What’s a better way to start the spring and summer seasons than with a new fence? We had the great pleasure of working with Joe and FFC Fence this spring for a full yard fence install.They were amazing! The crew came early, worked efficiently and cleaned up every day. You can barely tell that there were post holes dug! They left no messy dirt or damage to the yard. It was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend giving Joe a call!

Don’t waste your time. The owner told me to not hold my breath on getting a quote. It’s been 3 weeks and still nothing called 3 times and was polite all 3 times. Still no quote. Owner was very rude. I was even told they came out to my house. They did not. Bunch of liars.

Came out very quickly to give estimate after contacting. Had plenty of options available to work with my material and color preferences. Work crew was professional and did a great job with installation while being as minimally disruptive as possible. Would highly recommend for any major fence projects. Thank you again for the work.

5 stars for failure to return calls and text. Started last fall with a request for a job with other neighbors wanting the same. No follow up after repeated requests and conversations. At least have the courtesy to tell me you’re not interested. Really sad because you did good work on the last job.

Several years ago I used FFC to install our fence. I was able to make the order in winter and have installation in the spring. This summer, I needed a section of the fence removed to get landscaping machinery in to the yard. I made a phone call to FFC to have a post removed, and they arrived the very next day to take it out.Two weeks later, with the landscaping finished, I called FFC to schedule to have the single post put back in and the fence repaired. I was told there was no availability, and they could not fit me in to the schedule. I called several times since... each time being told they could not help me.They would not give me a date, they would not put me on the calendar, they would not assign any work, they would not help me at all. I continue to call, they continue to do absolutely nothing. Abominable service. Josh and the team at FFC fencing on Wicker Avenue in Cedar Lake, are an excellent source for fencing needs. They are efficient and extremely helpful. The completed job was exactly what we needed. They took the time to ensure our needs were met and the job was completed as agreed. The materials and labor they provided exceeded our expectations. When we had a small issue due to Highwinds, Josh and his team were out the very next day to rectify the situation. We highly recommend Josh and the team at FFC fencing for all your fencing needs.

Amazing job!We love our new fence!!! We chose to do the steel post instead of wood for the durability. We were so pleasantly surprised with the quality and workmanship. We live on a very busy street and a fence was just what our home needed for privacy.

I called five times to schedule a service call. Joe, the owner, was so unprofessional. I asked when I could get on the schedule and he blew me off and when I asked again about scheduling something he said, " You know, I am about ready to go off on you." This was a few months back and my first and only review as I do not make a habit of submitting ill reviews but this bothered me so much that I felt a duty to warn those fence shopping. We used Reeves at our last house and they are a lot better than FFC.

We have called this company three times. The first two calls we never received a response. Today we called and spoke to "JOE". He was the most RUDEST AND CONDESCENDING Jerk that walks the planet. He said they are 3 months out for repairs and could not get anyone to our home to provide an estimate for our insurance company. FFC was the company that installed our fence in the first place. There's an old saying in business. " If you don't take care of the customer, somebody else will..."Luckily we spoke to Illiana Fence in Gary, Indiana and we were treated with respect and kindness. Looking forward to working with Illiana to restore our cattle fence. Hopefully FFC will go out of business as they don't care about existing customers. Pitiful...

Guys were great to work with. Joe was attentive and paid attention to what we wanted, and how we wanted it.Price was fair, the fence looks great. They did it all very fast, cleaned up. Worth every penny.My backyard has a slope down to the back of the property, therefore there was a gap between the bottom of the fence and the ground in one section as it went down that slope. Joe and his guys made some suggestions as to what we could do about that, as we have two small dogs, didn't want them going under the fence. They came up with a great solution and executed it.Very happy with them.Service: Vinyl fence installation

We hired FFC to put in a 6 foot wood privacy fence as well as a 5 foot chain link fence. Joe was great with answering any of our questions. He was patient while working with us since we had an insurance claim for the project We are incredibly pleased with the work done. The fence was hand built which was really nice! Great work and highly recommend FFC!

Called FFC and spoke to Josh... expectional customer service and value. FFC came out with their high end power trac machine and two guys within the month (which was explained to me over the phone after the quote since there’s a wait). They were very respectful of my yard and grass during the install, which was very important to me. They put up a beautiful Vinyl Privacy Fence in 2 days (large yard, 27 panels)!As far as price; I feel like I got a good value considering the product. FFC was slightly more than the competition, but the product and service was worth the wait and price. All in all, 5 stars.... would recommend to a friend.Reading some of the other reviews makes me wonder if they’ve even had a fence put up. Lol

