The store is getting more organized due to a lady working hard on shelf displays and stocking merchandise. Fridays are best for full shelves and finding those items you are hunting for. Changed my review to 4 stars, since they have more staff working now and are cleaning the place up. It still is the best place for great buys and surprising brand name stuff you might find amidst all the Dollar Tree name merchandise. It is the thrill of the hunt for me!

I needed Hot Wheels cars and some orange track because I am doing a HOT WHEELS HIKE for kids where we race cars and have a trifecta, a pretend bet, on who will finish 1,2, and 3 in races. We then do this at three separate locations. We start at the City West Shelter then the Devil’s Slide, then the Bird Observation Platform. We try to predict the best of the three.Anyway (!) Dollar Tree had the items for $1.25 each which was great for the track and $.26 too much for the cars.They were clean. They were efficient. They were organized. And they accept Apple or Google pay.

Staff is incredibly rude. I asked where water was and the guy working said I donr know but my manager might and then never showed me where the manager was, I had to walk around store to find her. Then when I asker she she very rudely told me at the front of the store. She had an attitude snd acted like I ruined her day by asking a question. Store also very unorganized and many shelves unstocked and boxes down isles so you can't walk down them

Understaffed store. Needs more helpful or better management. Always boxes stacked in the isle with products not out. One cashier can't manage the register And stock the shelves. There would be more customers if these issues were fixed.

Not a plus store in the craft section yet. They do have plus in the freezer section though. Makes Pizza night more affordable. Christmas is in & going fast.

Visited Chesterton Dollar Tree on 12-14-22 at 2pm.There was a line of 8 people with one young guy at a single register.He had to call for a manager twice for help with a customer.The manager walked by the long line of people waiting and obviously couldn't care less.I asked the guy at the register why another register wasn't open for such a long line. He said his backup called off.I asked him why his manager didn't help and he just shrugged.

Went into the Chesterton store today. I visit dollar tree often in other towns as well as this one. I will never go in the Chesterton store again. It was filthy. Boxes everywhere and such a disaster. So sad as the store isn't that old.

This Dollar Tree is the nicest Dollar Tree I have ever been in. It's very clean and organized. All shelves were well stocked. It's a little off our usual route but well worth it. Looking forward to next shopping spree there.

absolutely filthy inside. looks like an F5 tornado went through it. I avoid this location at all costs. boxes and garbage all over the floor. looks like they forgot what a broom is and haven't used one in 6 months.

The store was really dirty. Boxes blocking most isles, trash on floors and only one person working. Really hard to shop, not sure when I'll return.

Nice little store, and literally it is little, but its clean and ok. Was bummed that they don't sell milk or hersheys syrup but they have an alright selection of some frozen foods and lunch items(hot dogs,lunch meats,cheese).Cleaning and hygiene products for one dollar is a nice deal that only dollar tree gives.Give it a go if you haven't checked it out, decent bang for your buck and staff seemed friendly.

I love the atmosphere of the store. Y always feel relaxed and shopping here really helps me get what I need. The staff is very energetic, fun to chat with you about anything, and always ready to help anyone. I will definitely be coming back here.

I love this dollar tree! They have very cute awesome knick knacks for all people. And as far as the lady commenting on the chap stick issue. You do have to realize that they can only stock what they have in the store. They do have trucks that come and drop off all their supplies. As In any business, things happen, trucks come late, employees get busy and cannot stock when the customers want them to. You sure as heck wouldn't want us to come to your business and act immature like you are This is a business and noone is perfect. These employees are doing the best they can. So please use your head before you get upset and leave unwarranted reviews that make absolutely no sense when you don't know the process of how this business works. Great job Chesterton Dollar tree. Keep up the hustle and hard work.

Love this store. I've never had a bad experience here.Sometimes the lines are a tad long, especially when I'm in a hurry, but not a big deal.Cashiers are very nice.

Horrible people working there. Nicole is on what she believes is a power trip. She treats customers horribly and needs to be fired. Very bad reflection on company. I will never spend money in your store again because of her.

I am OBSESSED w this place...my gf and I go from Lake Co. to PORTER CO. JUST to find ANY goodies that the OTHER stores may not have!!! I remember the 1st time I took my man in there and he was ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY!!!💯🤯🤯🤔 I can say THAT WAS THE 1ST TIME IVE EVER SPENT $75 AT A DOLLAR TREE 🌳!!!

I never write bad reviews and I frequently visit this store and the employees are typically lovely and the store is tidy, but the service I had today was so awful that I felt compelled to say something. I was checking out with a few items when my card was declined from what I later found out was a cautionary security freeze on my bank account. I apologized and the cashier took such a nasty, unprofessional tone. She told me to do it as a charge- not asked but TOLD- and I apologized again but said I couldn’t because if for some reason my account was empty my overdraft fees are horrible. She rolled her eyes and TOLD ME AGAIN to “just charge it!!!” with a even nastier, louder, bossier attitude. I flat out told her I couldn’t and had already apologized for the inconvenience once and said I had to leave to call my bank at this point, but then she says, “Well do you have another way to pay for this then?!?!” I had already told her that I didn’t, and she follows up with another eye roll and this big attitude, loud condescending sigh and says loudly and agitatedly “WELL NOW I’M GOING TO HAVE TO VOID ALL THIS!” It was bad enough being afraid something had happened to the money in my bank account and being embarrassed about the situation, but this lady’s attitude was so uncalled for. I get that sometimes people have a bad day but this was beyond inappropriate. She made a completely unnecessary scene and from now on I will just take my business to the Portage or Valpo stores.

This little store carries a variety of really nice things. Cards, wrapping paper, candy,and nice stuff for table decorations. It is my go to for everything!

Everything is $1, good selection of seasonal, products, some frozen, boxed, canned & pkg'd food, storage containers, dinnerware, glassware, greeting cards, ($1 & 2/$1) & so much more...There's a chance u'll find what you're looking for, & remember, everything's only $1... 👍

A great new place in Chesterton. Well-run, clean, and good variety. Much, much better than the Family Dollar in Porter ! - Article_86
