I want to thank the store manager, Daniel, for his service. It was actually a pleasure shopping at this CVS location today. The recent occasions that I have shopped there have been great because Daniel has been there at the store managing things. Finally a person at this location who goes above and beyond for a customer! He goes out of his way to help, treats people with respect, and I can tell that he works hard. I hope he stays working at this CVS location because he’s doing a fantastic job. Thank you Daniel! I am appreciative!Maybe things will turn finally turn around at this location with him there now.I was considering never shopping there again because of the female workers who did not want to help even when you had a simple question and were rude for no reason. My own life sucks but I don’t take it out on people. For the rude female workers, please try counseling or a career change.I have not used their pharmacy yet because of the bad reviews- sorry, but I’m not taking a chance!

WHERE DO YOU FIND THESE EMPLOYEES???? This was my first time getting a prescription through the CVS in Cedar Lake and I will NEVER go back!! The lady at the counter (Ruth) was rude from the moment I walked up. I know this wasn’t just a one time thing because she was also extremely rude to the gentleman behind us. If you don’t like your job than find a different career. Preferably one where you can’t belittle your “valued customers”

Pharmacist questioned what my education level was. She said I was intelligent enough to make this phone call so I should know how my insurance works. She said a grown man should be able to read and understand how their policy works. I felt so completely useless and small after our conversation.

The scariest thing about this pharmacy is that nothing has changed in years… The poor service, inaccuracies, and slow response times have stayed consistent despite changes in staff. How CVS corporate allows this branch to continue to operate in this way, tarnishing their brand image is beyond me. There are thousands of families that depend on CVS for their health and their medication. I hope CVS isn’t resting on the fact that many families simply lack a choice of where to have their scripts filled due to their insurance coverage. Training and accountability are long overdue at this location.

CVS robotic answering machine gets annoying with the commercials then being on hold to talk to someone. Now with that being out of the way. This store has problems from the old store that never was dealt with. The mistakes and amount of time to fill prescriptions are poor. I would like to say there have been some good techs over the years but more bad ones than good.It doesn’t matter who the head pharmacist is it’s just not good.Might just have to pay more somewhere else but i lack trust in this store

Edit: Addendum to review. In addition to being on hold for a long time, not they've gotten very bad at not having medication in stock. I'm now waiting, for 5 days, for an incredibly important medication that can have extremely detrimental effects on my health. I'm taking it to another pharmacy. This region is horrendous. I've used CVS in a number of other states, but this is store is like a bunch of incompetents who have very little training nor professionalism. Front of the store is great, but the pharmacy takes way too long to answer the phone. Pharmacy techs will continue to do what they are doing instead of responding to customers. They have been out of my regular meds which I have regularly gotten refilled there monthly, will tell me that it's been ordered for the next day, then will not get it in because it wasn't ordered. Not a good situation when it's something that will create a adverse reaction when not taken on time. They need to realize Walgreens in just across the corner. The regional manager has the responsibility of this substandard care at his feet.

I just had surgery and my mom has been amazing at helping me get around and get the stuff I need. She went to the pharmacy today to ask about the right bandage for me and he told her, "Well I didn't go to bandaid school".EXCUSE ME? Where are you manners?! What really irks me is that he said this to her face. I just wanted to say this:Sir, you are supposed to be a professional. You may not have gone to "bandaid school" but I'm sure they taught you proper customer service. My mom is the sweetest lady in the world and I guarantee she asked in a polite manner. She was looking for guidance, as an employee, it's part of your job to help. Take a step off your high horse and serve the community like a professional. That is all.

I absolutely dread going to CVS in Cedar Lake. Every time I go to the pharmacy, there is ALWAYS some issue. Several times I've asked about a prescription being filled, without any eye contact, I'm immediately told 2-3 hours yet I've seen others come in behind me and get theirs filled right away. It's not like this is a close drive for me to get to CVS in Cedar Lake or Crown Point. The employees are not friendly to the point of being rude. IF I did NOT have to use CVS, due to my insurance, I would go to Walgreens any day of the week.

Refused to fill my prescription even though I offered to pay out of pocket, because my insurance is out of network with them.I really don’t understand why insurance HAS to be involved if I pay out of pocket AND my doctor wrote a valid script. Very stupid “policy”

I've never had to worry about getting my meds filled and having them on me, until I came here. They literally will have you sitting on your phone waiting for an hour every single time you call. Then be prepared for something to go wrong, because it always does. If my insurance was excepted by Walgreens I would never come back to this location.

