Pleasantly surprised! The food was tasty and seemed to be a reasonable portion for what you pay. The staff seemed nice and their outdoor patio seating seems to be well kept & tidy. We really enjoyed our visit overall. We recently moved nearby and have been looking for local places within striking distance for a good last minute meal for those long days when no one wants to cook. This place made a good first impression! We'll definitely frequent for a quick carry-out meal or family outing for a sweet treat.

This is your classic Tastee Freeze stop. All the ice cream options you can imagine. The malts are think like they should be and the grill options? Everything you'd expect. It's not world class food, but it's not meant to be. Great place. Great people. Good food. Tasty treats.Have some time? Sit on on the picnic tables for a minute and enjoy your food.

Super friendly staff, the food was good and ice cream was exceptional! They also have seating outside too which was really nice (no seating I side). I got the Big Tastee Burger which was good. My husband got the cheese quesadilla and it looked home made. He said it was amazing and it came with a size of sauce which also looked homemade and tasted great. My kids split the chicken tender with fries which both were ok.Our kids got ice cream on a cone. You can ask them to not do as much ice cream since the smallest size they have is small. They also came our with sugar eyes and tongue that the kids loved. My sons chocolate was really good, my daughter got strawberry and I thought it was the best strawberry soft serve ice cream i've ever had. My husband got a strawberry shake and he said it was great! I got the Turtle Shell Freeze and looooved it! Large pieces of pecans yummm. Can't wait to come back!

NO STARS BUT I HAVE TO GIVE A STAR!!!Ask for a chicken sandwich this is what I got for over $8.00. couldn't eat the fries too much salt way to much, even the cheese fries had to throw away both waste of time and money!! U can see the salt in the picture

First time here and what a disappointment! I just should’ve taken the drive to Dairy Belle! I ordered a banana split.. more like a vomit spit! 🤮 it was all watery and nasty.. never again will I go to place again not worth it! I’ll take my business elsewhere!

Love Tastee Top Grill. The food is good. They have their share of mistakes, accidents happen, things get goofed up. Oh well life goes on, Theres no reason for being angry, or over reacacting, I actually laughed; one of the items I ordered was a strawberry slushie. I got home with my sons slush, it had bit of pinkish/redish color for strawberry but had absolutely no flavor. It was sweet slush water. Lol. I called talked to management, she was so kind, and had no problem fixing the issue by replacing the slush. ... We normally do not like to complain because we understand how hard fast food can be at times but my son wasnt feeling well (head cold)and was hoping the strawberry slushie would help him feel better. if you are a person who has ever worked a fast food place in your life you understand, ive been there, done that. It can be hair pulling crazy. Things happen like running out of strawberry flav. For the slushie. But i totall appreciate that they corrected it by allowing me to come back for another one. Be patient be kind, the workers could be your son, daughter, wife, husband, grandmother, grandfather, any family member, a friend. Just out and out someone you love and care about. Stop,Think, Would you want to be treated the way you may treat someone? They may be having a bad day? They may be new at their job? Just STOP, TAKE A BREATH, Think Thank Goodness im not having to cook, thank all the Fast Foot restaurant staff, They defenetly deserve it and arent thought of enough.!!!! Here comes the holidays ... the no time to cook grab fast food. . Be Thankful they cooked you what you ordered. Even if its not up to your " " so called standards. Ummmmm its fast food,Just Remember....... BE KIND & BE THANKFUL 😊Parking: Small parking lot but it works, and theres a parking area across the street from restaurant, the drive up line gets a little congested but they work hard to move it fast. Nice area to eat outside, small bar style set up to eat inside. If they added a inside table sitting area it would change the whole point of the old rustic charm.

My family and I had the pleasure of finding this gem on a road trip to see family last Summer! This place is everything you could hope for & has the nostalgia of my childhood wrapped into the atmosphere. My kids loved the Big Tastee combo & I especially enjoyed the fries & freezes. Lots of great food. Support a small business and give this place a whirl. Wish we had one in Oregon.

This place has been here since time began,,,,,decent ice cream items but they suffer from the typical small minded management. Waaaay too many items on the food menu,,so nothing is very good.Why not make a few things really well? Why not make a real Chicago Dog and been known for it?? Cut the food menu by 75% and increase the quality, portion and price. Stop being like every other bad food place in Cedar Lake.

Great example of a well-run small business delivering a quality product. The owners are kind and customer centered. There is a buzz of efficiency and urgency that delivers good food, fast. They didn’t have a flavor of a treat that I wanted. I explained it to the high school girl working the counter. She custom-mixed one, and it was fantastic. They are training these kids to be more of an asset than a liability as they progress. I’ll support that as well.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Their menu is extensive, their food is so good and their staff is always so nice. My family loves coming here. I just wish they had more space to sit or hang out and eat. Make sure to try their tacos! They are killer.

Would usually date it a 5 star because this place is beyond one of the best in town. But today had a very bad experience first they said they didn’t have a chicken parm sandwich which they do in fact we order one every time we go. The girl basically argued with us saying they don’t have Parmesan but that’s not even what goes on it I get it there mostly new workers but how are you going to know how to be a good employee if your not trained well. You should be trained everything on and off the menu I am not faulting the girls by no means just think before you send them out make sure they know everything that can be ordered. Also we order 2 medium ice creams and the cup was filled up not even half way with soft serve with which I was kinda disappointed but the freeze was over filled. Not the best experience I have had just think they can use some extra training.

Tasty Top has been a staple in Cedar Lake for many years. We adore the food. It's good old burgers and fries, the al pastor tacos rival any other joint, and the milk shakes. Just yum. Whenever I don't want to cook, he always starts with "Tasty Top?" 😁

Can be insanely busy during peak times, but the workers do a good job getting the line down. I love how good their ice cream is and the vast amount of flavors they offer. Definitely a good gem to visit when you're in the area.

It's good if you want a quick snack before going somewhere, but they take to long to make the simplest food. I personally think the blond lady who works there just gives off bad vibes and is kinda rude. and it's expensive. Also there was a bug in my Mac and cheese bites

I just wanted to say, tasty top is not bad for a quick bite to eat. But went there yesterday and I asked for a bag to put the banana 🍌 split in, and the Woman 👩 with head cap on middle age blondegave me a look like I was asking for a lot and rolled her eyes 👀 like it would kill her to take a couple of steps to get a bag! This is not the 1st time my wife experienced the same treatment from this employee/ girlfriend or wife! The Owner is a nice guy, I had the pleasure of talking to him a couple of times and not once did I get attitude. Now there’s never a need for attitude with costumer’s especially when they place there order With respect and manners. I hope 🤞 if myself or my wife go there again the attitude is gone!

Great food and prices are not bad. It's small but well worth it. They have the best chicken tacos and they have pretty much a little bit of everything. The big tasty burger is also very good

For a small town ice cream shop, Tastee Top offers a great selection of food as well. Their gyros are excellent, as are the burgers. Most everything else is typical fried side items but it's worth a stop for lunch if you are in Cedar Lake.Prices are a bit above average but so is the service and quality. It's far more than you'd expect from a tiny ice-cream shop, and the place is always very clean

The best ice cream shakes! I can't pass by this place without them! Pistachio is my go to, and my gf loves their peanut butter oreo! Food is pretty good, but not the selling point. Ice cream shakes, GET YOU SOME!

Excellent food at Tastee Top and they have a wide menu with lots of choices. The Sloppy Joe is better than homemade! Service is quick and staff is very friendly. The ice cream is so good. Awesome place!