My old fence was destroyed by a few pretty bad storms. We spoke to Josh over the phone and informed him of our situation. He came the next morning to look, measure, and tell us our options moving forward. We had FFC demo our old fence and build us a new one. They did an excellent job, we couldn’t be happier. Very disappointed with he lack of response. On March 8th, the representative came to take measurements and he let us know it'd take a few days to receive a quote (we wanted an aluminum or pvc fence and wanted quoted for both). After two weeks, I had two make 3 calls before I got an email with the quote. I then wanted to add one gate and requested a quote for that. It took a few more phone calls/vmails and a follow up email. At the last phone call he said "Oh, yea. I never sent you that email did I?" I understand I'm not the only one trying to get a fence right now but at this point I feel like I'm begging for the revised quote since the entire quote process has taken almost two months. It's disappointing because my area that needs gated is not that large and I was quoted almost 6k which I plan to pay cash for (and I've been told there's more affordable places). Strongly considering going elsewhere due to lack of response if I don't hear back soon.Service: Aluminum fence installation

We used FFC 10 years ago for fencing on our 9 acre horse farm and they did a beautiful job. The horse fence still is in beautiful shape. I had to call the office for some old invoices and Deirdre was very nice and was able to find them for me right away. My review is strictly on communication. I have only received a quote from this company. I experienced no lack of communication with FFC. They were very patient with me and answered all of my questions. I feel like they gave a reasonable price. I will leave another review if I decide on going with them.

This is the email I forwarded to the business.On February 2nd , we came in to your shop to request a quote. We were greeted by a very nice lady who told us to speak with Josh, as he was knowledgeable about the "horizontal plank" fence we were looking to do. He wasn't there, so we left a message for him to call us, so that he can come out and do the estimate for us. After a few days passed by, I called back asking to speak with Josh. Once we talked, we set a date for him to come out to our house. Josh came out, did his measurements, and told us it shouldn't be more then a few days for him to send us a quote. After a week and a half of no communication, I reached out again and finally got the quote from Josh. It was around $18,000...We looked over the quote, and compared it to another estimate from your competitor, and realized that it was significantly higher. I spoke with Josh, letting him know that we would rather do business with a local company, and for him to go over the numbers again to see if he can save us some money. This was on the 17th of February...Josh finally sent us another quote on the 23rd, at which point I told him that I would speak with my wife and get right back to him. After calling him and leaving messages, he got back to us on March 2nd, at which point we agreed on price @ $14,000. I asked how we go about starting the project; and he told us that he just has to revise some things in the contract and we are good to go. Today is the 15th, and we have no communication from your company. Never in my life have I had this much trouble giving someone my money. Why should a customer have to case you down? Maybe $14,000 isn't a significant amount of money? I run a large business, and have been in customer service for a long time, and I can tell you this; You are doing it wrong. On your site, you list dependable service, professional and responsible staff, and that you have been in business for 40 years...I have a very hard time understanding any of those claims. If you truly understand your customers base, and know what good service is, then you might be able to use this situations to make yourselves better. Otherwise, you can do what you want with this info.

I had Joe come out and do an walk around my property about a year ago, he had his measure spool, took notes, did a diagram and gave a generalized price. With the notes that "some" trees might need to come out in order to install the fencing, however there was no detail as to what trees, how many, etc. However it was stated that if they had to do it the expense would be considerably more. At the time unfortunately, the estimate was a little beyond financial resources.Fast forward a year and I am able to financially do the project. I contact Joe, send him all of HIS original emails, including project layout, quote, diagrams that HE made, EVERYTHING. I simply requested he review the quote to let me 1) know if over the course of a year that labor costs, etc., had increased so as to increase the price of the quote and to 2) come look at the property to let me know what trees if any needed to be removed in order to A) remove them or B) redesign the layout in order to work around large increases in expense.Joe arrived and did not know why he was there. He came completely unprepared, he didn't have any of the emails I sent him that HE responded to in order to set up the appointment to come out. He didn't have the drawings. When asked what he was doing there, he told my wife he was supposed to walk the property to get the dimensions of the fence. INCORRECT. My wife gave him a printout at that moment of his own old drawing of the layout. He was still clueless, thinking he needed to do a walkaround. Yet, he forgot his spool/measuring tape tool. He was completely unprepared and unprofessional when I had sent him EVERYTHING. Beyond that when I told him how unprofessional I felt his actions were, he became irate and told me "good luck with the project" "we shouldn't work together" Thank GOD!. I went to Lowes and even with the % increase on top of the carpenters who are contracted out, was a comparative price, better product, had more options and none of the un-professionalism.

Poor attention to detail during the measuring and estimate process, as the original total linear footage estimate was short of what our survey indicated. After Joe Huseman, who purports to be one of the owners, was advised of this shortcoming, he increased the linear footage but still ordered too little material. As a result of Joe MAKING THE SAME MISTAKE TWICE, completion of our fence installation was delayed by two weeks.A potential box out of a corner was decided against due to the installation crew leader advising us that it would delay completion by two weeks. Had we know that we'd be waiting two weeks due to the insufficient linear footage, we would have insisted on a box out in the corner. Instead, the corner post was pushed in a foot off the property line. Further up that side of the property, an irrigation line was punctured during post hole digging. When I repaired it, the concrete had molded around the tube, so it had to be visible to the crew. However, nothing was reported and I was left to discover the leak after the fence had already been installed in that area. Had the estimator paid a little more attention to detail, a box out would have been recommended during the measuring process.Josh provides good customer service, but Joe is going to sink the ship.