My Rx was called in 3 hours prior to me arriving at the CVS in Cedar lake. They still didnt have it finished. Had to come back 3 1/2 hours later. The lines inside and in drive thru were ridiculous. I finally got up to the drive thru window and the girl said over the speaker " thanks for coming to CVS, I'll get to you when I can" I waited 15 minute for a 2 minute transaction. I heard this one was slow and understaffed, but this is uncalled for. Get them more help in the pharmacy

Uggg.. you guys in the pharmacy do your job please. I called you to ask about how to have my prescriptions transfered to a Walgreens. You said have them call us. Well they called and you didn't give them all my prescriptions. So I had to call you guys again and your tech said "I dont know why they weren't all transfered" like I said just fo your job right the first time.

Very pleased with how the pharmacy used their best sense to help my baby girl. The doctor at the ER prescribed a medicine. The pharmacy noticed the med was for my 3 month old but the prescription was an amount for 1 yr and older, so they changed it. So thankful that they paid attention and we didn't overdose our daughter.

I've been coming to CVS for years, been a happy customer and frequently in the top 5-10% of savers in Indiana. My most recent visit, however, has me questioning this history. I came to the register with an item valued at $4.99 according to the tag on the shelf. I had a 40% off (love those) and applied it to the item. When I checked out and was given my receipt, I noticed I had been charged $9.99 regular price for the item, bringing the sale to $5.99. When I questioned this back at the register (and even went back into the store to look at the tag and make sure), I was told they couldn't help me, and if I wanted to return the item they wouldn't give me the 40% off back. Ridiculous. What happened to the customer is always right" mindset, especially when they actually are? This came directly from the store manager, who was at the front to "help".

I went to CVS in Cedar Lake. They are so rude there. They did have my prescription ready after the computer called and said would you like me to tell the pharmacist you are on your way. When I got there they only had one of my prescriptions ready and told me if I want it from another cvs store I would have to have my Dr. Call it in my Dr. Was gone by the time I called to have it changed to a different CVS. But when they didn't have my wife's prescription they called a different CVS ( crown point) and transferred her prescription over there. I guess the person at this CVS drive-thru on 10/07/2020 at 3:10 pm wasn't in any mood to help someone who has severe nerve pain to get my Lyrica. So now as I sit here burning from nerve pain. I am also steaming in my head because this person on 10/07/2020 @ 3:10 pm at the drive-thru window didn't want to help someone get the medication they need to help with nerve pain. I never had this problem with Walgreen's. To bad my insurance doesn't use Walgreen's. I'm stuck with these uncaring and rude people At CVS in Cedar Lake on 10/07/2020 @3:10 pm drive-thru. I may just use the CVS in st john maybe I'll have better luck. My next review goes to corporate. Also now they say I can't get my prescription until after 5:30 pm on 10/08/2020 so thats a whole 26 more hours of terrible nerve pain. I burn and hurt so BAD. I guess some people want to do their jobs but others just don't care. Like the person at the drive-thru on 10/07/2020 @3:10 PM. I REALLY WISH THEY WOULD FIX THIS. IT IS A GIGANTIC PROBLEM. I WISH THEY CARED AT CVS IN CEDAR LAKE AT THE DRIVE-THRU ON 10/07/2020 @3:10 PM. I just don't believe they can be so RUDE AND UNCARING to someone that is in exhausting nerve pain. I also wish I didn't have to use them at all. Oh yes they are the slowest, I waited for 35 min. In the drive-thru with only two cars ahead me. Maybe they need more help, maybe they are overworked and tired. only excuse that would make any sense to me

Worst pharmacy on the planet. Script was called 07/15. Went to pick up on 7/17. Was told I had to wait till 7/19 to get because of insurance snag. Just went today 07/21 script still not ready and told to come back in half hour. Unacceptable!

I agree with the other review...RUN TO WALGREENS ACROSS THE STREET. . This pharmacy is completely insane to deal with. Always out of medications and just slow. I gave up going there, I don't have time for this place and get told a 2 hr wait or they are out of something. Just answer your phone is a good start. Corporate please try calling them.

Had no problems whatsoever. I’m anti mask but completely understand at a drug store for fake COVID virus. Wokeism is the bigger virus that is threatening our nation. I wish these people would wake up and realize that they are getting played by wanna be gods!

This is the worst pharmacy! They never ever have medication on hand, you can never get a hold of anyone.. you're waiting anywhere from 5/20m just for someone to answer the damn phone. You wait in line the same amount of time if you go in. They're horrible!

Pharmacy never answers their phones and they always have to re-run my insurance every time I go in even though it's on file. I'd give this CVS a negative star if I could.
