I love this place! It reminds me of my childhood with the Old-Fashioned Cute Cones and Real Ice Cream. The view is fantastic and there are benches facing the lake where you can enjoy your ice cream as well as tables. Very worth the stop to relax and enjoy the day. The help was very nice too.

What a cute place to stop for ice cream. There is tons of seating outside and there is also the lake right behind they have tons of items to choose from and they even have food items as well. Very clean outside will be back again.

April 1st 2023 update - Ran here on opening day for our hot dog and ice cream date and we were pretty disappointed in the changes. The 2 hot dog, chip, and pop combo is now $7.50 which we wouldn't mind paying if the food was actually decent. More times than not our bun is ROCK hard. They also switched out diced onions for the dehydrated ones and they weren't even fully rehydrated when they were served to us. We won't be getting the hot fog combo here anymore which is pretty disappointing as it was our favorite little getaway lunch date.The best quick date spot! My husband and I love coming here and getting the 2 hot dog, chips, and drink combo for only $5.50. The buns some days are a hit or miss but it doesn't bother us too much. Skip the personal pizza, it came still cold and frozen but the cheese was burned. Their ice cream is always the best way to end the day! Their hot fudge isn't hot all the time which is disappointing but we just changed our sauce choice to avoid it. I wish they could keep the blue moon August flavor of the month forever! It's my absolute favorite!! I can't wait to have many more dates on the water front here!

Service here is hit and miss. One time you get something and it looks like it is out of an add, next time you order a banana split and you get a container of what looks like a banana split if the toppings were thrown anywhere and it was left to sir out for an hour. When it it is 70 degrees out there is no excuse for veing handed a container of soup

I like this place. The chocolate frozen bananas are delish, their ice cream is decent as well. I like the view when we sit and eat. Wish there was a spot closer to the water to sit though. The prices are not bad, although I have never tried or ordered their hot food so I can only speak for their ice cream. Staff is usually a bunch of teenagers that are usually pretty polite. I'm sure we will be back.

Ice cream and lakefront view. Parking is right on the lake. You can buy delicious old fashioned banana split or a twist cone while sitting in a big outdoor patio area. Lots of parking. High recommend! Great prices and many different selections.

This small window service ice cream establishment can’t be beat. You will very often find yourself in long lines during the summer season. Located off the shores of Cedar Lake is the unassuming DAIRY BELLE with many choice flavors of ice cream served up in either dishes, shakes, malts, sugar or waffle cones. They offer special flavors monthly (I believe) & Pistachio has been on my radar but time and again I come back to Chocolate. The creamy almost pudding like texture of DAIRY BELLE Ice Cream will make you come back for more. I believe this is a hidden gem that’s worth the boast! There is another DAIRY BELLE in Dyer, IN if you are headed in that direction on Rt. 30. This is not a sit inside eatery but many picnic tables and sandpit for kids to play in off to the side with a great view of the lake & boats. I hope you get the opportunity to stop & try some fine ice cream this summer.

I have been going to the Hammond Dairy Belle for over 20 years. When I moved out to schererville we started going to that one and now we go to the one in crown point. All of them are fantastic. However the one in cedar lake could not do the normal request that the others always do, chocolate dipped in Oreo. Now not being able to do it is not the issue, the issue is the attitude I got just for asking for that request. Very smirky. Not a good look for dairy belle which has always had pretty good customer service elsewhere. A simple “I’m sorry but we can’t do that at this location” is all you have to say.

This is seriously my favorite place on earth. I love the slight charm of the small town we live in that is now growing into something bigger. The lake is just gorgeous, and the ice cream is 11/10!

The ice cream here is absolutely delicious! Took a short drive from St. John to try this place out. And let me just tell you, I won’t be going to Dairy Queen ever again after trying this place! Got a double vanilla malt, and it tasted just like marshmallows. Would recommend!

went with family here got a butter scotch shake, pineapple shake and a root beer malt. The flavor options are not a large selection, the pineapple shake was nasty...if u love pineapple flavor save yourself the taste buds hit and don’t try this. The butterscotch was ok but the root beer malt was good.By the check out area it smelled like there was some dead animal not sure why. Nothing was visible dirty but could definitely smell it. Lost my appetite

Old fashioned ice cream shop with soft serve custard and hand made treats. Milkshakes are hands down the best, are large banana split looked like it was created by an ice cream artist and tasted fantastic. Kids treats are very unique, Shark Attack, Clown, Poodle, Elmo and the Monster. Favorite item is the Fudge Brownie Delight.

Groovy and tasty as well as taste buds approved delicious. Try the pumpkin ice cream while its available best real pumpkin flavor ever have I had, and mix the flavors around such as a chocolate peanut butter parfait with cappuccino ice cream.

If you're looking for a vegan option try their Pineapple & Mango swirl. Dairy free! Even if you can have dairy, like my kids, you'll love it too. Kind staff, what a lovely place!

A little bit on the pricey side with not too many options to choose from. The portion sizes compared to the price are also skewed. It was nice to try it the one time, but I do not plan on coming back.

It reminds me of the one in Hammond. :-) I’m glad Dairy Belle took over this location. Nothing is better than a nice lake view and some really great soft serve ice cream. My favorite location!!

I give you four stars because they got my order wrong but the manager in charge of that place allowed me to keep my car there overnight because I had a flat and couldn't get my spare down I don't know her name but she not only fixed my order but she treated everyone that came there like a person she was a great person to meet
