Not a great selection, was there today looking for best choice brand of Swiss cheese slices. there wasn't even a spot for it. I checked all the tags to see if it was possibly out of stock , couldn't even find a spot where it would be. And the whole store smelled like a cigarette and it wasn't even busy, there was probably like 3 people I saw while shopping, it was very empty so how is it that I smell that gross cigarette smell when there's hardly NO ONE in the store. Make it make sense.I will continue to go the stacks off Broadway and 109th in crown point, they are just better. And they have sushi.

This is my neighborhood grocery, but I prefer to go elsewhere. I'm usually not impressed by the price or quality of the produce, though the deli tends to be okay. The store is usually clean. I think my real complaint about this place is I never know if my checkout person will be rude or abrupt. Sometimes I'm made to feel bad about being there. One time I asked for paper and the bagger spent the rest of his time muttering about what a pain it was.

I personally do not like all Stracks in general and won't come here unless I have to. I have to come here at times, because it is extremely close to my house, and I need something quick, so I'll go. They happen to have a decent selection considering it is a smaller store. The people are usually nice even if they don't always know how to help when you ask for something. It is by far a better option than the Stracks in St. John. I do however do not come here unless I am desperate. They are WAY overpriced. I stick to Aldi whenever I can.

Cart stalls are nowhere near some of the handicapped parking. That’s counter intuitive. Sourdough bread in the bakery was covered in mold. Not just a little but covered. Does anyone check on this stuff? The deli workers complain openly about their jobs to the coworkers in front of the customers. In their defense, from what I can see and stories I heard, OSHA would have a field day there. Expired products all throughout the store. I wish a better store was in town.

I ask sales associates to help me find non moldy produce and I personally set aside what was moldy. Associates won't help me plus puts what I told them was moldy right back in the sections they came from..buyer beware, check your produce.

My favorite location. Meat department always stocked. This stracks always has the best looking fresh meat. Their bakery and deli is great. People r very friendly and helpful.

STRACK & VAN TIL of Cedar Lake, IN is among a chain of (same name) supermarkets. Upon arriving I found parking lot difficult to navigate .. (maybe just me) but kind of hectic..I went in for some particular fruits and vegetables & was disappointed to find the items unavailable. I had asked the manager who did not offer to check the back to replenish the produce I came in for. This was a further disappointment. I don’t think I should have had to ask. I bought a bag of Michigan Apples to find them brown inside once I got home. I guess it was not my day. I realize the store is not responsible for bagged apples that they order.The store was clean & orderly with restrooms available for their patrons. Prices are similiar to other grocery chain stores.. overall a nice store..I usually shop at the Lowell store and thought I would try a new location. I will continue to shop at STRACK & VAN TIL as I do like the selections they usually offer. This may have been a restocking day at Cedar Lake store.

Some of the employees are rude. I only go there if I desperately need something. They don't put customers first. They answer phones in the middle of your transaction. Another of expired products on the shelves

This is the only grocery store in Cedar Lake. The store is clean and staff is kind. However, the produce is always on the verge of going bad and the prices are high. It seems that the management buys old produce and sells at premium price. Literally, I've picked rotten items out of the produce bin because they were rotated or thrown away. More than once, I've thrown things away as soon as I've gotten home because they were bad and I missed it on the purchase. They would honor the refund but it's a huge effort to go back to the store once you get home. It seems only to be this location for the produce issues.

Went to a different strack store in cedar lake in and they had the cream cheese crumb cake that lowell never has. They only thing is that they dont carry any 1/2 gallon of half and half.

Picked up 1 lbd. of mozzarella cheese that was sliced so thin, trying to remove each slice from the paper that it’s packaged in is impossible to remove unless you like small, torn pieces of cheese and about 10 minutes of effort. Thanks deli worker I appreciate you. There’s a reason that you offer a customer a sample of your first cut for approval. I would have said they were way too thin (never mind making a sandwich) but I guess I’m just as guilty for not asking. I assumed you knew what you were doing.

Love the savings from the app. The coupons you clip in the app, automatically come off at checkout when you enter your phone # as recognition. This specific location was bright, clean with helpful employees.

Can someone please get the fruit flys out of the bakery section where they keep the donuts. 3rd time I went to grab a donut, hmmmmm donuts, and they are like 10 or so fruit flys flying into the area where the donuts are kept. How am I the only one that notices this. If I come in again I will be taking a video and posting it everywhere. Time to do a good cleaning bakery manager!!!!!!!!!

Very overpriced. Not very clean. The people in the deli were super rude besides Zach. They complained and they threw their gloves down when I wanted one thing from the deli and it was like 7:40. It was an older lady who was complaining and slammed her gloves down and sighed.

helpful. I shop on my own in a wheelchair and staff and the front desk clerk Lisa all of them are extremely helpful. If you need anything just ask. They will do their best to help. Suit store is clean they do their best to disinfect and sanitized all day everyday.

I absolutely love this location! Always clean, fast and friendly service, and knowledgeable staff! The only complaint I would have is that it's not as large as some other locations, so the selection very occasionally is lacking. Not enough to lower the star rating mind you.
