JayC made both my kids birthday cakes and they were delicious and beautiful! My daughter had a princesses and my son had construction with a dump truck and bull dozer! They loved them and a great birthday because of it!

$8.99 for a rotisserie chicken the size of a pigeon?!? That’s highway robbery. These prices are getting outrageous. Can’t complain about the staff at this location though, they are always super friendly and helpful.

I went through a whole ordeal of calling to find the one pharmacy with the one medicine I needed in stock as apparently many pharmacies don't keep it in stock and it is special order only.I finally stumbled upon Jay C in Charlestown who were my light in the whole ordeal.Not only did they have it but they kept me well informed, were extremely calm, patient, kind, friendly, warm, and helpful. As I navigated with the doctors office and other pharmacies for them to be able to fill my order.A ordeal that took the whole day and these kind people in the Charlestown Jay C pharmacy were nice enough to fill my order before they close despite the order coming in within an hour or two of their closing.I will forever be grateful to their help and professionalism.

Terrible experience. I placed an order online two days ahead of time. I called 30 minutes after placing the order to confirm that they did receive the online order. Two women were screaming back and forth, one of them very angrily took my information because they said they did not know and would have to check and call me back. This was at 8:30 in the morning. 6:00 in the evening rolls around and I still have not received a call, So I called back again to confirm if they received my online order. The woman still did not know if they had the order or not so she took an order over the phone just to make sure. The next day I get a call from a woman to tell me that they did receive my online order and confirm everything was correct. I asked her to make sure that I did not end up with two cakes because there was at this point two orders. She said she would dispose of the second order so there was only one. I received another call on the day I'm supposed to pick up my cake telling me that I have two cakes. Did I actually need two? I told her about my conversation with the woman yesterday and she said she would not make a duplicate. I finally go to pick up my cake which was done early thankfully since I needed to leave the area sooner than I thought I would. So good on them there. However when I picked it up it was completely cracked the whole top looked awful. But it's too late now my wife's birthday is today I don't have time to get another cake. I am extremely disappointed and I will not be ordering from them again.

Literally horrible. I shop at Walmart now too, less expensive, less hassle. Clicklist never gets my order right--ever. They tell me online one price and then when I get there they have substituted things I would never order that are more expensive. The deli employees are nearly always rude and weird, like they can't be bothered to do their jobs.

Absolutely love my Jayc store and since I have been using click list it has saved me so much time. With a family of 7 going to the store can be stressful and click list makes it so easy and nice. Never had an issue with any items and if there is a substitute they make sure it's the best quality as to what I ordered. Love love love this place.

Great store!! Clean, well stocked, even during the hard times they continue to work around the clock for us here locally. You will not find a better trained, friendlier employees at any other place! They make shopping a pleasant experience and they will also make sure you leave with a smile!

Deli departmentWas in there this morning at Charlestown, In jay c store, since we couldn't find any meat that looked edible we decided on deli lunchmeat and cheese. The person that waited on me (she totally gave me the impression I as bothering her) NO Hi can I help you, No smile, Nothing!! When I asked about cheese she made a face that made her look even uglier than she already is, and rolled her eyes. Don't really care about this person or how she acts just wanted to let it be known. Its really hard to spend money in a place with unfriendly, hateful faces!A smile like you like your job would be a nice.

Used to be a nice little store. Now they are to concerned with flipping aisles on a weekly basis to keep customers confused and in store longer. No pattern to the stocking system. Find an open shelf and cram it full of stock. Doesn't matter if its a full 180 degree difference from products around it. Prices go up almost weekly. Not a lot, but if you pay attention they do. Especially right before a sale. Fools you into thinking items are on sale. In reality your paying the actual price from 2 weeks prior. But it is a store. They need to turn a profit. The quality of stock and constant aisle changes just aren't worth the headache anymore.

Very small town store, while maintaining a good selection. Extremely clean, and friendly, helpful staff. They are part of Kroger, so your Kroger card and coupons are accepted. Always a pleasant experience.

They have a nice, friendly staff and people to bag you groceries and help you put them in your car, if you need them too. Unlike a lot of stores I've been in, their crew members don't run away, if they think a customer has a question. Most will ask if they can help you, and they will even go out of their way to make sure you find what you need to purchase.

