a massive variety of all different types of aquatic life from snails to shrimp, frogs and of course plenty of fish. Both freshwater, brackish and salt water. Their prices are significantly cheaper than other stores as well. I love this place. Glad I found it!

Gotta love a mom n pops store. Best place I could find to get quality fruit fly cultures. Some things they are cheap on and sometimes they’re prices may be a little higher. But it’s up to us as the consumer to help keep places like this open. Spend your money here instead of the chains

terrible customer service have been going here constantly for over 2 years and every time i come back the customer service gets worse the guy working the counter is always rude the people bagging up the fish have to google them to make sure they are getting the right fish the there is only one good employee there is the guy with long hair and the curly haired dude and the older guy with glasses but the guy on the counter i hope he trips and falls

I bought some fiddler crabs and fiddler crabs are not really well known as far as how to take care of them so they really didn't know but they Googled it with me and we all come to an agreement on how to take care of him and I bought six of them for my little girl

Very knowledgeable on what and when we can put things in our tank. Always free water testing. I drive over an hour just for this pet store. Never have any kind of problems with their fish. We bought everything in this photo there along with the filter.

Have always loved it here, but one of the employees convinced my family member that she should get a fish that is meant for a 20 gallon for her 5.5 gallon tank, which the one she wanted would have fit perfectly.

They have the greatest exotic aquariums! All living coral & aquatic plant life. High exotic fish. It's entertaining just to visit this pet store.