08/02/21: Jay C stores like this one is why I continue to happily go out of my way to shop at Walmart. Stoped in for a quick cake to be ordered for this weekend. I wanted to have a cake decorated and was treated rude yesterday by a deli/bakery associate and had the same issue again today with a different associate in the department. Hung up the phone cause I’m not dealing with the neglect treatment. Called Walmart and within 8 minutes I had my order placed and ready for pick up. 1 star is too high of a rating to leave such a bad store.12/28/21: Picked up turkey and cheese from the Deli, was charged for 1lb of turkey and got .74 oz. Looked at my cheese to meal prep for the week and it has another cheese all through the Pepper Jack from them not cleaning the slicer. Will be returning for a refund tomorrow. This is absolutely ridiculous to have to deal with this disgusting excuse for a grocery store.

Be careful and inspect your groceries if doing curbside pickup. On more than one occasion we have received expired/damaged products and moldy vegetables. Customer service will not do a refund, only store credit for next purchase. Will go elsewhere for groceries from now on. Location is the only good thing they have going for them here.

Not as much selection as a bigger Kroger but it has most things for a normal grocery pickup. Everyone is nice and polite. Not really a long wait in the checkouts either.

Prices are higher but being the only grocery store in town I guess it's understandable. Online grocery pickup is amazing and staff is always very friendly and helpful.

Prices are just acceptible, but the employees are absolutely awesome. I hope management gives them a "pat on the back" every day, because they are what keeps me (and others) coming back. They are friendly, courteous, and extremely helpful---if they don't know the answer, they will go find out. I have never left the store with less than a smile on my face!

Jay C, is the only Grocery store in Charlestown. This being the case, you will pay more for your groceries. A gallon of milk will cost you no less than $3.30-ish. Cashier's are friendly and the store is always very tidy.

I called at 11 a.m. to order a big bouquet of flowers for my wife on her birthday tell her I'm going to be there at 6 p.m. to pick them up. I go there's nobody at the floral counter I have to get them to page someone a guy comes up he can't find them he goes and gets another girl she looks for them she can't find them then wants to call the person that supposedly made the bouquet as she walks off she stops and helps another customer.So I go back to the front desk tell them what's going she calls the woman and she don't answer then she goes to look in the refrigerator she can't find them so apparently they never did make them up. But what do they do after me standing there for 20 minutes, they want me to wait another 15 or more minutes why they throw something together real quick and still pay for the flowers Never once did manager say we're making some flowers up free of charge. Where the hell is customer service at anymore.

There are some nice features to this store, but not the chicken department. They only offer large trays of chicken parts. I was just looking for enough for dinner but ended up getting enough for three meals. Also, the self check out wasn't very user friendly. Wouldn't let me put anything back in the cart, though there isn't much room. Paying on the kiosk wasn't very simple either. Walmart, I hat to say, does self check out better. I prefer the JayC in Salem, but stopped here because it was convenient. I will be back, but not very often.

Prices are going up so much it's not affordable to buy your weekly groceries. Card savings, digital coupons aren't helping like it should be. Store is much cleaner and updated.

I stopped in tonight to get some replacement ground for some ground beef that I had bought previously that was spoiled when I got home with it. I had already called the corporate office about it, and they even looked up the transaction for me and printed out a copy of my purchases and emailed that to me since I had misplaced my receipt. I did find the original receipt eventually, and took both that and the emailed print out from the corporate office with me tonight. The service desk employees were pleasant and efficient, and told me to go pick out the replacement ground beef and bring it back up front to the service desk. When I returned, they quickly bagged the meat for me, and rang up one other item I purchased for me, and I was on my way. That is excellent customer service from the beginning to the end. Kudos to Jay C Customer Service!

This used to be a wonderful store, but Kroger wanted to run it in the ground. By putting in self checkouts, you ruined the experience the store once had. Part of what made it Jay C was not having those self checkouts and instead had lines with fast and friendly employees. They also raise their prices weekly, making it impossible to afford shopping here. I am saddened by what Kroger has done.

Opens at 6am but doors are regularly not open until 6:05. Not a huge deal. Just a sign of poor management when things are not open at the right time, trash cardboard is always on the floor, and there is mold in the veggies. Huge let down to the Kroger name.

I am a huge fan of this location. Store is clean and neat. Staff is helpful and friendly. I particularly like that all the checkout lanes are open during peak shopping times on weekends and evenings.
